    Do you have a link or a part number for the air dam clips?

    If you use a 7/32 drill you can reuse the phillips retaining pins

    The secret to those goofy phillips retaining pins is to hold the "exterior" still while loosening the phillips screw. The problems is that the entire pin spins with the screw and hence the screw never comes out. Once you get it out about a 1/4 inch just yank it out with a pair of pliers. Then use a pin removal tool "look like the claw on a hammer" to get the rest of the pin out.

      T2003Cubs Good point! I didn't think of that.

    Without even having watched this yet (and being a wise arse), I think it depends on your end goal as to how easy it can be to remove a JK bumper. I've already spent the better part of Sunday hacking, way too slowly removing nuts from the bolts holding that bumper on. So if you really wanna be quick and efficient, take a sawzall with a 14tpi blade and just cut it off at the frame rails. In my case as in most others, we're going to replace it with something else. So it must still be a usable situation when you're done. Therefore, take your time when needed. Lots of PB Blaster and WD 40 and patience. If you could care less about the stock bumper as I do, just saw between the fog lights on each side (after assuring there are no wires in the path) and again the last 8-9 inches of the bumper toward the outside. Then get busy getting those damn nuts off (😁, grab her later ad do that last part again). Have fun (Just kidding, it sucks)

    Great video, I'll be doing it soon. Can you tell me what dropped on the floor when you lifted the old bumper? Sounded like metal pieces. Thanks!

      Mark Lags Yes, you heard right. there are 2 metal rectangle pieces on each side that act like washers to sandwich the bumper to the frame.

    Great video. Very informational. I do however find it strange that you play music while your also playing the audio of your voice. Luckily i have headphones in so i can just take out the left one. If you want people to clearly hear what your saying either dont play music with your voice audio, or lower the volume of the music by about 65-75% when your speaking.
    Just my 2 cents
    Still great video!

      tyryd11able thanks buddy! I try to do that with the audio levels but I don't always get it right. Thanks for the feedback!

    how big is socket wrench did u use , I can't open with the one I have I believe I need a bigger one

      @KarveOverland  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haidar amiry I did most of the wrenching with a medium sized wrench and various short and long extensions to reach everything. The bolts shouldn't be too tight but they may be rusted on. PB blaster penetration oil might help.

      Karve Overland thanks for the reply brother , I'll try the oil thing although the car is only 1 year old it shouldn't be Rusty yet haha, I don't know what's the problem

    how do remove just the cover (plastic)

    • @KarveOverland
      @KarveOverland  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Magi M unfortunately as far as I have seen the plastic cover on the top doesn't come all the way off the bumper comes off. it will slide side to side once the retainers are popped out if you need to access something underneath it.

    why did you even bother replacing your stock bumper with another stock bumper? you literally could have got a grinder or a sawzall and cut the ends of your stock bumper off.

      Kareem Christopher I definitely would! already gave that one away but I've upgraded to steel now and I'm giving away the stubby bumper if you happen to be in southern Indiana!
