Agreed! And that just might be THE ULTIMATE live Blues Rock album! NOT to take away from Jimi, Clapton, Zeppelin or any of the other giants but FM/Live is INCREDIBLE!
From Rockpalast archive and from the video itself, the concert was recorded on 17.09.1983, and the lineup is : Peter Haycock - Guitar, vocals Colin Cooper - Saxophone, vocals, harp George Glover - Keyboards, vocals John 'Rhino' Edwards - Bass, vocals Jeff Rich - Drums
this video always starts at 55:36 whenever I come to watch it because I am so captured by Rhino's bass solo that I just watch it repeatedly hehe :) (I mean I watch the whole concert too but I am very much here for Rhino ;P)
Wonderful to have this show, thanks. But I think we could see things getting a little dodgy then, and they wouldn't be together much longer. Such a shame that they didn't stay together (and free). RIP Pete and Colin - both of you Shine On...
I want to see them play Amerita/Sense of Direction live. I had never heard of this band, when in late 1977 I found an LP of theirs in the bargain bin. Got home and put it on to hear Amerita/Sense of Direction and was blown away. Remains in my top favorites to this day.
I agree. I bought that LP in a bargain bin in the 70s also and also thought Amerita/Sense of Direction was special. In fact I happened to play that today after not hearing it for some time and then went on TH-cam to see if there was concert footage - I saw your comment and I couldn't resist sharing the memory.
Just the same, in France, in 1977, I bought "Lucky For some" in a scum bin, with a kerf in the cover. I loved the whole album immediately, and particuliarly "Last Chance Saloon", a perfect blues... They are since then one of my favorite bands... RIP Colin and Peter.
thanks for a fine Upload ... Highlights: the Blues Harp throughout is a pleasant surprise ... 46:30 "Couldn't Get It Right" .... and at 1:12:16 a fun Cover of the Elmore James Blues Classic "Dust My Broom" ...
Couldn't Get It Right was the absolute worst song they ever made. It ended the band, turned the leftovers into an over the hill disco band when Heycock left. They should have stuck to the blues.
This is a lot heavier and rockin' than I remember the Climaxers being (no complaint there!) I guess my knowledge of the band is limited to "Couldn't Get it Right" and "Stamp Album" era. I guess it's time to investigate the band further!
I was a teen when I recorded a live concert on cassette ( 1979 ) that was broadcast on radio and liked the group since then but this concert seems to feature 80s songstyle which i really dont like so much
They didn't play I Love You because Derek Holt left the band (he wrote and sang it) and Colin Cooper refused to ever play it. Sad, had the original guys stayed together, they could have become legendary!
That's him indeed. His voice and his face. And at 35:20, Colin says "Peter's gonna play some slide guitar...", and also at 40:35 "... for Peter Haycock".
After watching the first 2 minutes of noise i turned it off. What kind of rank amateurs do that? Tune your guitar before the show....sound check before the show and just come out and play.. pretentious AF for a band with one good song.
It was 40 years ago....amazing. Thank you for sharing
You're welcome
R.I.P. Pete and Collin... Such a great band
:'(
Rhino Edwards on bass and Jeff Rich on drums, after they left Julie Tzuke and before they joined Status Quo - great rhythm section!
to me FM Live will always be the definitive CBB line-up with Derek Holt on bass
Agreed! And that just might be THE ULTIMATE live Blues Rock album! NOT to take away from Jimi, Clapton, Zeppelin or any of the other giants but FM/Live is INCREDIBLE!
When I had 12 years old, the album "Gold Plated" just change my mind and my way to listen music forever... Such wonderful band... cheers from Brazil

Nothing quite as exciting as watching a band tuning up for 1 1/2 minutes before they start playing!
saw them five times in the seventies "gues im gonna reap what i have sewn is my fave with going to new york
Wonderful to have this show, thanks. But I think we could see things getting a little dodgy then, and they wouldn't be together much longer. Such a shame that they didn't stay together (and free). RIP Pete and Colin - both of you Shine On...
thanks for the post…great band from back in the day.
I want to see them play Amerita/Sense of Direction live. I had never heard of this band, when in late 1977 I found an LP of theirs in the bargain bin. Got home and put it on to hear Amerita/Sense of Direction and was blown away. Remains in my top favorites to this day.

comm 42 very underatred band i saw them supporting jeff beck around this time
saw them three times reap what i sow my fave and going to new york
Awesome band, Thanks.
The great voice of Colin Cooper...Couldn't get it right!
Couldn't get it right always reminds me of New York .
Great voice and lyrics.
nog één van de miskende bluesbands - zeer te genieten
This stuff is Gold... Thanks for posting, Stefan!
...great band
Pete will always be my favourite guitar player. Eric C.? Joe B.? No way (: So glad I got to see him twice in his late days!
Better than Joe B? You're insane! :)
You're kidding me? Joe B.? I'm talking about serious guitar playing, man!
+TheWolfbass Bonamassa is a guitar prodigy. ala Satriani and J Beck.
No, he's not. He's noodel-di-doodel-di-noodel.
+TheWolfbass that is funny. I have to give you that
I was A US soldier in Germany in the field when this shit, 2/22 4th brigade 4th division mech No radios no tv

Never heard the band play Dust My Broom until today. Great show, but missed Derek Holt and John C.
They're tuning up on stage, with the mains on? Wow.
Thank you!!! Stefan Raupp
This is after Derek Holt and John Cuffley (drummer) left.
great!
Sax players all should have a voice that sounds like his...makes sense
This is a lot heavier and rockin' than I remember the Climaxers being (no complaint there!) I guess my knowledge of the band is limited to "Couldn't Get it Right" and "Stamp Album" era. I guess it's time to investigate the band further!
Jeff R. A lot of bottle

Anyone have their 1976 Rockpalast video?
George Glover with a Korg Polysix synth...
Colin Cooper Project - Making Whoopie
Any one knows which guitar he's playing here?
Thanx 🎸
If your still looking for the answer, I know.
Rhino !!!
Don't know what made me watch this, I've only ever heard "Couldn't Get It Right". Pleased I did though, it was alright.
The most famous "I Love You" I know you have heard but they didn't play it here...
They didn't play I Love You because Derek Holt left the band (he wrote and sang it) and Colin Cooper refused to ever play it. Sad, had the original guys stayed together, they could have become legendary!
he ist the guitar player with the curlies :-)
, the pink jeans and the violet shirt
Pete Haycock of course.
Stefan Raupp
46:30 Couldn’t Get It Right
That doesn't look like Peter Haycock on lead vocals, but I don't think he left the band until '85, so it must be him with a different hairdo.
That's him.
That's him indeed. His voice and his face. And at 35:20, Colin says "Peter's gonna play some slide guitar...", and also at 40:35 "... for Peter Haycock".
OK, thanks guys.

The one song that's decent, I Love You, and they don't pay it...suck it!
After watching the first 2 minutes of noise i turned it off. What kind of rank amateurs do that? Tune your guitar before the show....sound check before the show and just come out and play.. pretentious AF for a band with one good song.
You know nothing, John Snow , haha. (www.allmusic.com/artist/climax-blues-band-mn0000158451/discography)
Wow.... The sound tech butchered this show. 😨
