Swimming with a MASSIVE 30ft Shark!!

- In this episode of BlacktipH, we travel to Tropic Star Lodge in Panama, where I got to swim with a 30ft Whale Shark on the first day of our expedition. Our crew traveled to the lodge with Guy Harvey and researchers to conduct important scientific documentation of the local fisheries. Tropic Star is in a very remote location in the Jungles of Panama. We had to take a plane, a bus ride, and finally a boat ride to reach the lodge. Once we got to Tropic Star Lodge, we rested and prepared for the following day. On the next day, Guy Harvey, Martin (Guy's friend), and our crew headed offshore to search for black marlin. After filling our tuna tubes, we started trolling for marlin. It didn't take long to get our first bite, and it was a big sailfish! Later in the day, Guy spotted a whale shark swimming on the surface. I got the opportunity to jump in the water and swim with the massive 30ft animal! This shark was so massive, it literary felt like I was swimming with a dinosaur! Time slowed down when I was in the water with this giant shark! We finished the day off tagging and releasing several dorado (mahi-mahi or dolphinfish). Later that day, Guy and I had fed the fish at the dock and helped two anglers take photos of their massive yellowfin tuna!

I got to see a whale shark back in '89 while I was on my honeymoon and we went fishing on a party boat out of islamorada. It was a little bit shorter than the boat we were on. The captain pulled up next to it and my god, what a sight

Wow. If you go to Key West you have to stop by the Custom House and see Guy's sketch's of The Old Man and the Sea almost as cool as swimming with whale sgarks

Swam with whale sharks off the coast of Cancun, during the plankton bloom. 3hrs, and over 50 whale sharks. Such amazing animals.
Now Cancun at the plankton bloom is on my bucket list ☺️

Josh we are waiting to go to tropic star lodge. What should I expect fishing there?
There's a reason there's so many fish there. They get destroyed in florida, nobody knows how to release fish only keep them. I release anything and everything I catch unless it dies. Florida anglers need to stand up and learn catch and release for ALL of our fish to conserve the wonderful fishery that we have.
