There is an idolisation of Harry Kane in the English media that doesnt make any sense at all. He has achieved a lot as a club player, but he is not a leader, especially at international level. The one thing we miss on the field is a leader, someone who makes everyone pull their socks up. Kane simply doesnt do that, he complains a lot to the referee, and thats about it. The best teams have strong leadership which breeds a strong mentality.

IF, if Kane was injured during this tournament and he's decided to hide it from either us or the team, HE COST HIS COUNTRY THE WIN. We could have done so much more with Watkins or Toney playing 45m each in every match this tournament. But instead we got Kane struggling to run around the pitch for well over an hour in every game. And yes, he got a goal or two, but I would be willing to bet that the other two would do just as good.
Correct. Kane should have done the honorable thing, accepted that he just ain't good enough and withdrew himself from selection after the very first game. England carried Kane through the entire tournament. I would have liked for Palmer, Gordon, Toney or Watkins to start games instead of Kane. The caller before was right, Gareth's substitutions weren't a masterclass, it was desperation. He should have read the game and see there was no momentum and should have rung the changes before half time. I don't want to hear Kane is injured, if he wasn't fit then he had no right starting. Southgate's has failed due to his loyalty to players like Kane.

I'm a Spurs fan and I have always said Kane does not turn up for big games look at his record for Spurs in Goals scored in semi - finals and finals. I the Champions League Final many Liverpool supporters have told me they were delighted he was played from the start.

I remember that goal, brilliant free kick by Eriksen, I'm a Spurs fan, when Kane ran away claiming that goal after nearly stopping it going in the net, it told me everything I need to know about him and since the 2019 UCL final where he should have declared himself unfit to start I've never wanted to see him in a Spurs shirt again. Wherever he goes, his goal stats, usually against inferior opposition cover over the fact he doesn't do ultimately what a player of the stature that is bestowed upon him should do in those moments and games when it is critical and true top players do at least 4 or 5 times out of 10. Kane doesn't, never has when it comes to the crunch.

His lack of running was to lure the opposition into a false sense of security, then boom, he pounces with a wonder goal out of nowhere. He did the first part of Southgate's masterplan brilliantly. If you were completely alien to football and you watched these two for the first time, you would never think they played the game. England go long because they can't retain the ball they do not have a player that can set the tempo, and they do not have a style of play. Kane stiffles this team but it will take a brave manager to drop him. To say Spain offered nothing what clear cut chances did England produce. I don't know about Kane, but if I were to guess, I don't think he is injured. Rather, I think he needs to a psychiatrist. I don't see him trying that extra 10% when it comes to finals. He needs to be Englands #1 man, their captain, however, in games he looks lost and is lacking in belief.

I think this match showed the quality of coaching each team had. Southgate is not good enough for England. England's got a great roster of players and they might just be wasted. England's FA should seriously consider a new coach who could implement a balanced with good coaching

It’s really easy. Kane has worked under every management system apart from Southgate’s. He plays with flying wingers. Southgate wants to play with 3 10’s. Bellingham, Foden and Kane doesn’t work and never worked all tournament. We never once looked like breaking down their team with that system. Southgate’s fault once again. No point playing Kane on the pitch under the formation. When Tony came on, that should have been Kane coming on with 10 mins to go to win the game. Not playing 60 minutes of a huge waste of everyone’s time once again with zero shots on goal
