- Battlefield 2042 1.2 Patch released today with some good changes. A new version of kaleidoscope, Aim Assist buff, tonal shifts, weapon nerfs and more! Let's take a look. Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
Anyone else think the graphics are a bit better after this update? I’m not sure 🤔

Yeah, I noticed how the water textures look WAAAAY better than before
Maybe 🤔 could just be the fact the game looks better a bit darker and more background effects (smoke, missiles, etc…) vs a bright clean aesthetic.
I’m still playing BF4, so the answer is maybe.
Just let this game die a painless death and focus on fun games/content
In that pace we will have the full release of Battlefield 2042 in a few years. Can’t wait to get out of early access stage in the year 2024.

@@artyom5659 Sometimes less is more. People usually stick to one or two specialists and nobody really cooperate organically the way they did with a class system. 4 classes did bring more variety in gameplay than the current specialists.

Imo sundance does not look changed at all, nor does it look battle hardened to me. Sundance still looks like a generic millennial character designed in 2020.

I haven’t played much so I honestly don’t really know what the maps look like off memory… but I can tell this looks a lot more war torn, more cover and atmosphere instead of pristine clean - which is certainly better now

I only played the beta
A bit, I think the cleanliness of the maps has to do with the skybox & general textures on objects. Adding fires in the distance and some smoke plumes would make this game feel so much more immersive.
They were suppose to be adding more objects to take cover behind as part of the update. Not just for this match but others too. People weren’t happy because there was too much open space with no cover so it was making it hard to move around without getting shot every time.

Probably the biggest problem I have in this game is how bright peoples name tags are.
I’m constantly finding myself just aiming and shooting under the name tags because I can’t actually see the person.
Just like jack did when he shot that guy in the smoke at the beginning.
(Also virtually no destruction but I don’t think they will fix that problem)
The only thing that would make me come back to battlefield is if they scrap the specialist system and bring back the class system.
That’s cool, they aren’t gonna do that lmao.

Looks a lot better. Needs more bomb craters though, in between or on top of the hills. Buildings need to be destroyed as well, I want a crater in at least 2 buildings by the coast.
Yeha I dont unterstand why they destroyed the sculpture in the park, but everything around is basically clean. Imagine a crater coming from the street towards the sculpture, with burning embers. Feels weird still...
still have to run 300 meters between objs
better than that would be if we could cause this kind of damage over the buildings.

This is what they should’ve done before release.
The maps they added were literally just clean slates like a map in halo made for use in forge and now they are just adding the extras but it's looking promising honestly the maps vibe is totally changed

Wouldn't that be an interesting design philosophy for maps. Every season, the maps would become more war torn or bombed out. More damage.

Restore character classes, remove specialists and it will start to look like it's going in the right direction
I think if they wanted specialists, they would have been better off using the four core classes, and then locking certain specialists to those classes. There's no reason any one class, for example a medic, should be able to use any equipment or weapon in the game

Seriously what happened to the hype around Destruction, being able to tear down a house like in BFBC2 was tons of power to the player on what the map should look like during battle.
So satisfying to get rid of campers. Now destruction is fully eliminated...???
Pretty wild. Even in BF3, shooting through a concrete wall with a tank was so legit. Sniper/AT on the roof? Put the roof on the ground. Even BF4 had *some* destructible environments, albeit limited. They've ruined so much of what made Battlefield Battlefield. Now it's post-Ghosts COD

This is Widescreen, 16:9. I believe you mean ultrawide which in the case of it displaying properly on your phone, possibly 21:9
Main thing I noticed are the hourglass capture radius are very different, especially both E points were changed. Example E2 could not be captured outside the structure (dome)
My buddy and I have been playing this non stop. It’s coming along slowly but it’s playable and fun! The maps are the only thing really holding it back.
If only it was this good when it was released

I didn't know this until recently, you can double tap ping to danger anything. Really useful if you know where an enemy is but isn't in line of sight.
I feel like this is going to be one of those battlefield games we’re the release of the game is awful, but over a couple of years they slowly figure the game out and it turns out amazing. We can only hope
Same happened with BF4 and same somewhat happened with BFV (to some but not all)

The changes to the map are cool. I also happened to get the ghost maker today so the two went hand in hand.

The lost Battlefield game. I don't care what they do this was dead on arrival and just sticking the body in the microwave to warm it up isn't convincing me it's alive.
All we have to hope is they've learned their lesson for the next one.
Honestly really digging these changes from what I've seen. I would say that they are going the right direction, slowly.
The updates to this map are some of the most subpar changes I've ever seen. The map is 90% the same except a few spots.
And it took like 3 months for them to do this
I didn’t notice at first when I played but they made all the capture points bigger. They changed the down animation you don’t hold your one arm out anymore.

I've been playing lately and honestly having a blast the performance issues are way better feels way more smooth a little fast like cod but nothing to crazy. The only reason I get off is because the small amount of maps and not playing with friends.
I feel ya. Playing with friends always made a huge difference with any BF game.
performance on i7 9700 & rtx 2070 still sucks
Definitely enjoying it a lot more now, I'd stop playing for a good few months but I'm back and enjoying it

It's crazy how their older games look better
As someone who has never played this game or sene this map, I can definitely confirm that they’re heading in the right direction with this new patch.
Speaking of elevators, my apartment here in Canada completely skips floor 13 in number.
I still can’t believe that this game doesn’t have servers outside portal. And even when you find one, you are kicked out at the end of every match. This kills the game for me. Makes the game lose every sense of progression and community. Feels like I’m just playing a random demo, killing bots, a warmup. Unbelievable.
No matter what changes they make, this game is still a major downgrade from previous titles. I’ve been calling this avengers 2042 with Spider-Man being the grappling hook, Batman being the wing suit, and captain America being dozer with the shield. If they just removed these silly super hero specialists it might just be worth playing, but until then there is nothing that can make me return.

I'm not sure what the nerfs to the BSV/PP-29 or stealth helo are exactly, they're still shredding anything that moves.
It'd be cool if Kaleidoscope got its own map rotation for a week to see the new additions. They're pretty nice, just wish breakthrough added in more zones.
Also, I don't think the Wildcat got buffed either. Shooting stealth helos for ages and its not even setting them on fire anymore. Furthermore, they seem to be doing less damage over range than before, despite apparently removing the range on damage. Neither the nerfs nor the buffs seem to have actually done anything.
Lol I never noticed that elevator F! Here in NYC there are some buildings that don't have a labeled 13th floor as well!
I still struggle to think of this as anything but an insult to the playerbase.
It has this boatload of potential, but the people behind it seem to be catatonic in regards to fixing it properly.

This is true. And the FPS is actually playable again, still not like it was during Pre-order early access, and not the same settings though, and the stutter still seems to be there. Installing the update was hell though, it gave so many issues that I just deleted the game and re-installed, and even that had an issue with it.

Even with the added cover elements, I don't find the map that interesting.
I feel like the gimmick for the map was the objectives on the towers… unfortunately those were terrible for gameplay so now it’s just any other map.
So… no destruction, no server browser, no persistent servers, cannot play with more than 4 friends, plays like Hardline but worse somehow, but hey, they added a goatee and some forklifts on the map!👍👍
American casinos "skip" a floor because it's an unlucky number, I can't remember the number though. Kinda cool seeing other countries do the same stuff.

Most elevators in the States don't have a 13th floor button either for the same reason.
I want this game to succeed. But these baby steps in the right direction are not cutting it. Season 2 better be massive or players are just not going to be interested.

In China 4 is also removed (or they have parking up to the 4th, apartments after) because the sound/pronunciation is very similar to "death"... something like that
Do you edit out getting slaughtered by choppers? You seem to get a lot of infantry action, and not a lot vehicle trauma. Half our deaths are from vehicles, they are so oppressive, but you rarely seem to run into them.
Getting farmed by vehicles doesn't make for especially good content, so I wouldn't be surprised if he edits around a lot of those deaths
In the US many buildings don't have a 13th floor, they just skip from 12 to 14. People are weird.
The harassing choppers in this video were so fun to watch, made the game so much cooler...

Teamwork is one of the most beautiful things to watch on videos. You can go anywhere to watch a skilled player murdering everyone. What REALLY makes a good video is an individual play a compelling game. Give us humanity, compassion, teamwork, AND murdering everyone! That is why you are a legend brother!

Biggest problem still in the battlefield franchise is the 60% of the map being a dead zone where nothing happens and you spend half of the match running
Yea the map is really darker …. At first I thought my TV was set incorrectly. Until I find out that all settings are correct.
Kaleidoscope is somewhat the same map for Ps4, i get it that they changed it only for cover but i would really love to fight in this kind of military base but its out of bounce. We had bigger maps in bf4,1,5 and block access to the most fun (in my opinion) part of the map because its "to big" for Ps4 standarts.

I am glad they haven't given up on it. They have made some huge improvements since launch and I am pretty impressed.

i think they should completely turn half the map into a hellish burned down city, ruins of what use to stand there, while the other half is heavily fortified. like its the last hope for defences.
Ive playing since day one and I really like these changes. Gives me hope for the next map reworks and new ones.
Also , why use a Med pen when you can use a Health Bag and heal all your teammates ? Plus you have limited supply of pens , no ?
Same here. Been playing since launch and I still enjoy it. Totally agree with the pen. Falk's heal gun is great too when you just aim at the floor near your feet. Quick fix.
that health crate is so buggy, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt for ages. angel can resupply as well so he can just keep dropping supply crates.

Removing specialists would probably be the best they could offer to try and restore playerbase

I’ve been having a blast on this game. I am a very critical game enjoyer, I truly enjoyed the four hours I spent playing with a buddy. Definitely recommend reinstalling it :). Or wait for a sale, it is actually fun.

The only specialist who doesn't need any changes is Irish aside from the voice lines possibly

I'm still glad I haven't bought any BF since Battlefield One. This looks something came out in 2010 between BF2142 and BF3

In Asia, the number four is pronounced similar to the word for death, "she" (4=四、death=死). Therefore no fourth floor. Just like many western buildings don't have a floor 13 as it's unlucky.
Many? I've never been in a building that's over 13 floors tall where it was omitted. This is one of the dumbest things I've heard in a long time.
