    So much talent, and she plays with her own style. I look forward to hearing much more from this amazing player.

    I have seen Tal, Esperanza, and Rhonda Smith play live. In fact Spalding is from my home town. But, having experienced these amazingly talented and gifted female bassists, I place you in my favorite top two… You are funky. You are fluid. You have fun. You’re just fantastic!
    I own three bass guitars: a Fender Jazz fretless and a Conklin seven string fretless. My very first bass was a Fender Jazz with a maple neck like yours… it makes me miss my first bass.
    I got to see Jaco Pastorius live and was blown away. I made up my mind then playing the bass was what I wanted to do. Alas, I just never was good enough to make a living at it but I do still play.
    I watch you and your playing is so effortless. Your command of the fretboard is excellent. You should be gifted an honorary PhD in music because you are so good.
    Keep up the great work. I hope I get to see you play live someday!

      @@rotosound_uk YESSSSSS Love it!!! I was playing less but recently I've had a lot of time on my hands and switched back to the flatwound rs77's. Would love to see more of those too one day. Much love from texas

    Well done, Kinga! I admire your fluent bass work! I'm a bassplayer, too (I bought my first bass in February 1970!!) Unfortunately I have never taken lessons. I usually play along to music from CD/Vinyl. Nevertheless, this makes me happy!!!

    Good to see Kinga! 😁 It's basically the original Joe Dart combination that she endorses: Roto nickel with the blue wrap out of the blue bag, Fender Jazz Bass, hi mass bridge. I beleive Kinga sets a slightly higher action and doesnt compress the sound as much (as Jack Stratton in the production of Vulf videos). She also lets the strings get mellow over years like Joe. Joe himself stated he never changed the set since 15 years or so. Nice combination.

      Thanks for your comment. Agree with this but will add that the bass was restrung an hour or so before filming these performances.

      @@rotosound_uk Sure, you always take a shiny zingy new product for its promotion. 😉 I meant the sound in her home videos over the last couple of years. Your blue nickels sound just as charming on the JB when they get mellow, as flatwounds do. 😁

    Kinga is such a great bass player ,ive always been curious about the nickel strings she uses since i havent heard much about them ,i remember ive tried the regular stainless steel swing bass because many of my favorite players are using them ,ive played them for a year or 2 ,and fell in love with the tone and punch they have ,but what kept me away from sticking with them is that ive found them to be abit rough on my fingers ,i wonder if the nickel version would be a good alternative to keep that rotosound signature punch without being as rough as the steel ones

    • @rotosound_uk
      @rotosound_uk  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I would give the nickel Swing Bass strings a go. They don't have quite the same punch as the SS version but your fingers will thank you😅
