      Literally describing a good 85% of Bethesda games. especially Elder Scrolls games. Sometimes they work and sometimes they completely broken to the point of not being able to do anything.

      @@Buttington_Headerson I locked myself out of the Thieves Guild guildmaster armor by doing the main TG quest without knowing there were special missions hidden behind radiant thefts, I borked two sidequests going in and clearing random dungeons, I've had to google a New Vegas quest to use a glitch to bypass a bugged queststage, and I died jumping into a cabbage cart on my first Skyrim playthrough and learned to use movable drums to kill people without consequences in Fallout 3, sooooooo...
      Yeah, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sheogorath visits every Bugthesda game eventually.

    Great run, good commentary from the runner - a suggestion to the couch: don't forget the runner isn't talking to you, they are mostly talking to the audience, and so should you. There were a lot of chuckles and "uhhuh", "sure" comments that didn't add a lot and seemed to forget everyone was being recorded.

      Basically the game saves certain things and can even save them through different saves. One of those things is your inventory and your quest progression. So by tricking the game into keeping your inventory and bringing it to the save at the other location you can effectively teleport. This works because you trigger a loading screen by opening a door and at the same time you pause and load the quicksave that has the inventory you need. Because you triggered changing locations through the door, the game for some reason takes the inventory you have from the quicksave because you triggered it's loading as well and transfers it over to the other save at the location you want. Don't know if that made any more sense and am basing it off the very basic knowledge I have about oblivion speed runs so I might have gotten some of that wrong.

      I think it's possible to build a character that will have a lot of trouble finishing the game so you've gotta be a bit careful with your build. I remember fucking up a run of it once.

    I saw something about using paintbrushes to sequence break to the end cut scene. How come he didn't do that?

    • @Cuzit69
      @Cuzit69 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you do that (don't remember if you actually need to use the paintbrushes or not) it involves going out of bounds, and this is a No Out of Bounds run. But that run is like 5 minutes total or something. It's basically just get through the tutorial (which I think you can do faster going out of bounds, as well), and then go to the citadel or whatever in Imperial City. There's a door out of bounds beneath the map that you can clip to and go through, and it takes you to the final room where Martin does his mantling thing and the game's over. You literally just do the tutorial in that run, so it's less interesting.

      He hotkeys 4 skooma, then opens the menu to drink another 4. If you only use a hotkey the game won't let you stack more than 5.

    • @KubaJ100
      @KubaJ100 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it means not glitching through walls to skip some areas or doors.

    • @zacclark5945
      @zacclark5945 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Go check out the any% OOB speed run of this game. It's only a couple minutes and all will make sense.

    • @GinGilligan
      @GinGilligan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      in speedrunning "out of bounds" means exiting the normal boundary that a player would be able to access in a level. examples might include bypassing an invisible wall, going to areas that players are never supposed to access, clipping through walls/doors/floors, etc.
      In oblivion specifically there are some hidden doors under the ground or behind walls that you can't access without glitching through the floor/wall. one of these hidden doors is accessible in imperial city within minutes of starting the game and brings you to the version of imperial city that is under siege at the very end of the game, bypassing almost the entire run, so "no out of bounds" runs are (to me at least) more fun and interesting

      He said he binds it to his scroll wheel so he can spam through it 2:08

    • @dexobj
      @dexobj 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He binds left mouse click to scroll wheel. Probably is one of those mouse with smooth/free scroll but the normal ones should work the same way.

    • @user-yr1wm9vy2v
      @user-yr1wm9vy2v 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the convos he initiates he has left click bound to scroll wheel, so he scrolls super fast and it rapidly skips all the dialogue. For other dialogue such as scripted dialogue between two characters he quick saves and quick loads.

    • @KorboQ
      @KorboQ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @peterprime2140

      It only applies to the major cities, and it makes perfect sense as your character already lives here. It's also not much different in Skyrim since all you do is pay the carriage guy 20 bucks to take you to them.
