Great video! Did that lower door speaker suddenly stop working? Both of mine stopped working but i think the amplifier behind the passenger seat panel is the fault.

Sorry just re watched it, your speaker had the distortion but still produced sound.

It worked, but it had a horrible rattle to it.

Which brand of speaker installed, should be nice to mention.

I replaced it with the same type of Bose speaker. I found it online for $153. Shipping was another $15. Four years later and it still works great.

I am horrified by the quality of this.

I realize this video is 3 years old but I hope I can help someone else. It looks like you bought a replacement factory Bose speaker? Please, please don’t do this again. Even an entry level aftermarket speaker will provide much better sound quality, and they come in pairs so you can replace both. You can get a nice set of components and replace the awful factory tweeters at the same time for less than $200. Depending on where you buy, the adapters and wire harness will be included.

These Bose speakers are unusual in that they are 1-ohm resistance speakers and act purely as subwoofers. The crossover is contained in the bose amp. As such, you can't really pop in any old 6.5" or 8" aftermarket speaker without it sounding terrible. You either replace the amp and speakers (more $$$) or you buy the only set of compatible aftermarket speakers (Focal ISU 200s) for $380 a pair. Or you find an OEM speaker and pay $200 bucks for it, but it's still less than buying aftermarket and a hell of a lot less work.

I'm trying to fine a video of somebody that put DIFFERENT speakers in their NC Miata. The Bose system is truly weak.

@@mateocarlos2674 Fivestar car audio has a video up. They did a full HD install on an NC with the Bose system.

You didn't help at all; at least you could provide some part numbers, cause as @Nick-Who said these are very specific speakers, which can't be just replaces without deeper modification and spending more $$$ for that.
