Ah, I have eight chickens and one I’ve recently told friends is abnormally friendly… Turns out, after watching your video, she’s the one laying the first few eggs I’ve gotten. 😁 They’re all friendly but this one flattens out spreading her wings for what I thought was to be petted. Good stuff/information… thank you!
😀 Well without a rooster they are essentially submitting to your authority and do like to be picked up and petted when they do that....but glad we good help. God bless!
Thank you....we are still learning just like everyone else but we do like to share things we've learned over the past 6 years....mostly from making mistakes lol
I have 15 chickens they gave me 1 extra so it's 16 😀, my baby chick's arrived early July, they are getting big , my chickens love sleeping above the nesting boxes where it's a flat wide board, they lay down n sleep all night, I did try to get them to sleep on the roost but they rather not , I put up a sheet to cover up that area, but they got very upset , so now I just put newspaper down every night to keep it clean, every morning I just roll it up , it's much cleaner this way , my chickens they love sitting on the roost during the day, ,they are just backwards 😂
How fun! I got my first chicks in April 22. 7 chicks are 2 roosters😳 and 5 hens. As of 19 weeks 1 started to lay, it too 24 weeks for the second, and then the third. Still waiting on the last 2 at 27 weeks! Its sure fun and the cost of eggs 60ct at WM is now 19.78! Up from 7.88 in February. I'm so glad to have them, poop, crowing and all🐓🐓🐓🐣
Thank you so much. I wish I would have been given this info when we were first time chicken parents. That's why we thought it was important to do this video. How many chickens do you have?
My 18 week old golden comet keeps going into the coop during the day. Yesterday she submitted to my rooster who is too young to breed he's a young orpington cockrell. This morning when I let them out of the coop she was laying in the nest box. Today she's been laying in the coop a lot. Is this a good sign?
"another sign for her is that she doesn't shut up" lmaao! love it.

WHAT KIND OF BEDDING IS THAT? I need to upgrade from dusty dirt now that the grass is dead. Thanks😊
We just use flake pine shavings from Tractor Supply on the ground/floor and we use the fine pine shavings in their nest boxes
What breed is Helga? I have 3 of those and I was told by TSC that they are barred rocks...and they definitely aren't!
Helga is a Bielefelder.
