Hi there, hope you are well ( noticed your jeans are soaked from kneeling. How do you avoid getting sick?). As usual thankyou for an awesome video, but where is the rest of the crew? God bless. Greetings from Greece.
Hi Helen, it wasn’t a very abundant season for pines because of less than ideal weather so the rest of our crew didn’t join us for the harvest. We were only there for a short time. They will be back in future episodes, which we are filming now. We avoid getting sick by working really hard, drinking lots of water, hot rocks from the fire for heat and lots of healthy wild food/teas with our dinners.
I was using a galvanized steel spike in that video because It had an eyelet which i could attach a clip to. Lots of things work well, such as a dandelion tool but i’d recommend something that doesn’t rust
Sorry for the wait. We are finally having a good coastal fall mushroom season, so we've extra busy in the field, but we will have a ton of new videos coming. So much footage to sift through and edit once things slow down 😱
There are way too many "Hey, look at me collecting mushrooms." videos out there. Please be more informative about the characteristics of the mushroom types.
Used to do that, for nearly a decade but you should see the messed up index fingers of the old time pickers. They advised against it, their messed up hands convinced me.
I love these vids , as I can't get out anymore , TY for sharing , Hello from Terrace
Picking monster pine buttons on a warm sunny day to boot. How amazing!

What “tool” are you using to dig them up?

Are the fungi sold fresh, or processed before selling? I get the impression that buttons command a higher price. Why is this?
Yep #1’s and #2 buttons are worth the most. More tender and the veil protects the gills from getting any debris in them.
I just use my fingers to pluck the no damage to the #1's
This is crazy. They are so big.
New video please I am waiting here
