What a 3 pack of songs! Everyone always shits on Delilah, but for real.. the man knew he was about to die and he wanted to make a fun little song for his cat that he loved more then most people.
Only people who don't realise the love Freddie had for everyone in his life wouldn't understand it, even then it's a stretch somebody not understanding a love song, I can relate kinda as the cats I've had over the years I've loved and cared about more than a lot of people I know
I find I comment a LOT on your queen videos... lol Poor John Deacon singing along breaks my heart. His life shattered when he lost Freddie and almost 30 years later still hasn’t recovered. I hope he’s found peace.
I've always wanted to meet him just to say thank you, but I'd be too feared of crying in front of such a humble and amazing person, I hope he's found peace with his family too, we all felt it when Freddie died, the world lost an angel that day, (but heaven gained a God) It broke John though.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of "Delilah", but I do acknowledge it has a certain charm, especially considering his cats helped give Freddie comfort during this point in his life when he was suffering. "Hammer to Fall" is another classic Brian May rocker with a message, although I'm somewhat disappointed you didn't break out the air guitar during Brian's solo! Now, Lamar, here come my suggestions for future Queen reactions: "The Miracle" (often requested, you'll LOVE the video!), "I'm Going Slightly Mad" (a fun, quirky song, equally so with the video despite Freddie's frailty),"Headlong" (I'm really surprised no one has reacted to it, and another chance to "get your Brian May on"), and "Old Friends", Roger Taylor's solo tribute to Freddie. Freddie's cats were his children. He loved them dearly. The song, Dead, All Dead is a song that Brian wrote about his childhood pet cat after she died and his feelings of grief.
@@Chuck-np3ss I have 3 children and I can understand when people believe that their pets are their children. It doesn't bother me, why does this bother you so much?

Aww you have to react to Queen's Mother Love, the last song Freddie recorded but was unable to finish it so Brian May sang the last verse, a ballad full of emotions with meaningful lyrics.. a truly amazing song so very beautifully sang by both of them.. PLUS it's so nice to know that Freddie's last word ever recorded was LOVE! Thank You:)
Brian May was a Genius of Melody and counterpoint..I don't think I have ever heard another guitarist that can literally squeeze so much emotion out of a lead.
Friends Will Be Friends made me a bit teary! Especially with that video! They all look so happy and bouncing off each other! And they were. Now, a serious matter. You still haven't done '39!!!!! How have we got this far without that? Now that you're doing trios that can be fixed in one video - you can do studio version with Brian's vocals and live version with Freddie's. And to round it out you could do something like Some Day One Day.
3 things I love !!! The energy in hammer to fall, one of my favourite queen songs That Freddie is the definition of a “crazy cat lady” 😻 And Johns little face when he sings in Friends will be friends
Yea!!! Queen is back!!! Thank you!!! I think most Queen fans knew that Delilah was a cat. I am very happy Freddie had Delilah with him as his life ended, and I personally think that if Fred wanted that track on his last record, or the last published in his lifetime, he deserved it. So, the song makes me smile. I heard someone say Freddie was a conductor of men. It really shows in all of his live performances. Thanks for sharing more of Queen, and there are so many more early classic Queen tracks to be discovered. The soundtrack of my youth. Great reaction, thanks!
I wonder how many thousands of cats have been named "Delilah" over the last couple of decades... not that there's anything wrong with that... maybe as many as male cats named "Freddie" :)
I played this for my son who is a very big cat lover and kind of just watched for it up til the part about peeing. Then i seen his face and had to laugh. Got him. He liked to song then even more. I dont really understand the reaction of Roger. I mean they all knew how sick Freddie was at this time and after all they made Im In Love with My Car. Why not his cat.
I’m In Love with My Car is pretty shallow with its subject matter (though, countless guys have written songs about cars), but the song itself is very good, with excellent vocals by Roger. Even Brian admits the song is good. Delilah is just weird and childish, like a novelty song. They gave everything to Freddie for years while he was sick, you can’t blame Roger for disagreeing about including this total fluff song.
Fun fact about I’m in love with my car: it’s not about Roger, even though he indeed loves cars, but about a Queen roadie who used to wash and polish his car for comfort.
It is great you are bringing Queen's music to this generation. A few more you may want to do is the album version of, Love of my Life. It is different from others you did. Also The Prophet Song, and the song 39. These all came off A Night at the Opera, which is probably their greatest, and every song is amazing and unique. Also do their first hit Seven Seas of Rhye. I was lucky enough to grow up during their reign. Freddie was the greatest.
Only a star like Fed could get his world-famous band to record a song about his favorite cat... well, except than Brian May's song "All Dead, All Dead" was about his own favorite cat ... (I guess it was/could have been interpreted differently) :)
I don't think Brian told the others that it was about his cat. They had an understanding that they would not discuss song meanings when working. It was later that Brian revealed that the song was partially about his childhood pet cat. Anyway, they released a more recent video with that song with original Brian vocals, and an alternate version with Freddie singing.
Most probably you are right - I never heard that about All Dead until a few years ago -- there's something about allowing fans/people to put their own interpretations onto songs... only "Delilah" was CLEARLY about Freddie's cat.. unless you thought someone else was peeing on his furniture :)
Delilah was the most prominent of his kitties on the vest he wore during "The Days of Our Lives" video. I love how much of a cat person he was. Much like my husband and I. Cat people aren't ALL crazy. We have 3: Eleanor, Rigby, and Meija (pronounced Mia). "MEOW!"
We have two cat siblings that we got as kittens... but knowing our landlord (although he knew we had cats) - didn't want anyone ELSE to know - told us "just don't tell anyone and keep them away from the windows where someone might see them..". brother and sister kittens... we debated what to name them.. then my husband said "it's like with Anne Frank -- they have to live upstairs and not be seen.." -- My response was "that's it! they will be Annie and Frankie!" -- we thought about whether that might be disrespectful.. but chose instead to think of it as a tribute... and not a joke... never joke about that...
You know what? I used to own every Queen album released in the US until I lost them in a fire, and I'm sure I've heard the song Delilah dozens of times if not hundreds (though it was never my favorite), and I never even noticed the line about peeing on the furniture. I definitely didn't realize it was about a cat. Not until right now watching your reaction. Even Queen super fans can still learn something new now and again! I absolutely love Hammer to Fall, though. One of my absolute favorites. And somehow still as relevant today despite the fact that the Cold War ended a couple of decades ago.

This song really can touch deeply. Quite an emotional experience for me. Songs that Freddie wrote always seem to have special associations for me. Thank you Freddie!
My recommended trio include.... Dead on Time Now I'm Here My Melancholy Blues No one is doing these and are among my all time Queen favorites. Even Queen fans forget how incredible these songs are. Buried behind much more popular songs off these respective albums. A nice trio that shows off Queen's depth and diversity.
Love all of these songs...Freddie's love for his favorite cat, Hammer reminding us of our unstable world and how we are all in the same boat, and then John's sweet song about friends (I think is impossible for anyone to know Freddie and not be in love with him). Love your lighter!
I love this song - Friends will be friends- is one of my favorites. Freddie singing in front of fan club members, and at the end cuts the mic and sings along with them, letting them lead. Because of this, this performance was nicknamed "Queen's Greatest Show Never Performed".
L, you're just so damn cute. I love the high energy of "Hammer to Fall". In "Friends Will Be Friends", the lines "when you're in need of care & attention" and "when you're through with life & all hope is lost, friends will be friends right till the end" always gets me. Makes me think of how Brian, Roger & John closed ranks around Freddie, did everything they could to be supportive, even lied to the press to try to protect him. They showed him the truth of those lyrics he'd written. They proved to be the kind of friends that are really family. I love them for that. Please do "Was It All Worth It", where Freddie actually answers that question.
Delilah is a sweet song and brought the real fans a little closer to Freddie's personal life. His second favorite cat was Romeo and had Freddie lived a bit longer, I am sure there would have been a tribute to him as well.
Since you enjoy live performances, a real treat is watching Queen perform at Live Aid. It's considered one the best live performances EVER. It was also was in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, but the movie did not include all the songs Queen performed at Live Aid. The crowd participation is Freakin' amazing! Worth watching the 25-30 minute performance. WOW!!!
I think it’s more of a testament that Freddie in his dying days gave zero shits and was like “ya know what, imma fucking meow on this track and tell my cat how much a love them” lol gotta hand it to him, he did what made him happy
i have been really loving your queen reactions, and hope you keep reacting to a lot more of queen! would really love to see reactions to queen funny moments, documentaries, interviews etc
I enjoy live renditions of "Hammer to Fall" much more, such as the performance at Live Aid mentioned in the video. It's played at a higher tempo, making it a bit more energetic, and it feels more raw. Also, I LOVE "Friends Will Be Friends." Nothing much to say except that him singing "Right 'til the end," sounds amazing, especially in live performances.
Loved this! Especially Friends Will Be Friends! And Delilah, which I had never heard before so we got to experience it together! You should react to Bohemian Rhapsody (Live at Rock Montreal), I really think you would love it!!
Love your reactions and research ,have a listen to the miracle , you will think your going crazy watching the video ,music perfect ,lyrics as relevant today as back then ,thank you ,good luck x
Delilah was his favorite. I heard he had 10 cats he rescued them from shelters and loved cats that's what drew me to him .my kind of man I love his vest he wears with his cats on it in his video those were the days of our lives!!! It says a friend of his made it for him.
I knew it was about his cat! He had many! Delilah was like a baby to him. He loved all of his cats. Tiffany was the only full breed cat he had. It was a gift to him by Mary. He cried when one of his cats died and demanded he fly home and he went home to see the cat and bury it.
if i remember correctly, it was joe, freddie's personal chef, who found delilah and another cat, goliath to add to his two other cats. delilah was the princess and would sleep in the laundry basket. freddie loved cats...and koi fish. and when asked about having a baby with mary, he said, 'i'd rather have another cat.' not the whole quote, of course, but that's the main idea.
kyaaa Freddie had 10 cats living with him and Delilah was the alpha cat among them. She had an entire suite to herself. AND according to Jim Hutton, Freddie died petting her. She stayed by Freddie’s side to the bitter end!
Freddie fighting to have a song about his cat on an album and Roger fighting to have a song about his car. This band keeps getting funnier and I just love it.
Friends will be friends - another video featuring the members of the Queen fan club 😊 Trying the think which songs you haven’t reacted to yet....plenty of live stuff (including live aid!!) Too many others to think of.... Headlong Was it all worth it My melancholy blues You don’t fool me Gimme the prize Too much love will kill you Ride the wild wind Brighton Rock
Fun fact...this is actually the second Queen song about a cat. Brian May has said that he wrote the song "All Dead, All Dead" (from the News of the World Album) in memory of a cat he had as a child that died and was the first time he had to deal with death on a personal basis
Hammer to Fall sounds like a kick ass rock anthem, but lyrically it's about the fear of war and ultimately the fear of death. The hammer they are waiting on to fall is the hammer of a gun.
Freddie loved his cats 🐈☺️. Sweet. First time I heard the song. I had no idea it was about a cat. Then I heard about pee....🙄🤔 Then meow meow meow. 🎵🎶 Was a giveaway 😅
Must check out and do reaction for queens live aid performance hammer to fall is off the chart as well as radio ga ga! Can’t wait for you to do queen @ live aid
I imagine Freddie and Deaky writing this song about friendship together and then 2 years later Freddie told his bandmates he was sick, no need to be surprised if John took it so badly and left the music business for good.
I knew Delilah was going to be a little different because I knew it was the name of one of his cats. They were his babies, different people that would take care of them when he was on tour said he would call home and tell them to put the phone by his cats so he could talk to them. I like it that you look up information on the song. It is nice to know a little about it.
Hammer to Fall is slowed down. I hope you can find a better version. I think you would have a better appreciation of this song. I believe it's on live aid. Thank you L. Edit: Ah, they took it down. Love the lighter! You make me ☺☺☺
It's not slowed down... but it will sound that way if you're used to hearing the faster-tempo-ed Live Aid version... I've been playing the crap out of that, ha.
Huge Queen fan! Love your videos. A good video to check out is Mumford and sons with Baba Maal live in South Africa ( there will be time is the title). Amazing blend of cultures through music. You have to see it live though.
Delilah: I think this song is sweet. Downright adorable. I love the deception with this song. One thing I love to do is to listen to this song with non-Queen fans and see how long it takes them to realize it’s about a cat. But also a really sweet gesture that a dying man would take the time to make a song about his favorite feline. That’s a good kitty daddy 😻 Hammer to fall: as someone who suffers from extreme paranoia, i can relate with this song because I have had those times when I hear something bad might happen and I just wait for the hammer to fall Friends will be friends: one of my absolute favorite Queen songs. It’s a shame it wasn’t as big of a hit as Mercury or Deacon were expecting it to be because I feel like it could bring a lot of people together. Plus they way Freddie sings this song is like he’s singing it to a friend and it actually feels kinda soothing. I know it’s weird but it’s the feeling i get. Great set of songs that really deserve more attention! Great job!

Also, I LOVE "Friends Will Be Friends." Nothing much to say except that him singing "Right 'til the end," sounds amazing, especially in live performances.
PLEASE PLEASE react to Queen/Freddie singing 'Save Me' (Live) amazing vid!!
He used to call from the road to "talk" to his cats :-). The man loved his kitties 😍😺😺😺😺
Loved this! Especially Friends Will Be Friends! And Delilah, which I had never heard before so we got to experience it together! You should react to Bohemian Rhapsody (Live at Rock Montreal), I really think you would love it!!
If you look at his last public video of Days of our lives, he had that shirt made with cats on it to represent his love of his cats.
Play the gameeeeee 🙏🏽
So glad you did "Hammer to Fall." I was going to recommend it.
LOL- Your expression is priceless. Meow!
I hope you get around to reacting to some of the B-Sides. There are some forgotton treasures there.
😊😊😊😊😊thank you.x
if i remember correctly, it was joe, freddie's personal chef, who found delilah and another cat, goliath to add to his two other cats. delilah was the princess and would sleep in the laundry basket. freddie loved cats...and koi fish. and when asked about having a baby with mary, he said, 'i'd rather have another cat.' not the whole quote, of course, but that's the main idea.
kyaaa Freddie had 10 cats living with him and Delilah was the alpha cat among them. She had an entire suite to herself. AND according to Jim Hutton, Freddie died petting her. She stayed by Freddie’s side to the bitter end!
You always make me smile with your reactions.
Friends will be friends reminds me of studying at home for my German, French, Japanese and Music tests in 86/87
Freddie really loved his kitties. And anyone who didn’t know Delilah was about a cat realized it when the meows came in I hope😜
Freddie fighting to have a song about his cat on an album and Roger fighting to have a song about his car. This band keeps getting funnier and I just love it.
Would love to see you check out I’m Going Slightly Mad or Back Chat next!! Love following your Queen journey
Ah yes! I’ve missed the Queen reactions! 😍
Queen is Love ❤️ forever! Thank you for your interest in the Queen!👍🏻
Friends will be friends - another video featuring the members of the Queen fan club 😊

I LOOOOVE Ride the Wild Wind. I mean, all the songs you listed, but something about Wild Wind. Something about that song,
Scandal thats a good one😊
👏👏👏👏 👌😊
Still waiting on The Miracle !! Outstanding Official Video . Thanks Joe in LA
QUEEN ‘39 LIVE AT EARLS COURT
Fun fact...this is actually the second Queen song about a cat. Brian May has said that he wrote the song "All Dead, All Dead" (from the News of the World Album) in memory of a cat he had as a child that died and was the first time he had to deal with death on a personal basis
Hammer to Fall sounds like a kick ass rock anthem, but lyrically it's about the fear of war and ultimately the fear of death. The hammer they are waiting on to fall is the hammer of a gun.
The Miracle video reacting, please. You're gonna have a lot of fun of that video!!!
Freddie loved his cats 🐈☺️. Sweet. First time I heard the song. I had no idea it was about a cat. Then I heard about pee....🙄🤔 Then meow meow meow. 🎵🎶 Was a giveaway 😅
The lighter made me laugh!
Please do Scandal!
In the Friends Will Be Friends video the crowd was actually made up of the Official Queen Fan Club members.
Must check out and do reaction for queens live aid performance hammer to fall is off the chart as well as radio ga ga! Can’t wait for you to do queen @ live aid
great reaction as usual
I imagine Freddie and Deaky writing this song about friendship together and then 2 years later Freddie told his bandmates he was sick, no need to be surprised if John took it so badly and left the music business for good.
I LOVE your reactions 👌🏻
I knew Delilah was going to be a little different because I knew it was the name of one of his cats. They were his babies, different people that would take care of them when he was on tour said he would call home and tell them to put the phone by his cats so he could talk to them. I like it that you look up information on the song. It is nice to know a little about it.
I love hammer to fall. For me it is the sound of the 80s and the cold War.
Crowd reaction? Love of my life live in rio
This is true . She peed all over his
GORGEOUS Drapes. He used to call the house when he was on tour to talk to the cats.😁❤
Best live version of this is Wembley 1986. I’ve never heard them rock it out so hard, it’s brilliant.
That’s a good kitty daddy 😻
Hammer to fall: as someone who suffers from extreme paranoia, i can relate with this song because I have had those times when I hear something bad might happen and I just wait for the hammer to fall
Friends will be friends: one of my absolute favorite Queen songs.
Great job!
