Hoarders ❤️ Extreme Declutter the Laundry Room Part 1 | Blocked Doorway | Healing Journey

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 7 ก.พ. 2025
- It’s time to get back into the laundry room because our back door entrance is completely blocked. Blocked entryways are considered Level 4 hoarding and we don’t want to go backwards. We have some goals for this space too and we need to start opening up those spaces!!
#hoarders #messy #declutter
Family dinners outside are the perfect reward for your work! You're so strong now
I love that you are educating people about hoarding disorder.
You did another great inspirational video! You have explained your thoughts very clearly. You just opened the door the possibility of new memories in your life! It looks like this is your catch all room, so every day you need to at least declutter for 15 minutes timer. I agree that rack can be your well organized crafts rack. When ever you have an empty box, immediately flatten it and recycle. If your city provides the recycling program barrels, then on the day of pick up make sure that barrel is full to the rim. When you’re ready to declutter your boys baby toys find all the pieces put in bags and donate to babies in need. Helping others will help you with your miscarriages grief. Just how you donated to the domestic violence shelter. You’re doing great 😊 can’t wait to see your next video.
No judgement here at all. I don't judge anyone who struggles because I have some whoppers of my own.
I find you honest and open and I appreciate you for shaft when you don't have to.
I love that you’re so open and honest about your little setbacks and I’m glad that you don’t let it discourage you. You’re making fantastic progress.
I find that as I empty a box, I flatten it. This way I'm less likely to put something in it. It also feels easier to grab some flattened cardboard and walk it out on my way out the door. Great work! 👏👏👏👏🦸♀️
Ohhhh...what a great idea!! That’s a great habit to start 🦄💜🌟🦄💜🌟
Ms.Heart❤️ why not delegate your hubby or kids to flatten boxes for you🤗
Hoarding disorder is called a disorder becaus a 1 time clean cant fix the problem. Changing habits and healing from hoarding disorder takes a long time and a lot of work. Proud you startend again in the laundry room.
I really appreciate how you show that being kind and gentle to yourself is the best way to make lasting positive change. ❤️
Oh my goodness we could never EVER be disappointed with you.... you have made so much progress, I’m in tears just watching this. It’s so amazing to me that you can sit there and do this with a smile on your face and such a cheerful voice. ❤️🦄✨
You are doing brilliant not disappointed at all, don't let people make you feel bad, while u were decluttering other rooms one room got cluttered I think most people,e would say that that's normal for most of us.
It takes time to fully become a completely different person. Recognizing when one is sliding backwards before it becomes way too hard to get back up...
Is a blessing I am happy you have.
It is one space, not your entire home.
As for me when I went from chubby boardering on overweight to being quite slim it first took time to Feel slim and Then later it took way too long time to realise way too many habits had slided way too long and in fact I became Very unhealthy. Still working on it today and I think I will all my life with more or less ease.
I think you will too but I wish you a smoother path than mine.
No one is disappointed! You’re learning and it’s exciting! You also have a ton on your plate being a mom, working, dehoarding, and trying to keep up with regular house cleaning. It’s so hard to focus on completely decluttering a room at a time but also focus on the keeping up the other rooms. This will get easier once you get the whole house decluttered and can focus more on keeping them clutter free. Plus since you’re still working on rooms not everything has a place yet (like craft supplies) and without a place for everything it’s harder to keep things from piling up. You’ve got this you’re doing amazing just remember perfection doesn’t exist! The fact that you went back to this room and could tackle it so fast clearing the floor in one episode is huge! You’re growing so strong. This room wasn’t a set back in hoarding it just got messy and it was so much easier for you to make decisions and clear that space!
I would never judge you just because something gets out of hand and i really love how you approach this . Give yourself all the grace, love. You are doing so fantastic.
Also... YES CRAFT SECTION !! I am so excited
That really means a lot to me ❤️🙏🏻❤️ Thank you so much for your sweet & encouraging message!! It keeps me motivated to never quit 🌟🌟🌟
I am actually grateful to see real life progress. Progress is not a "one and done" thing. It is not a nice and neat math equation that you solve once and walk away.
My therapist always said: "Two steps forward, one step back" when talking about progress. You're doing great!
Your kids are so lucky that you’re working hard on changing your habits and thought patterns while they’re young!
I have my house down to only stuff that we use and love... or so I think until I watch a decluttering video. Then I go around my house and find all kinds of things that I can get rid of. You are never truly done with decluttering even if you think you are. Things are always coming into the house or what you kept the last decluttering sessions, you feel the need to get rid of it now. Just keep at it and soon it will get easier to see what is most important to you and your family.
Well done ❤❤❤
Ahh! So proud of you! I wanted to dance when you opened that back door!
You should put NO CRAFT SUPPLIES on your No Spend Challenge sheet.
Yes! I am looking forward too see you organize all your craft and gift supplies in the future!
I only use craft supplies if they are free. Junk mail, catalogs, cardboard, can all be cut into shapes or painted. Old buttons and ripped clothes become flowers.
Tina
You recognized how your clutter was affecting you and your family in the present, rather than seeing it as securing your uncertain future. That’s huge progress! It sounds like you’re right that you need to focus on completing a task. I think that will become easier when things have a definite home. The easier it is to do a task, the more likely you’ll be able to complete it before you get distracted. Your boys are also old enough to help with getting the trash and recycling to the right spot.
Keep up the great work, friend! You got this!
When you work for a living, have a family to look after and a house to run, it's always hard to keep tidy up to date! Don't get discouraged if a space gets out of control again, that happens to every busy mum and if anyone feels disappointed, well keep watching because we know, you've got this!
Thank you so so much 🙏🏻❤️ I really needed to read your sweet message 💕
I realized, at some point, that I love boxes, even though they are empty. I made a rule that I cannot order anything else till all the boxes are thrown out to help me get rid of them. I also realized that when doing a project or repairs, that I have to factor in 15 minutes to put things away when I am done. Creative crafty crafty people love the process, we forget about the clean up. Lol
Years ago I heard someone say it takes as much time to put something away as it does to put it down somewhere. It has served me well over the years.
Oh Miss Heart ❤️ your not disappointing anyone because your keeping it real for so many of us and motivated too. Life happens and things pile up again but the major difference now is your not overwhelmed or anxious about it. No you just said your doing it and you did! Also you got that area done in one go, well done 👏 compared to first time round that would have taken several episodes. The pile was huge and take a bow 🙇♀️ for a job well done. You have so many great ideas about craft area, sorting and organising I looking forward to seeing it already. Oohh yippee another yard sale. Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife ❤️👏👍🦄💐🥳
Hey mama, don't be too tough on yourself. Its ok. You have a strong support team through your youtube fans. We are rooting for you.
I found your channel with the first laundry room video. I honestly have expected to see the laundry room before this, not because you are failing at decluttering at all! But because as a busy working mom habits are hard to break. You have made so much progress that you have shared with us, and it is really inspiring. You will do it! Its like doing the dishes. You do it over and over again, and it's never really done. But when all the fancy dishes are clean and displayed at the next party...its all worth it.
You are dancing the cha cha! Two steps forward and one step back. You crushed it! Each time you go back to a space you get ride of more and more stuff.
Yesss!!! The cha cha decluttering dance 💃💃💃 I love it 🤗💗🦄🌟💜
I would put a pretty doormat in front of the door. That way you might be more likely to keep it clear and enjoy looking at it❤️❤️
Severe safety issue...no blocking 🚫 of exits! Great job of cleaning it back up.🌞
Im proud of you for keeping at it and never stop trying. You are very motivational in that way. Keep creating good habits. I learned great things about habit changing from the book Atomic Habits!
I notice you often have a ton of plastic bags filled with stuff -- i suggest bringing reusable tote bags with you everywhere you go, leaving some in your car or having a small one in your purse. not only is it friendlier to our earth but it forces you to put things away as soon as you buy them! since i only have a handful of totes and i use them often, i find myself constantly emptying and tidying them solely because i need to use the bag for something else!
I do use a lot of reusable bags too 💗🙏🏻 If you saw the unpack from travel video you saw a peak of my stack of reusable bags I use everyday! I switched to reusable bags last year! I still have a lot of hoarded plastic bags that I still reuse too. I have to take them to the recycling bin soon too! Thank you for the suggestion to keep using reusable bags!!
good idea. however in many areas during COVID drama we weren't allowed to bringour reusable sacks into the stores. Now as the drama eases up many have to get back inth habit of using our beloved cloth and canvas bags.
@@ahoardersheart ok i'm sorry!! i know it must be annoying to get so many unsolicited suggestions in your comments. i love your channel and i look forward to all of your videos and i think you're doing amazing!
My husband shops at a big and tall store so the bags are very sturdy. We stuff at least two of them in our luggage and use them as a dirty laundry bag when on vacation.
I love that you share your journey! I am a hoarder, and I found your channel while taking a break from my day of purging. Wishing you luck and continued progress! ❤️
yeah 😘🤗❣ it motivates me so much how honest you are, and how brave and consistent you are in learning and growing 😇
That means everything to me ❤️🙏🏻❤️ Thank you so much for keeping me encouraged in this journey 🦄💜🌟
I can't wait to see the end result of laundry AND the bathroom next to it! Your yard sale is going to be great. Maybe go to the attic before the big sale, just in case you have a box or two worth of items to sell from up there, too.
yesss I was also like "clean the bathroom out too!!" :D
if they don’t use it why they don’t make a closet or pantry there🤔
Can’t wait for another yard sale, and get lots of things out your house🥰🥰
Not disappointed!! Keep up the great work identifying areas for improvement! 💖🎉
Grace to you for bringing calm and joy to our family because of how You changed our lives with your channel ♥️
I just discovered your channel and I love it sooooo much! Binge watching now. 😀
Your heart knows what it wants for your family. And this time you are getting to task with skills to get it done!
Honestly, to see this human side of you during the healing process as you move forward and backward makes me feel like I am not a failure. And then to also see you get in there in fight gives me encouragement to not give up. We can get back on our horses and ride again...out of messy town!!! LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU! And I am so excited for your story to be published. Praying God gives you the perfect words which will reach so many of us who need help in our hoarding.
Don't be hard on yourself-you are doing great! It is a process. The laundry is still being kept in fairly good shape after the first declutter. Strengthen those muscles and you will become stronger and stronger. Great job Mrs. Heart! And I love how you explain all Your emotions and the satisfaction of the emptied space! A big hug!
If you put contactpaper on a piece of Cardboard that fits the bottem of the hamper you could store the rolls giftpaper in it.
That way you can use something you do not want to get rid of and have a place to put stuff away.
That’s a lovely idea!
Definitely not discouraged or disheartened. You're always an inspiration.
And noticing where you can make progress is a really strong point.
Yes!!! So important to stay positive and just learn from the situation instead of being negative on yourself. You got this!!
Maybe you need a weekly focus spot that you rotate through each month (ie: laundry, living room, kitchen, bedrooms) and that week you just dedicate a handful of sessions to re-tidying up an area to keep it from building back up. The major difference in you is you ARE revisiting areas and it’s so much easier to keep up :)
Progress not perfection is my new mantra. I really like how you tackle one small section at a time. I remember a friend saying that if you had a daunting task and if you tackled it for no more than an hour a day, that little by little you would complete it without feeling overwhelmed. I need to try that again. 🥰
Wow! I can’t believe this video! I have a very small laundry room that leads out to a very large screened-in back porch! I can’t even walk through the laundry room!!! I have been thinking about this all day, just waiting for my daughter and grandson to leave for a little while 😂🤣 They live with me and most of the stuff is hers! They never left the house today, figures😂🤣😂🤣. Maybe tomorrow! She will not do it 😥
Wonderful job I'm so glad you will get to enjoy the lovely summer with your boys. Very excited for a craft kon marie. And a wrapping paper one 🤩
Can’t wait for part 2 on laundry room. Awesome job!! 🥰
I really appreciate how you give yourself grace and find growth in the “mistakes”. Although the laundry room needs work I am sure you won’t need as many episodes as last time to clean it up again. Have a great weekend!
When I began watching you it was the original laundry room series! You’ve done fantastic! 💞
I’ve been watching your journey from your sunglasses days 😄 I’ve taken notes and it’s amazing how far you’ve come. I did wonder why the laundry room began to get cluttered again, but I know you’ve gone through a lot. I’m so glad you’ve recognised it and shared it with us and didn’t want to go backwards. Aspiring as always I love watching your videos, your journey and achievements 👏👏👏👏
Good job! I'm glad you are getting your laundry room back to where it was! You want to establish a routine for what you do with items that you bring into the house like you do with your mail. Break down packaging right after to open the box and get it into your recycling! Keep up your good work!
Wow! I was just reminded, with the state of my own laundry room/entryway, just how important 1. having a place for everything is and 2. having the habit of regularly returning items to where they belong. Because I, too, have a backlog of projects in progress and items with no other home cluttering up my laundry/entryway room. We live, and now that we are paying attention and have a toolbox of solutions, we learn!
I love your message in this video! Incredibly important and so true!
I love the way you are learning to have unconditional love for yourself. Knowing that you need to get back to this space and not being so disappointed that you ignore it and let it go completely back to the way it was. Great job facing your feelings and being kind to yourself. Love your progress in taking care of you and your recovery. You're doing it!
Thank you for sharing the normal of how bad habits can creep back in but that you don’t have to continue on that path. I’m so proud of you for recognizing it and making changes.
Happy to see you get back out that back door! 😍💕🌺
November 2023. I keep hoping to see your attic declutter. Tina, Al's wife
I love the idea of you having a craving AND a gift center on a shelf in the laundry room - like your gifts for giving and supplies in easy to access containers to quickly put a gift together
yaaas I cannot WAIT for the komari on craft supplies! you deserve the best crafting area!
Gift giving tub is a great idea. Like the other person said. This past year, you work full-time, kids activities and schooling, its not hoarding its just 'get to it later clutter.
I simply love your videos! You’re my hero and motivation 💖
Awesome. I love your spirit and your show are amazing . You have inspired me to become a clutter free person and make my house feel like home again and because today is my birthday ...i better start NOW.
You could use the boys hamper for the laundry room. You can put the Christmas crafts in your Christmas bins. Love your recycle and your tossy-tossy pile. Tori Spelling's mom was selling her childhood home that had like 50 rooms, I don't know how many bathrooms and she had a GIFT WRAPPING ROOM!!! What?! I was I would love that! I have a small modest home compared to that so I made a gift closet. Your channel has been helping me to see how it can get if I don't keep up with the clutter. I've been going drawer by drawer, starting in the kitchen. Decluttering has already helped me some much with less stress. I can clean up so much quicker now!
Great job can't wait to see another round. You just plugging along and the room will be done in no time.
No disappointment at all. Super proud! Everyone has slip ups non-hoarders included. As you said, it allows us to assess what's working or not and revamp our habits.
Love how you are approaching setbacks or challenges. Your positivity and strength are very inspiring 💛💛
Cannot wait to see the craft supplies organization
I didnt realise that you were a real hoarder until I saw this and the attic.! Good luck and well done.
I just started following you a few months ago and I really like your content. I personally would never say I’m disappointed. You seem like an amazing person. Keep going and you can get there.
Awe, that truly means a lot to me ❤️🙏🏻❤️ Thank you for being such a good friend 💞
you don't disapointed me. We love you and support you trow the end. you are healing girl. up to the next one. sounds good a big kon marie / organisation video of your gifsts storing and craft section big hug Ellen
I'm very proud of you, Ms. Heart, for going back and tackling the laundry room again, and for identifying the root cause of the new pileup -- lack of follow-through when you open boxes. You've already made great strides in completing tasks (like when you cleaned up the painting mess in the master bedroom even though you were dead-tired at the end of the day).
If I could make one suggestion, I thought when you did the original laundry room declutter, you immediately brought in new shelving units and cloth bins to go in them, without a clear purpose of what they would be used for. I suspect a lot of them just got used for clutter pile-up and some of them are empty. Maybe it would help to remove those storage units temporarily, and only put them back if you have a clear purpose for each one for stuff that you already know you want to hang on to?
Please keep going on this project, and also on opening up the unused half-bathroom to the side. It would be great if the kids could develop the habit of coming in the back door and using the toilet there when they are playing outside, instead of the main bathroom. It would keep your house cleaner too! Maybe put the sports equipment in the laundry room instead of in their bedrooms, too, to make it more easily accessible to the outdoors.
Awesome effort! I'm sure that felt so satisfying to set out to tackle the pile and see the result of it shortly after :)
Yes, it is ok and normal to have set backs! I don't have hoarding disorder but have set backs in my home too. You are doing a great job. Its so helpful to watch your progress. Thanks for your honest sharing!
I personally think the hardest part of changing habits, is when you feel like you have just taken a step back and can choose to give up or get right back in there again.
I am so impressed that you are determined to keep going. You are such an inspiration to me. Thank you for that 😃❤️
Perhaps a new habit could be before trash day run through the house looking for tossy tossy items. The kids could help as a game as long as you approve every thing that goes.
I'm never dissapointed at you!! Because you can do the most difficult part: wich is recognize your flaws and bad habits. Your constructive criticysm is always on point and pushes you foward, and that make us very proud and motivated!! You are a single person taking care of too much, and it's natural that sometimes some stuff falls behind
Viewing your recluttering of a space as a learning experience is very wise. One thing you have to ask yourself is why the recycling/cardboard or garbage is not going out. What do you need to do different?
Your such a good mommy the actions and thoughts you have for your children. Don't feel bad this past year and a half has been hard on everybody. You have been cleaning your house for several years sometimes areas are overlooked. I know I've been doing a lot of cleaning and decluttering of places in my house that haven't been touched in years. You recognized a problem and you fixed the problem. I hope you take the time to reward yourself with some self care take a nice bath or give yourself a facial.
I like that you are honest about going backwards as a part of the journey so the process may not be wonderful perfect but we know that, as you say, it's OK, it's normal and it does get better.
Your videos are so inspiring!
You are doing great! I’m an extremely sentimental person as well, so your content really speaks to me. Something that helps me a lot is to repurpose things I love and don’t want to let go of. When I saw that baby hamper, i immediately thought I would cut out the bear and sew him onto a sweatshirt! It helps bring the memories into your present and gives them new life. And you can let your crafter heart run wild! Keep going you’ve got this!❤️
This is very helpful and I can totally relate 👍
You are doing such an amazing job! Thank you for the inspiration, your positive attitude is a breath of fresh air. Please keep ongoing!
Please consider fire safety for your home by not blocking door ways in the event you need to exit out the back door. No judgement just want you all to be safe.
Yes..I feel the same way
I pray that you can find a good routine for putting stuff away. I still proud of you 👏🏼. Never give up. 💖
Good for you! You are making such great progress, and you are an inspiration!
You are doing a great job. Something you could try is taking pictures of your sentimental but not needed to keep items so you can still have a reminder of the item without keeping it. This way you can still feel like you can remember the good times without keeping the clutter.
You are doing a wonderful job decluttering
We all fall back sometimes! Life get busy etc. Two steps forward one step back sometimes. Sometimes 5 steps forward! It’s all good and all moving forward. You are doing great
💜👍 💜👍💜👍💜👍💜👍💜👍💜👍💜
Flowers in the dining room are GORGEOUS!!
Can you maybe do a Video about Like the facts about hoarding? Like the Levels, how many people have it, Triggers and so on
Yesssss!! I really need to write all that info down and create a video explaining that!! Thank you so so much 🙏🏻🦄💜🌟
@@ahoardersheart I found this: www.therecoveryvillage.com/mental-health/hoarding/related/levels-of-hoarding/
I think there are differing aspects within the levels themselves, though. You're doing wonderfully, lovely soul. :) You are truly inspiring.
Also, somewhat random- you may enjoy watching the Clutterbug channel as you discover what you'd like to keep. The gal explains that some organizing systems are not as effective because they don't suit our personal organizing style. Keep up the great work!
not disappointed! you are making huge strides with your bedroom, your kids rooms and your kitchen! and can tell you are making good short term goals like when you mentioned under your kitchen sink in one video and organized it the next. that's awesome progress! like you said this just is a reminder this is an area you need to pay more attention to in your routine. maybe each time you do laundry check if anything has built up here and take 5 minutes to resolve it before it builds up to block the door.
Thank you so so much ❤️🙏🏻❤️ Your encouraging message just lifts my spirits up 🌟🌟🌟
and maybe you can consider to use the third bathroom as a closet or pantry.....🤔😊
You got this, girl! You are doing beyond great. Lots of love and have a lovely weekend.
Good job
I so wanted you to keep going and do more of the laundry room 😄
I think you may need a bin just for “basket filler” - you have so many colors - it will be a light bin!
Not disappointed! I too fall back from time to time. Stay strong.
You are doing awesome! A pile like that can happen in any house hoarder or no. Messes just happen, especially when you're a busy person with kids and also I find craft supplies get out of control fast. This seems like a normal mess and not a hoarder mess....although I am a little bit of a hoarder myself so there's that 😜😆
I needed this. Although I don't have hoarding disorder persay I have some tendacies. And the last week or so I've been feeling lost because I started minimalism a year ago. But the last week I've noticed a few piles and have been getting down on myself. Definitely motivated me to get them sorted today!
Well done....try to be mindful that a blocked door is also a fire hazard....important to leave all exits clear in case of emergency ☘
September 2024. I give friends things they will like. I have one shoebox for those gifts. Tina, Al's wife
