Really interested in owning an Orion casting rod this year. I noticed from the Japan fishing show this year the Orion was well advertised. Any new models youre interested in?
@dvangfishing thanks for the response. What's a good versatile rod that gets bass through some thick grassy ponds I fish? Also I'll be kayak fishing so don't want a rod longer than say 7'.
Hi, I see you have the Orion Lightning Strike, I wanted to ask you based on your experience, what samples/weights would it be suitable for? Thank you very much.
This rod has one of the craziest lure ratings I’ve ever seen. It’s a ML+ and lures rating is from 1/8 to 1.1/4. It’s a super light rod but has a lot of backbone. I usually throw smaller lures with it but it’ll handle some big lures if needed. It’s actually a very good topwater, jerkbait, and cranking rod too.
How does it compare to DESTROYER P5 F3-610X BAIT FINESSE, which is tougher, more powerful? are they similar? Sorry to ask but how do you have both? Thanks
I do have both rods. The Lightning Strike is way more powerful than the Megbass Bait Finesse. I feel like sitting the hook with the bait finesse, you’ll have to set it a lot harder. With the Lightning Strike, you don’t have to swing into it that hard. But me in general, I like to give it to them. Hahaha.

I haven’t looked into any of the new models yet. Right now I have a total of three Orion rods. The Moongazer, The Ligthing Strike, and The Black Rose.

Thank you very much. Texas rig 7g in total would be ok? Would a super fluke from zoom work?@@dvangfishing
@@filipept1 yeah, I think those would be fine on the Lightning Strike.

Thank you very much for the answers. I had this idea, but nothing better than asking someone who has experience with both rods. Thanks.😉
@@filipept1 hey, no problem brother. Anytime, I’m glad I could help.
@@dvangfishing Thank you very much ❤
@@filipept1 no problem. I have the Moongazer and the Black Rose in the Evergreen Orion line up too. I had the Degel but sold it.
