    Can you do a video on how to chose your first short board or second surf board after surfing a long board

    • @marmalpa
      @marmalpa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for recommending that idea for an upcoming design feature . There’s actually a lot to cover when it comes to that topic as there a lot of options to choose from that could all work, but proper sizes and dimensions are key to get right for each type of person depending no their weight , and type of waves they plan to surf . I’ll start thinking 🤔 carefully about how to map all that info out so it will be helpful to many .

    I don’t like wide tails they lack snap . Thumb tails and pin tails are more of my style .

    Please help me choose my first surf board. I am a women, first time surfing, 140 pounds and my height is 5 feet, fearless.😇I am just so confused. Thank you for all your videos. Blessings of the freedom of surfing 🏄‍♀️.

    • @marmalpa
      @marmalpa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Zuketa! You don’t necessarily need to go out and buy a longboard to start out . I’d recommend a Fun Board or what they call a Mini Mal. For your size and weight a 7’4 to 7’8 would be fine and around 20 to 21 wide . Your fearlessness will help with learning , but also be careful and know your limits when it comes to choosing the right kind of surf . Good luck !

      Andrew seidensticker , thank you so much! I can’t wait! I always feel peace in the ocean and always enjoy being one with the waves. The ocean gives me some sort of healing and peace that I have never felt before and I do not know how, but I have swam very far fearlessly, never thinking about any sharks or anything.... I can be in it forever and sit on a beach forever. Now it is time to surf the waves and feel more connected and be a kid again. Blessings of having fun! 😇-Suketa

      @@SuketaPatel that’s awesome, thanks for sharing . Surf for life and you will always have that peace and joy and much more . I’m on 40 years of surfing and enjoying the ocean and feel so blessed And always stay true to this. I never take this surfing life for granted , especially now that I’m turning a half century old in January . Enjoy and be one with Mother Nature 😜🙌🏻🤙🏼

    Hey! love you guys & been following with the iSurfTribe for years! 2 things: 1) PRAISE! thanks for putting out such amazing content & videos ... really THANK YOU!!! I love your channel & love love love geeking out here! 2) MAJOR BEEF (with surf macho cult in general ... I'm not picking on you specifically) can you PLEASE please do me & all of the other girls & women out there a MASSIVE justice & be mindful of super gender biased surf lingo ... seriously ... I've been on the quest for a good "bigger guys" board even though I'm neither BIG nor a GUY :/ ... I'm just saying ... can't we just call it an beg/intermediate FUN board and call it that?! or just "heavier surfers"? ;) ......... THANK YOU ;) & aloha from Mexico!

    All wrong.
    Width front, centre, tail
    length
    thickness
    rocker, nose, tail, centre
    profile, nose, forward and behind centre, tail
    rail profiles centre and tail
    These are the aspects of a surfboard. The tail shape bla bla bla are details most people wont recognise when riding a board. They look funky but they do very little.
    Young guys buy boards that are usually too small and old guys buy boards that are usually too big.
    Short fat boards don't catch waves of any size and long skinny boards don't fit steep waves. Boards with flat nose rockers don't give top to bottom forgiveness and too much tail rocker will be slow as a pissed donkey.
    A board should be about 3.7 to 4 times your shoulder width and volume .4 of your weight in litres. Over 10 feet add 6 inches.
    Do this be happy.
