I'm 33 and always did bunny ears to tie my shoes, never could do it any other way. that is until now! That was so simple and easy to learn.

Thanks, it’s the only knot I use for my shoes and can also be used behind your back (for aprons, etc), bathing suits, and other things. No real reason to use any other knot, so I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I do!

The Ian Knot is very good for tying sweat pants laces. Since the laces often cross over inside the waist band, you can use just the finishing knot. I once had a pair that had the lace emerge as a closed loops which made the Ian knot the only way to tie them and still be able to easily untie them later. The only difficulty was learning how to apply tension. After a little practice the hands seem to figure it out on their own. Thanks for spreading the knowledge.

I’m autistic, and every other tutorial for every other knot just feels like there’s this moment where it is not 100% specific and it ruins the entire thing. This video is hyper-specific on ever move your fingers make. This is like, the first time I tied my shoes. Thank you so very much, Rob.

I've been tying my shoelaces like this since then, and they work just as well as the regular knot. So, thank you so, SO much for this and all your other vids Rob!

I started doing this, and it works great! I don't on plan using the bunny ears method anymore. It's tight enough that the laces stay put but not so tight that it's uncomfortable and I can't untie the laces easily. I've also used it for tying my sweatpants, pajama bottoms and robe and I plan on using it for my yoga pants, athletic shorts and aprons. I even tested it with one of my bikini tops.

For those who are curious: the headband says 필승, which is something along the lines of "will win for sure" or "guaranteed victory" in Korean.
Oh, and he has it upside down in the beginning of the video. But right-side up in the thumbnail!
