Thank you very much for this video! I have decided to play the first part with you for my elementary music classes next week because we're talking about Mozart. They don't know that I can play the clarinet! I can't wait for them to be surprised! :-D
What you want is an Evette Master Model (basically a Buffet R13 without the price tag). They are wood and made in the Buffet factory in Paris. Expect to pay about $400 on ebay for one with pads in good shape. You will be very happy with one of these, and will pay less than for a new plastic clarinet!
Really enjoying your play alongs. I'm playing on tenor sax. Just started playing again 5 years ago and I forgot how much I enjoyed playing classical music way way back in school!
That was fun playing with you. Only challenge - I couldn't figure an easy way to scroll pages backward. Maybe put the keyboard at my feet and use my toes?
For those unfamiliar with the basset horn, the instrument this piece was composed for, there is a nice introduction to it at th-cam.com/video/NI8MUaTW8ck/w-d-xo.html
I am subscribed because of your phenomenal effort even though I am a brass player. I tried 1st chair of this play- along on my trumpet with a poor result. I wish you had a "Sit in 2nd chair!" version.
OMG what fun was that!!! Except I ran into some technical difficulty... I could not get the music from the site listed, so I went to IMSLP, where I downloaded two versions of this -- one was the version for three basset horns (conveniently in the correct key) and a versions for 2 Bb clarinets and a bassoon (now that would be fun -- I play bassoon as well.). BUT in the middle of the "B" section (after the first repeats), you were playing something other than what I had -- like a cut had been made or something or a different version. This is why I downloaded the second version, but it is the same as the first. So I have two versions of this piece from IMSLP (usually reliable with Urtext-ish music), both of which are different than what you are playing.. BUMMER.... Do you have another site you can reference, or maybe could you put a functional link into the description? Thanks so much -- this music is a lifesaver for those of us whose entire social life is playing music in groups!!!! (I can't be the only one)
can you do a review on a mendini clarinet because i want to play clarinet as an extra instrument in my free time. I wanted to get your opinion on if i should buy it or not. The ebonite or black one.
I'd love to play along but at the time I write this comment its midnight. But also, my main instrument is Flute, and my second instrument is Oboe. Clarinet is my 3rd
Kyler kemp just play the notes directly from the sheet music. Record yourself, then play the other part. There is no need for a separate version of the sheet music. (The result will sound a fourth lower than the notes here, but that doesn’t matter if you are playing both parts on alto.)
Vadim Zitser Musician Vlog Channel 😂 yes it’s true the alto saxophone sounds lower than the Bb clarinet. 🙄 But the issue in two saxophones playing a duet is not the pitch that sounds, but rather the range of the instrument. The lowest note the clarinet can play is E below the staff, whereas the lowest note a saxophone can play is only Bb below the staff. Hence all the written notes below Bb in the clarinet part will have to played one octave up on the saxophone.
Do I need to wear my Michigan hoodie to play along? 😂😂😂
J Paige just what I was thinking 😂
Yes, you do.
Definitely
There are time signature police, but they are never in the right place at the right time. I could not resist.
😂

That was so awesome! I'm still trying to get a certain person to learn an instrument to duet with me.
Thanks!

Lol that's great, but as they say why don't you share the wealth can I have one lol?
You own 3 Michigan hoodies?! 😄

You should review the new jody jazz chedeville clarinet mouthpiece?
I couldn’t get the link to work.... never mind lol I did!
Michael, it looks like part 3 might might lend itself well to bass clarinet. What do you think?
How did you get black keys???? And what clarinet do you have I really like it.
Either the selmer seles privilege black or just selmer privilege black - a link to see them: www.dawkes.co.uk/clarinet/professional

I came to the comments to see if anyone owns a basset horn lol
I have an alto clarinet and I'm not afraid to use it. Don't tempt me.

I own a basset horn.
joking
What exactly is your stealthy Darth Vader clarinet?
It's a Selmer Privilege. Same as Katherine's, just...well...in black
I dont see the link to the sheet music of the trio
Please send it
Mike, why do we have to enter payment info for FREE music???
It’s a limitation of my website hosting platform.
Why do you use two rings?
in case they lose one they have an extra
Kinda stupid that you have to go through a purchase just to get the music ngl. Wouldn't it be easier just to put a PDF or put the music on the screen?
On one hand YES it woud be easier and I'd prefer that too! On the other hand EVERYTHING in his "store" is $0.00 currently (I don't know if always).
@@georgf9279 wow I didn't realize he was doing 100% off. I guess cuz coronavirus?
I play sax and want to play along 😢(add the whole score) but I do doubt they have a alto piece for this song.
But now you have the sheet music... so you can record an alto sax version! (some notes will have to be played an octave higher...)
@@mdickinson
Why higher?
Alto is lower instrument than clarinet!
mdickinson where is the alto score?
