Hey good folks! I am happy to share my most complicated wargaming terrain so far! Perhaps this one is my best one even!? A lot of failures but happily I think it ended in a success! What do you think? Please tell me in the comments down below! Stay safe and lots of love to you all! 👍💙💛💙
Since you asked for the definition, a fortress is any defensive structure and a castle is one that specifically acted as a home to nobility, often to a knight or lord.
There is a house that was built over a river to escape paying land taxes. You should build one doing the same thing here so you can add another multi-level point over the river to fight over. Or make it a mini market bridge with four small guild shops. It could give you a chance to make a waterwheel for power as well.
Leif, I’ve gotta say that, of all the content creators I follow, and the many others where I occasionally lurk, you are by far the nicest and most approachable individual I have ever found on TH-cam. As a result I feel completely welcome to the channel, which keeps me coming back like no other channel. I watch your videos over and over, and often feel drawn to comment and to copy your techniques. Your family and friends are extremely fortunate to have you in their lives, Leif. You are a true gentleman, bro! Greetings from Texas!
Now, this is not just an architectural project, it's also an engineering project that is magnificent and amazing. And the only person who doesn't make mistakes in this process is the person who does nothing.
Maybe there is very few people than can replicate something like this at home, but it brings so much joy to any Warhammer Fantasy/Mordheim/The Old World fan just to see it...spectacular job Leif, thank you for sharing this piece of love. Congratulations! Cordo
In one of your first videos I watched, you cut up lego windows. You are not forgiven. Change your ways. STOP THESE WAR CRIMES!!!! In all seriousness, great video. I love the idea of a gatehouse and you did a great job.
Hahahahaha! Yeah I know, it feels a bit painful every time but I ordered them specifically for terrain builds, which in some ways makes me feel a bit better about it! 👍😂
The maniacal laughs in your opening are becoming more honest. I think may have laid more bricks than a brick layer at this point. Absolutely amazing work. Carry on! 😁
I have been devouring your videos for the last two weeks and you've inspired me to make terrain pieces with your techniques, the results so far have been fantastic, thank you!
In the wise words of a great (painting) artist, "there are no mistakes, just happy accidents." I'm not sure if I quoted it right. The more you work on your hobby, the better it gets. I love your videos 👍🏻
An alternate bridge for the ever changing landscape, cool idea. You were thinking about the levels and mulitibuilds coming together with the working mechanics, which is fantastic by the way, I was thinking .. "hrm .. and thats growing up out of the river? I hope the boats can sail through or around", I was imagining the scene prior to the apocalypse and the sky falling and the river drying up. Another fantastic creation, again I wish I was a plastic miniature so I could wander your wonderful creepy city.
I think the difference between Castle and Fort in English is that a Castle was also the home of a Lord of some description usually, but a Fort is exclusively Military. I think your beautiful bridge would be a "Fortified Bridge", Fortified is a great English word for Mordhiem, because it just means to take a thing and make it More Like A Fort! So you can have a Fortified Tavern if a Free Company has set up HQ there, or you can have a Fortified Square if you set up your barricades around it. This is a fantastic build, thank you for sharing it!
Great build Leif! I find I’m happier with my builds when I push myself creatively in a way that’s beyond what I would comfortably do! Great addition to your board!
Another Solid Build. Experimentation with new mechanics always allow for creative solutions for problems you didn't even know you had until they come up. Adds to the fun part of crafting your own terrain. Also i love your terrain style I reference your tutorials a lot for Warmachine Terrain i just add more pipes because its in the steam/ industrial Age with old world flare.
Leif, this is awesome. However. All this work and you got the bottom ark the wrong way round! If the bridge goes north south, the river flows east west. So the ark for the river and the ark for the door/portculis should be perpendicular. My only nitpick on a truly awesome project!
I actually thought "I wonder when Leif will upload next" yesterday. Praise be to Sigmar! Artistic integrity is important and should be valued however when it drives you to start over after having invested a few hours into a project it does sting... although I do think that some of the coolest designs comes from the need to work around issues. Double edged sword and all that I guess. Snyggt jobbat!
Yeah I can agree to that! Thing is with me I really feel like I have a Warhammer Fantasy Dwarfs mentality when it comes to myself and my work. I would have been unhappy if I didn't do it as well as I could have! 👍😅 But thankfully the end result was worth it! Tack så mycket! 👍💙
Thank you so much! Hahahaha! Well that's the process right, we create, we love it and then one day we go back and redo it with some new insights and learnings! 👍😂
I really like this build and a great centre piece. I was thinking railings would look great but then you limit yourself for makeshift bridges to it. Great stuff.
Great build sir. I am a Necromunda man myself but do love Mordheim as well. What a lovely, grimy, dynamic, board you have, full of nooks and crannies where, ner do wells, can lurk in ambush.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to hear you say that! I cannot really do much more than what I am doing realistically. Ultimately it is up to the algorithm which is supposed to represent the people so! But again, thank you! 👍😅
Hahahahaha! I recognized the name but I was unsure and now I know a bit more about backhoppning and the origins of the V-style! Hahahaha! Thank you so much Leif! 👍😂
Yeah. That was pretty awesome, Leif. By far, your best build yet. Not just because of how awesome it looks, but also by how you overcame the mistakes and pressed on. I would enjoy that piece on my table. The top-heavy look makes it all the more 'Mordheimy'
PLEASE can we get a battle report!!!!!!! Not all of us are as lucky to have such a beautiful gaming table, and I'm sure that if you did a campaign, even playing against yourself, it would be amazing! Please consider this!!!
I am looking into it and like you mentioned, this is something I would have to do on my own. Please be patient, I want to but at the same time I want it to be good! 👍😅
Very cool Leif. Love the idea that in gameplay it can be both a path and a barrier at different points in the same game. Opens up so many exciting strategic possibilities. Another treat of a video.
So amazing! I love that you show how you made a mistake and how you fixed it! It is inspiring, that we can all do mistakes, but we just need to be patent and not give up! Also, it us supper satisfying to see how it fits and how amazing it is! Thank you so much for an awesome video.
This is so awsome. I'm glad you powered through with this build. It really closes the gap across the canal and makes the board look even more complete and epic! Your videos are always such an inspiration. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! Glad you like it! I have to agree that it really changes the board entirely, which was the goal! Thank you again for the kind words and support! 👍💙💛💙
I DO like what you do here, and I HAVE subscribed! Have a like and a comment as well, for the almighty algorithm. And with that out of the way, time to lean back with a cup of coffee and witness this bridge house of yours.😊
Great work! Personally not a big fan of moving parts in models, but there's a lot of knowledge to pick up in this video. That tip on making properly made ladders is great, definitely going to make a few :)
Hi , as allways , incredible skill, knowledge, tips, and all of this combined into one cool 20 minutes video. Thank you Sir, you are making the difference in how tables for Mordheim do look now, at least in my social bubble! And that is something.
Nice fortified bridge. I watched for how you made the drawbridge pivot. My plan is to build one from each bank to form the bridge and have a fortified tower on each side.
That's really cool. I myself would probably had gone with simple pegs for the chains, so it looks like the drawbridges go to the mechanisms, but actually to raise/lower the drawbridge one would take out a peg from the wall with chain, draw it to a lower hole and put it in there. While the actual working mechanism is hella cool, it's way to fiddly to work with in game. So i think my idea is a good middleground. Plus the metal corkscrew thingies would probably be called hoops or loops. Så ha en bra dag, hej från Umeå.
Tremendous work, I loved it. I just wish you had shown how you made that mechanism that actually worked but I guess that wasn't the point and I understand if maybe time was going against you. Really cool project!
Really cool building and a fun video to watch! Great detailing but I miss two details: stones over arches are always laid in arches or they would collapse. And speaking of collapse, how did stone fall from the castle without ruining the wooden platform?.. :) Anyhow.. Keep up the good work!

Since you asked for the definition, a fortress is any defensive structure and a castle is one that specifically acted as a home to nobility, often to a knight or lord.
Having functional drawbridges and portcullis is hard-core. This is so awesome
I imagine that successfully getting that draw bridge down and hear it "thunk" onto the table would be super satisfying.
Hahaha! Well I try my best! Thank you kindly! 👍😊
There is a house that was built over a river to escape paying land taxes. You should build one doing the same thing here so you can add another multi-level point over the river to fight over. Yeah I know that one for sure! Used to watch a lot of Bob Ross videos! Thank you so much for the kind words and support! 👍💙💛💙
i don't know anything about mordheim, but your builds are amazing. Especially this one! The idea of a battle on that board is epic. really well done
Mordheim is awesome! Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope to feature a battle report in the near future! 👍😅
holy poop....yeah my heart sunk for you when you put the first version in place!
Incredible build my man, such a fantastic idea!
Hahahaha! Yeah it was a bit of a set-back but it came with an important lesson! Thanks for the kind words! 👍😊

Hahaha! That would be an awesome way to experience the board for sure! Thank you so much for the nice comment! 👍😊

That makes so much sense! Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me! Thank you for watching! 👍💙
Leif, you projects always look awesome and really motivate me to craft myself! Keep up the good work, you're one of the best!
That is so awesome to hear! Thank you so much! Keep up the steam! 👍💙💛💙
Every build just gets better and more playable!!! Love that you also show the hardships 😊
Absolutely awesome bridge house!
Thank you so much! Yeah I try my best each and every time and every once and a while there is some progress as well! 👍😅
@@DevsDice you are welcome 🤗
Definitely always progress ☺️
I would never have thought to add verticality to a bridge! Of course it would make things more interesting and cool! What a brilliant idea!
Right?! Thank you so much! Glad you like it! 👍😊
Smashed it again Leif. Thanks for sharing the whole journey, not just the triumphs, and it is triumphant!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words! 👍😊
Great build Leif! I find I’m happier with my builds when I push myself creatively in a way that’s beyond what I would comfortably do! Great addition to your board!
That's awesome! That will result in some fast development as a crafter! Thank you so much! 👍😊
Great addition to the board-this turned out awesome
Thank you so much! Yeah this was a lot more interesting than my old bridge! 👍😅
Another Solid Build. Experimentation with new mechanics always allow for creative solutions for problems you didn't even know you had until they come up. My only nitpick on a truly awesome project!
Ahh I see! Yeah I think you're right but in this case I wanted to make sure there was enough space "along" the channel. But yes! I see your point! 👍😅
That is really cool as a single piece of terrain but really does shine when added to all your other pieces.
Thank you so much! Yeah for sure, I tend to try to think a lot about making the sum greater than the parts! 👍😅
This is the best terrain channel in youtube
Awww that is so nice of you to say! I try my utmost! 👍😅
What a nice project Leif ! As usual : AWSOME ! You are "un vrai maboul" as we say here, in France !
TY for this vidéo.
Thank you kindly! "A real madman" is what I gathered it means! I will take that as a compliment! 👍😊
Holy crap Leif your pronunciation is better than mine and I'm a native speaker. Your intro was very very good.
Hahahaha! Thank you so much! Glad that I'm not butchering the language too much! 👍😅
Du gör mig så motiverad att fortsätta måla mina gubbar och bara bygga terräng !
Ja men det där är ju kanonkul att höra! Tack för att du säger så! 👍💙💛💙
I just got my Proxxon and this has brought me from feeling overwhelmed back to inspired.
That's awesome to hear! Thanks for sharing that! 👍💙
Btw, I dont play or care about mordheim but this I still tune in because you're a great crafter! The paint job on this guy is next level, well done!
Awww thank you so much! That's very nice of you to say! 👍😊
That was a gem to watch, other than the laser cut parts , totally achievable by anyone if they take the time !
Thank you so much! 👍😊
I actually thought "I wonder when Leif will upload next" yesterday. Praise be to Sigmar!

Mate I love it! I have recently built a Fortress Monastery for 40K & now completely regret not making the massive steel doors actually work 🤣
Thank you so much! Hahahaha! Well that's the process right, we create, we love it and then one day we go back and redo it with some new insights and learnings! 👍😂
I really like this build and a great centre piece. I was thinking railings would look great but then you limit yourself for makeshift bridges to it. Great stuff.
Thank you so much! Yes! Exactly what I was thinking! 👍😊
Great build sir. I am a Necromunda man myself but do love Mordheim as well. What a lovely, grimy, dynamic, board you have, full of nooks and crannies where, ner do wells, can lurk in ambush.
Thank you so much! Yeah Necromunda has been on my radar as well but have yet to play it! 👍😊
I'm very ill today, but I'm rewatching your mordheim series to help inspire me for when I feel better :)
Ouch! Hope you get better soon! Lots of love! 👍💙💛💙
this channel deserves way more subscribers! well done Leif 😍
Thank you so much! That means a lot to hear you say that! I cannot really do much more than what I am doing realistically. Ultimately it is up to the algorithm which is supposed to represent the people so! But again, thank you! 👍😅
Nice! Just a suggestion, instead of the eyelets for the chains, some gargoyle heads would be cool. 😊
Thank you so much! Yeah that would have been an excellent suggestion! Will look into it! 👍😊
This is truely fantastic. Now i want to build more mordheim
Music to my ears! Thank you kindly! 👍😊
This looks amazing Leif ! So very fricken cool ...I bet that Mordheim board is a blast to play on.
Thank you so much! Yeah I think so! 👍😅
Awesome Building !!! Loved the tutorial and the beauty shots with Skavens and Ogres at the end !!!
Thank you so much! That makes me very happy to hear! Glad you enjoyed it! 👍😊
You’ve done it again you madman
Thank you so much! I try my best! 👍😅
You are and continue to be the GOAT my man! Another fantastic terrain video! Well done 👏👏👏
Awww thank you so much! That is very nice of you to say! Thank you! 👍💙💛💙
Oh, Leif. Another magnificent piece. Your work keeps inspiring thousand of creators. You're truly the Jan Bokløw of Mordheim ruins.
Thank you ❤
Hahahahaha! I recognized the name but I was unsure and now I know a bit more about backhoppning and the origins of the V-style! Hahahaha! Thank you so much Leif! 👍😂
You've outdone yourself this time!
Hahahaha! Thank you so much! I aim to do so when I can! 👍😅
Yeah. That was pretty awesome, Leif. By far, your best build yet. Not just because of how awesome it looks, but also by how you overcame the mistakes and pressed on. I would enjoy that piece on my table. The top-heavy look makes it all the more 'Mordheimy'
That is so nice of you to say! Thank you so much! 👍😊
Found you through Tabletop Minions. Glad to be here as a new fan.
Ahh awesome! Welcome to the channel! 👍💙💛💙
Amazing build, I love that the mechanisms actually works!
Thank you so much! Yeah I was relieved! 👍😅
Yet another incredible build. Your terrain is absolutely stunning, keep 'em coming!
Thanks a ton! I will try my best! 👍😅
I think it would be classed as a fortress as a castle would be a more residential building that's fortified
That sound logical! Thanks for sharing some insights! 👍😊
This consturction is amazing !!! Really good mix of engineering and creativity ! Congrats !
Thank you very much! Glad you like it! Yeah usually a mix gives the best results! 😊👍
You are now Bricklayer Leif. :)
Hahahaha! Yeah I might actually be! 👍😂
@@DevsDice Take your time!!! I'm sure it'll be amazing if/when it comes out! Love the content!! 😁
Very cool Leif. Love the idea that in gameplay it can be both a path and a barrier at different points in the same game. Opens up so many exciting strategic possibilities. Another treat of a video.
Exactly my thinking! I think this will become a much more interesting centerpoint in my board! Thanks for the kind words! 👍😊
So amazing!
I love that you show how you made a mistake and how you fixed it! It is inspiring, that we can all do mistakes, but we just need to be patent and not give up!
Also, it us supper satisfying to see how it fits and how amazing it is!
Thank you so much for an awesome video.
Glad it was helpful! Yeah for sure! Sometimes, or quite often it is about enduring! 😅👍
great stuff as always, Leif! every time you release a mordheim vid, i get the itch.
Thank you kindly! Glad to hear it! 👍😊
I DO like what you do here, and I HAVE subscribed! Have a like and a comment as well, for the almighty algorithm. And with that out of the way, time to lean back with a cup of coffee and witness this bridge house of yours.😊
Hahahaha! Thank you so much! I appreciate it a lot! 👍💙
Great improvement to your board and this is a pretty charismatic building added to it !! Congrats Leif...🙂.
Thanks so much! Yeah I think this one single building has a huge impact on the board for sure! 👍😅
Leif, you are constantly outdoing yourself!
Hahahahaha! Thank you so much! I try to as often as I can! 👍😅
Absolutely fantastic Leif! Well done! Not just the end result but the perseverance!
Thank you so much! Yeah sometimes I believe I was a Dwarf in my former life or something, hard to back down and hard to give up! 👍😂
Great work! Personally not a big fan of moving parts in models, but there's a lot of knowledge to pick up in this video. That tip on making properly made ladders is great, definitely going to make a few :)
Thank you so much Karl! Yeah the ladder thing just dawned on to me suddenly! 👍😅
I'm working on my version of your gatehouse right now! Might have to copy this one, too. Thanks for another great video, Leif.
Of course! Go for it! That is one of the reasons I am doing this! My pleasure! 👍😅
Outstanding work man, lots of twists and turns but in the end the result looks Awesome 😎👍🍻
Thank you so much! Yeah the process was anything but easy but thankfully it turned out good in the end! Thanks for the kind words! 👍😊
Outstanding work as always Leif . I always look forward to your builds.
Thank you so much! That's awesome to hear! Thank you for your support! 👍😊
THIS IS GREAT! The journey is always filled with twists and turns my friend.
Thank you so much! Yeah it is rarely a straight line for sure! 👍😊
once again a pure brilliant build and im not jealous AT all...honest
Hahahaha! Thank you so much! Well now you know what to do so just do it! 👍😂
Hi , as allways , incredible skill, knowledge, tips, and all of this combined into one cool 20 minutes video.
Thank you Sir, you are making the difference in how tables for Mordheim do look now, at least in my social bubble! And that is something.
Oh wow! That is so great to hear! Music to my ears! Thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing this! 👍💙💛💙
Great build, really like the buildings you make. They are really inspiring not just for mordheim but frostgrave as well.
Thank you so much! That is music to my ears! 👍💙💛💙
I'm always looking forward to your new videos! Great job, as always!!! :)
Thank you so much! That's awesome to hear! Thank you! 👍💙💛💙
Pretty pretty nice! Well done again. I lift my hat!
Awesome! Thank you so much! 👍😊
I love your builds and content! I love the portcullis the most! the drawbridges are great too!!!
Thank you so much! Makes me very happy to hear! 👍😊
Nice fortified bridge. I watched for how you made the drawbridge pivot. My plan is to build one from each bank to form the bridge and have a fortified tower on each side.
Glad it was helpful! That sounds like an awesome project! Good luck! 👍😊
That's really cool.

Plus the metal corkscrew thingies would probably be called hoops or loops.
Så ha en bra dag, hej från Umeå.
Thank you so much! Yeah that seems like a good solution as well! Tack detsamma från Stockholm! 👍😊
Leif, this is so cool! Very inspirational!
Thank you so much! That is very kind of you to say! 👍😊
Love your stuff Leif, always great to see an upload. Hope you’re well :)
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me! I am a-ok! 👍😊
Thanks for showing the mistakes! Such a cool build!
My pleasure! Thanks for the kind words! 👍😊
An awesome piece, looks super cool on your board! Im interested to see what you wind up doing with the scrapped gate!
Thank you so much! Yeah there was an attempt to repurpose it but alas no! 👍😊
Looking great Leif. Awesome piece of terrain.
Thank you kindly! Glad you like it! 👍😊
Another awesome build, if only i could like more than once!
Hahahaha! Thank you so much! I appreciate it! 👍😊
Awesome build, and it really transformed the board.
Thank you so much! This makes me very happy! Thank you! 👍😅
Fantastic build that would grace any table.
Awww thank you! That is very nice of you to say! 👍😊
A gobsmackingly awesome build Leif )O(
Hahahaha! Thank you so much! 👍😊
Spectacular build and paint-job
Thank you so much! 👍😊
outstanding. all the best from germany
Thank you so much! Much love back from Sweden! 👍💙💛💙
Extremely Cool
Thank you so much! Very nice of you say! 👍💙💛💙
Wow! Simply wonderful!
Thank you so much! Very nice of you to say! 👍😊
Amazing work, Leif!
Glad you think so! Thank you so much! 😊 👍
So freaking awesome 👍 great job man!!!
Thank you so much! 👍😊
Wow, it looks amazing. Great job and awesome video.
Thank you very much! Glad you like it! 👍😊
Awesome! I just won the original Sisters of Sigmar on ebay and hopefully playing by fall. Great build
Oh that's so awesome! Congratulations! Thank you so much! 👍😊
Tremendous work, I loved it. I just wish you had shown how you made that mechanism that actually worked but I guess that wasn't the point and I understand if maybe time was going against you. Really cool project!
Thank you so much! Yeah showing all of the details is way too time-consuming for this one-man-show! Perhaps one day! 👍😅
5:00 an eye-hook?
That might be it! Thanks for that! 👍😊
Amazing as always! Can I make a suggestion for your next projects? You could make faction specific terrain, like a mausoleum or graveyard for undead.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Interesting! I will think about it! Thanks again! 👍😊
Really cool building and a fun video to watch! Great detailing but I miss two details: stones over arches are always laid in arches or they would collapse. And speaking of collapse, how did stone fall from the castle without ruining the wooden platform?.. :)
Anyhow..
Keep up the good work!
Valid points for sure which I think I down-prioritised in the sake of time! Will do my best! 👍😅
your stuff is always so next level and awesome
I appreciate that! I try do my best! 👍😅
jeez! that's awesome!
Hahahaha! Thank you so much! Very kind of you to say! 👍😊
Looks cool. 🏰
Thank you kindly! 👍😊
Beautiful as always.
Thank you so much! I try my best! 👍😅
Awesome as always!!! 👍👍
Thank you so much! I try my utmost! 👍😅
So sick, man!
Thank you kindly! 👍😊
