Many happy memories at Sonoma. Ran a top alcohol dragster- we were terrible except for turning a large pile of money into a much smaller pile. We were good at that. Fun show- thanks for posting.
Great video..I use to go to MEMPHIS MOTORSPORTS PARK every year from 1988/2009 never missed a race there.they shut the track down now it sucks only live 3 hrs from it.been to Texas motorplex couple times an been to old bridge township NJ Once I love them nitro cars there monsters TASCA is my favorite ..good video picture was clear sound was great nice track..
Thanks Steven Hoffmaster , your exactly right . It’s always a challenge when the fast cars run but if you look at my videos from the early morning it’s like taking candy from a baby it’s hardly anybody in the stands so it’s not a problem then.
Lol it's hilarious seeing the difference between Wednesday drag nights and this. Getting my mustang in the elevens is a good day there then I watch this☹️
Hey, I see me! Man, my shirt and pants are way too big LOL. I was in the media vest with the grey hat you were panning with during cacklefest. Love the work man, always love to watch highlights of the event.
I've watched several of these videos and ti always seems that the guy who loses doesn't get defeated by the other driver, but that his car breaks down right at the middle of the strip. It seems as t though the race is already won or lost by the mechanics before the cars get the green light
I know nothing about drag racing so maybe this is a dumb question: I know drag races are short, but I recall them being much longer than this. Did they shorten the race? I feel like it would be more fun to watch them go longer, plus they would possibly get to a higher speed. Can anyone fill me in? Thanks!
Top fuel in the 90s was ran to the 1/4 mile for safety reasons at somepoint in there they changed top fuel dragster and funny car to run 1000ft so 320 less feet but every other class runs 1/4mile
962momo who are you to tell someone what to film & what not to film. This is top quality drag racing content. No other youtuber records the entire run like frank 4434 does.this guy records the burnout staging and the run so keep your mouth shut.
It’s just handheld Sony camcorder….no gimbal. It has a great image stabilization system that gives super steady footage. Thanks for watching brother hope to see you at the track soon 👍
Thanks for watching Peter Lee, its a never ending battle trying to shoot around people & sometimes it’s perfect but at other times it’s no way around it, I just learned to keep shooting like we spectators do at the track, we never say “ I can’t see so I’m just gonna sit down & not watch the cars anymore, we constantly try to look around others each & every pass” sometimes we get a clear shot of the cars from start to finish & sometimes people get in the way. Early in the morning if you notice when the sportsman cars run there is hardly anybody in the stands & that’s when you get a clear unobstructed view of the cars from the launch to the finish line BUT unfortunately when the Pros or fast cars come out then the stands get crowded.👍
@@frank-xp6pj Its always been like that. Even in the 70s at OCIR. Even harder to see when your a 10 year old kid. Dad would put me up on his shoulders to see the nitro cars. Thanks dad. I miss you.

No kids, all geezers. I give fuel racing 10 more years max. Sorry, but it’s true.
