One of the best tracks from one of, if not the best, live albums of all time. Wonderfully distorted bass line from Nic Potter and chaotic and frenetic finale from all. All time classic. Absolutely superb.
/// The next song is a little bit odd - about - yes - well may you laugh. It's odd perhaps in its simplicity. It has two occupants of the scenario both of them a little bit fictional, and somehow or other they, or he or she or it, are there in a room, and they're trying to work out where the door is." ///. He's a blind man, crouching by the pavement Only seeing with his third eye And clutching at the astral shadow Of every passer-by He's a wise man, trumping all the answers; She's a wild girl, trying to keep his feet on the floor In whispered physical litanies: "Stay away from the door." "Oh, but we're all in this together," he says "three-legged race across the floor; If only you'd loosen the handkerchief Then I'd forget the door." "Ooh, that feels so much better," he says "now you forget everything that I've said before And sit there all by yourself While I walk through the door." They're a blind man, crouching by the pavement Only seeing with his third eye And clutching at the astral shadow Of the door of a room Called 'I'

thank you,for non english speakers is hard to understand ,always wonder what he's saying on that introduction,that i get it only in parts.Buy Vital in 1982 ,to me is one the best live albums,January 78,the peak of punk and this is to me a punk record by a unique prog band.The finale with Nadir's asserts that.London ,Marquee,I would love to be there even in those hard Thacher days but i was 14,and here in Bs. As. were the ominous military Junta
Got this album since many years ago,and with english as a second language,never understand exactly what he says in that introduction,always heard he says "old" not "odd",thanks !

He's a blind man, crouching by the pavement
Only seeing with his third eye
And clutching at the astral shadow
Of every passer-by
He's a wise man, trumping all the answers;
She's a wild girl, trying to keep his feet on the floor
In whispered physical litanies:
"Stay away from the door."
"Oh, but we're all in this together," he says
"three-legged race across the floor;
If only you'd loosen the handkerchief
Then I'd forget the door."
"Ooh, that feels so much better," he says
"now you forget everything that I've said before
And sit there all by yourself
While I walk through the door."
They're a blind man, crouching by the pavement
Only seeing with his third eye
And clutching at the astral shadow
Of the door of a room
Called 'I'
Over the many years of enjoying prog rock, Hammill (and/or VDGG) have the most consistent legs to them.
Can't believe it,s live. Utterly astounding !

One of the funniest, wryest, driest introductions to a live song ever. I enjoy it almost as much as the song.
Rob Halford, Screamiiiiiiiiiing for vengeance :) !
