It's unreal how much time you can save in The Witcher 3, when you chose to ignore Gwent!
Never touched gwent and I’m level 31. Is Gwent really that awesome?
@@JonCom3dy some like it some don't. I hate it at first but now it's all I care about, I'm exploring the world only to meet new people to collect my cards. Literally !

I think I put in 113 hours before ever playing Gwent lol. Maybe it's time.

@@defaultkoala2922 Well, there's a lot more difference during the first visit and Blood And Wine though. In the books Geralt was on Ciri's trail when he came to Toussaint, however, in Blood And Wine he's here on a contract to track down the Beast Of Beauclair. There's a lot of story difference.

Also, posting my usual FAQ about this run:
1. Speedrunning the game feels wrong/ you shouldn't do it/ etc.
Speedruns of this game are actually lore correct - when Geralt hears that Ciri is in danger, what should he do: try to get to her asap or play Gwent with every single person in the world? Ha, gotcha! :D
Jokes aside, I've played through the game multiple times and spent hundreds of hours in it casually. It's one of my favourite ones and that's why I like to have fun with it by combining it with my hobby - speedrunning :)
2. How is Geralt so fast?
I'm using a crossbow glitch that only works with version 1.06 or lower - when you zoom in while aiming with crossbow, the whole world slows down except Geralt, because you have to move te cursor smoothly in order to make a proper shot. If you are in this mode during an autosave, the game will store that state and afterwards when you pull out your crossbow and cancel it, the game still keeps that speed difference. And because the world is moving with normal speed now, you are going superfast.
3. How do you skip dialogues so quickly?
Normally the only way to skip dialogues is mashing space and right click as fast as you can. The thing is, if you do it for 2-3 hours straight, it may heavily impact your hands and cause physical pain after completing a run. That's why as a community of Witcher 3 runners we've agreed on using AHK script that allows you to hold a button of your choice and the game registers it as clicking right mouse button once every 10ms. We can do it only in cutscenes (indicated by the green "AUTO" text on the video), so we don't abuse it anywhere else in the run - it's just a thing allowing us to be more comfortable and keep having fun while playing the game quickly ;)

I couldn't help but chuckle at the very beginning where you are just staring at the camera because of what I'm assuming is the delay in the stream or whatever. Either way I just started watching but I know it's gonna be an entertaining run

thats what i love about gdq in general most speedrunners focus so much on the speedrunning itself but when youre new to a speedrun you wanna know whats going on and on gdq people always talk about the games they play what and why they do things!
I've never seen a Witcher 3 Speedrun before, and hot damn, it's amazing...
About 20 minutes in I had to check if I had accidentally increased the playback speed, not because of Geralt’s supersonic running but because of how fast Kaadzik is talking. Impressive run!
Hundreds of hours in this game, not once did it ever occur to me that it could be shredded through like a sonic game. Really great run, awesome runner and a great addition to SGDQ. Cheers! (^_^)
I couldn't watch the whole run during GDQ but judging from what I could watch this is one of the most entertaining and enjoybale speedrun commentaries I've seen.
It really tells you something that I was eager to keep watching as much as I could while I don't like anything about Witcher in general.

always wanted to see a witcher3 speedrun, im glad i waited to watch this guy cuz he is exceptional at doing this and is genuinely funny.
This might be the coolest polish person I've ever met!
And I've both used to play on a EU World of Warcraft server that slowly became overwhelmingly polish / cz-sk (probably more latter though) and on a polish TBC private server. This sort of changes my mind about what kind of people might have been there on the other side of the monitor.

When you examine something punch to skip the examining part where he looks at footprints objects etc.

Enjoying the speed run, but will not see it to the end (yet). I started the game in June and with a baby I haven’t finished it yet 😉 impressed by how fast you apparently finish the game.

Useless fact: Dijkstra, in the game they pronounce it as "Deekstrah", but it's actually Dutch (as in, from the Netherlands 🇳🇱) in origin, pronounced something like "Daikstra".

Hey GDQ, i follow you for a while. It's awesome what you guys do, espacially with the foundations. Lost my Father back in 2009 because of lung cancer.
I hope the whole epidemic is soon over, so you can do the big events with the audience which puts so much life in these events. Also the comentators are essencial and pretty nice to have, because you get an explanation of the stuff the runner does.
But i have a suggestion for you. How is the idea that you switch the estimate time from time to time to show the current world record time of the category? I think this could show, what is actually possible or the watchers see on first sight if a runner brake the WR.
Amazing speedrun! Completely butchers the entire RPG experience this whole game is all about, yet - amazing skill in it own right! :-)

I've only played the games but I'm team Yennefir... because in this game they do a good job of establishing all the stuff from the books. If you played Witcher 1 and 2 then I get it but it's so clear in #3 what their history is.

In Blindingly Obvious...how did you get out of combat mode to jump over the gap in the stairs? I can't get Geralt to come out of combat mode meaning I can't complete the mission and therefore can't complete the game. Haven't played it in a while because of this frustrating part!! Any help greatly appreciated!
I go away from the previous mirror as fast as possible, perform an attack to convince the game I've just entered combat mode and after that Geralt goes out of combat mode, cause there are no enemies nearby :)

@@GDon047 Oh sorry, I got two different missions mixed up. In Blindingly Obvious I just simply wait out the combat mode to finish while standing on the stairs, just like shown on the video here: 1:55:22
I wish I had the PC version so I could mod in a way to control whether you're in combat mode or not.
Can you use the speed glitch on console? Anybody know?
The glitch is possible to do only on version 1.06 or lower and sadly I don't think you can downpatch your game on console to that extent :/
@Mark u can if u have the cd for the game. delete the game and install it again from the disc and pause the patch installing.

He gets level 24 with only the main quests. I did almost all side quests and only got level 30. Damn.
Jup it's pretty unbalanced. There are some fairly hard side quests that give you 5 XP at the end and there are main quests where you get 500 XP just for talking to someone
