We have the 14' wide transom. Generally use one of our electrics on it but sometimes use our 2.5 Merc. We love it! Best small water boat out there, and light. This spring i bought the 12' solo for paddling small ponds. Best fishing outfit I've had. I sold my heavy beast fishing kayak. So much more comfortable and versatile in the little sportspal !

I love my Sportspal. My parents had one when I was a kid and now I have one. I have posted a few video using it and it’s great when you want to take a dog out with you. Very stable!

I have the 14' wide transom and a Mercury 6hp that weighs 57 lbs. Top speed is about 15 MPH in calm condition (155 lbs person and 90 lbs load in front). Very versatile and stable little canoe.

Hi Dave 😃👋. Just curious about a 12 ft square stern if sportpal makes one. Are they stable enough to stand in and fish ? In around 230 lbs of fatness lol. Would it tip? And could two guys my weight both stand at the same time in a 14 ft square stern ?

@colinbeachey196 we do make a 12 square stern, the 14 is considerably more stable and it seems to be they become less tippy by adding weight. If you want to check em out let me know.

I have a question for you! My name is Larry! I’ve messaged you before,I love you’re videos by the way and love my sportspal canoe I’m going to be doing some work to my old sportspal canoe and was wondering about maybe using some pop rivets were some of the old screws were, and if that’s as good as the screws or is it even better than screws ! And why they don’t use screws when they build them, thank you so much ! It would be great if you could guide me in the right direction thanks again much appreciated

Thanks Larry aluminum rivets are a little better in my opinion as they will not rust if not covered properly. However I wouldn't go to the extent of switching any screws that are already installed and covered well. Hope that helps. Good luck on dad's canoe. Cheers 🍻
