no disrespect but legend larry bird wasn't quite as elite as michael jordan and scottie pippen wasn't as elite as stars robert parish and kevin mchale so the 1996 bulls weren't quite as elite the 1986 celtics
Pay attention to how the Bulls dominated the offensive glass. The Bulls had 24 offensive rebounds in this game, and overall outrebounded Seattle 51 to 35. Dennis Rodman led the way with 19 rebounds... 11 offensive. Seattle had 12 offensive rebounds as a team. Jordan had 9 rebounds, Pippen and Longley had 8 each.

This was the thing that was missing with the 73-9 Warriors. While the Warriors showed their dominance in the regular season, their fatigue showed throughout the playoffs. Struggled to a 4 seed Blazers, despite winning 4-1, nearly got booted out by OKC, and then got to the Cavs series trying to hide their fatigue and weariness using their aggression and cockiness (especially Klay Thompson pregame 5) only to give up the last 3 games, 2 of them at their once dominant Oracle Arena. Jordan and the Bulls kept their heads up and dominated all throughout the playoffs. The Supersonics series was a bit of a scare because of them forcing Game 6, but the Bulls were very resilient and never let their mental guards down, not like the Warriors.
The Bulls showed that they can win even when their superstar was having an off game. MJ was held down to just 22 points and his shooting was woeful, shooting 5 of 19 from the field. But the other Bulls stepped up their game. Scottie Pippen - 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals Luc Longley - 12 points, 8 rebounds Ron Harper and Toni Kukoc - 10 points each Dennis Rodman - 9 points, 19 rebounds (11 offensive rebounds) and putting Shawn Kemp off his game Steve Kerr - 7 points MJ knowing his shots weren’t going down maintained his high level of Basketball IQ in his part, finding ways to score from the line hitting 11 of 12 FTs and playing the role of facilitator, helping his teammates to score while grabbing 9 rebounds and handing 7 assists to compensate his poor shooting. The 96-98 Bulls team isn’t all about MJ and Pippen anymore.
@@RichardHomolka Nope, nice try. But you can see Randy going after it when Kukoc has it, first at 15:48. There is another, longer angle of this, where you can see he is clearly grabbing the ball and MJ snatches it back to his chest.

It’s sad , kids born in the 2000s slobbing all over lebron , have to discredit and trash mjs era and competition , to prop up LeBrons career . The game today isn’t the same as it was back in the 90s . It’s become a softer league , no hand checking , less defense aggressiveness , more 3 point shot jacking . The klutch narratives try and make it seem as if the sonics weren’t a great team . It’s sad to hear all that , because these teams were amazing , and the game was at its peek in the golden age of basketball .
You misinterpret. Jordan was taking that moment for himself to connect with his father who was killed before his first retirement and wanted him there to witness the game
Sound drunk asl. 1996 Bulls would give GS problems. GS always struggled against teams who were physical and the Bulls were loaded from top to bottom that they could play big or small against GS
Michael Jordan is the most overrated player I've ever seen. I have been studying full game highlights for weeks and he isn't what old heads tell you he is.
I WATCHED EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF EVERY SINGLE GAME!!!!!🏀🏀🏀💯💯💯
Noone talks about how good the 96 sonics was too, MJ tha 🐐 kept alot of other greats thru the 90s from winning 🏆 s

damn man still ever time I see him balling on that floor thinking about his pops and winning on Father's day always chokes me up

Dennis Rodman was the star of this game... 9 points 19 rebounds 11 offensive rebounds 5 assists 3 steals 1 block 0 turnovers in 38 minutes
And, per usual, he was all business all the time… What a terrific player
So he had 30 rebounds that's really good
@mellonhead6180 No... he had 19 rebounds of which 11 were offensive.
Draymond can be that guy if he had the right fuses

one who controls the rebound controls the game
This made me remember how dominant their defense was. Even when the offense struggled that D was overwhelming!
