Ah that was a really sweet video! I was a bit of a slow starter with Idles but the more I listen to them and learn about the guys in the band the more I apprecaite them! These Rotosound interviews are great, I've watched a couple now and will definitely consider Rotosound strings next time I do a strings change. Going to watch Gilla band on KEXP now 😊👍
Really glad you enjoyed this film - check out the others from the Our Generation series on our channel. Please do try out our strings - you'll love them!
Been playing Bass for about 25yrs now.. For the most part I basically play Punk Rock/Emo/Post Hardcore style or genre.. Although, I dont just play like Root Note, 8th Note, style like a lot Punk Rock Bass Players do.. Not at all saying there's anything wrong with that style whatsoever!! Sometimes thats whats needed.. lol (Especially to really Drive the Chorus) Also, unlike Most Punk Rock Bass Players, I don't play with a Pick.. I only play with my fingers for many reasons.. Anyway, lol my Father In-law introduced me to these strings about 15 yrs ago and I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with these!! BY FAR the best strings I've used and played!! The tone of these strings are second to none!! And equally as important they are so comfortable and easy to play!! Love these strings and I highly recommend them!! I play a 2001 American Fender PJ-Bass.. Absolutely beautiful match with these Strings!! Playing Punk Music on stage with 2 Guitar players both playing Gibson Les Pauls with Marshall amps, it could be easy to be drowned out in the mix, lol.. These RotoSound strings make sure that doesn't happen lol. 🤘
i love rotosound strings seriously, i only tried them within the last 6 months and for more then half my guitar collection has rotosound strings on them, i swear i would love to be endorsed or just a @rotosound artist... my dream ... i just want to share these beautiful strings with everyone...
Ive been going to gigs for nearly 40 years.. and idles at festival hall melbourne a couple a months ago was One of THE BEST GIGS i have EVER been too..thumpin bass kickarse drumming ..driving it all ..plus the rest..impressive mate..i ve seen -future of the left -ramones-system of a down ..bjork ..nick cave ..sepultura..public enemy ..shellac and janes addiction and JESUS LIZARD And this was up there
I love Roto sounds. But at times it sounds like thay wear out in a couple of months. I've used them since I was 15 yrs old .I'm 57 now and finding in my old age thay can be rough on fingers and your frets be aware. But still a great sounds
Hey John! Thanks for your comment. Our Swing Bass 66 range offers arguably the brightest string sound on the market, but as with all strings, the tone will fade as they're played in. In a recent video series, @BrooksysBassCorner put their lifespan to the test and showed how the treble can be compensated for somewhat by using the preamp's EQ. Regarding the feel, that's what you get with stainless steel strings-some folks love it and some hate it! It's the only way of getting the bright, rock-solid tone that generations of bassists adore!
I went to 6th form college with him. He was a sound guy back then too. Glad he's doing so well 😊
Such a powerful tone. Always stands out in the mix.
Love his tone.
Dev always serves the song and I can’t think of a higher compliment than that. The right man for the job. 👌
Great to see Dev. Idles music is definitely a sum of all its parts - they work so well together. Looking forward to their next tour in NZ!
Wow! He's got a BUNCH of drives on his board! Sansamp, Death by Audio, Rusty Box plus the Rotos? Rawk on Mate! 😀

Cracking comment! Love to hear how our strings help players find their voice 🤘
Idles is the most important band in the world right now
According to people who love Idles.
Why ?? I just see a bunch of middle class blokes playing pretend punk.
Thank John Entwistle for swing strings he was very key in the development of them
