In this video, I will show you how to create a type of Stick Bomb, known as the Cobra Weave. This type of weave was designed by Tim Fort, a.k.a the "Kinetic King" ( / lunatim . This is a really awesome thing to make, especially when you're hanging out with friends! I made the stick bomb here with 345 Sticks!!
For the tutorial, you will need to purchase Craft Sticks, also known as tongue depressors in the health professions. These sticks are the best to use for the Stick Bomb because they bend nicely. I would not recommend using popsicle sticks because they do not bend as well.

I looked this up to show my friend that these stick bombs exist. I didn't expect to see an adorable fuzzy kitty cat named after a Futurama character but I'm definitely not complaining.

will this still work if you don't write "U" and "D" on the sticks? Also some more information about how to put the sticks on top of each other would be beneficial thanks.
i've actually tried this without the lettering and it didn't work. i also tried it with the lettering and it didn't work but i might have written the "D" upside down. good luck.

Overexplained. You could have spared us the 20 minute intro and just gotten straight to the layout. The whole "upstick" "downstick" thing is just confusing. Just put it together and explain what goes under what.
do you live in a cave or something? don't you know that the world is full of absolute idiots and detailed explanations are required for some? Besides, it helps to remember so in the future if i try i wont have to reference the video.....don't bash good teaching techniques because our teachers are getting shittier and shittier and future generations are getting dumber and dumber.
Sure, I could have "spared you".. but that's not my style >;-) I'd rather explain what the parts are, what needs to be done, and then show it. Tell, Show, Do, and explain what we Did. That's my method which has been working well for me and I'd rather over-explain it a tad rather than go quickly and have people get lost. The beginning is a bit slow, but that's the trickiest part. Once all those pieces are locked in place, it's cake from there.
ophello why you didnt just skip the intro by moving it forward? :O and skipping the middle part with D & U stick? I'm doing it in every tutorial.. just skiping through to what I need to know..

Hey rob... thanks for a great science experiment day based on your video. the students watched your video and built stick "waves" for science class today. excellent way to close out the term before spring break. we built a long one and ran it UP the stairs... poor minion who was not paying attention... Wait for it... boom.
You're very welcome Alan, I'm glad that the students are able to learn about science while doing a fun activity. And yes, it has enough energy to get up the stairs too!
