The point you made about putting yourself out there - it's spot on. Therapists are often doing work behind closed doors, but that's not an option once you have something offer to clients you need to market. Thanks for this
@@ashleyannephd thank you for sharing. Always happy to talk about strategies 👍
I’m an ED dietitian starting a private practice but this really resonated, like you hit the nail on the head and I feel like it knocked something loose for me. Thank you
Thank you so much, Madeline, for the feedback. It means the world to me to know that my content makes a difference for others. I will be sure to let Allison know 🙏 Feel free to let me know if you have any topic requests for future videos.
Loved your question at minute 24 about the awkwardness of niching ;-) and great response as well about noticing which clients give you that joyful sense of flow ❤
Thanks, John! I am glad you found value in this interview. Allison is a wonderful private practice coach, funny and down to earth. What are your thoughts on nitching down or up?
Wow! Chock-full of uplifting, helpful information!!! ❤
Thank you so much, Rachel! It was such an honor to have Allison on the show. I have followed her for years. She is a goldmine of information for therapists who want to start out in private practice 💯🙏. Please let me know if you have any topic requests for the channel 👍
Is marketing really only an issue for cash only therapists. I guess I’m thinking in terms of using marketing for a funnel for referrals not basic website marketing which seems necessary. Won’t you get enough referrals from becoming a provider to the major insurance companies due to the high demand?
Thanks for the feedback, Brent. I think it depends, on how many insurance companies you are credentialed with, if you are practicing solo or if you are using a 3rd-party agency and the demand in the area, tele-health vs in-person and target clientele population. If you are cash pay only, yes, I imagine marketing would be a larger part of the operation. Perhaps we can get Allison to chime in on this one 😉@Therapynotes
@@TheMentalHealthToolboxThanks for the reply! I heard perhaps within a month you could get a basic caseload started getting around 3 clients a week from insurances. Would love to hear from others on this. Thanks for the content!
@@brentwejrowski indeed! If you are working with a referral agency line RULA, getting clients is a piece of cake; going solo with insurance you will be relying on something like psychology today profile and word of mouth, on some direct referrals will come from the insurance itself. Yes, please, everyone feel free to share your experiences, it helps everyone here 😁
Thank you for this.
My pleasure! Thank you so much for the feedback 🙏 Allison is a goldmine of wisdom when it comes to scaling a private practice 💯

Thank you for the kind feedback.
Just a bunch of chatter. No real direction here.
@@patrickx2420 thanks for the feedback. Happy to chat about my experience with private practice if you like. I can't speak for Alison though.
