It’s a great setup. I use it mainly for cranking but I’ve thrown some topwater/wakebait tremble hooks on it as well. It handles bigger spinner baits pretty well too.

@@russhaight3225 they’re both really good reels. If you have the extra money, go ahead and get the Steez. But if you’re on a budget, the Zillion HD will definitely get the job done too.

It’s all good. We all started from somewhere. I started off with some Tatulas and now I’m using Steez. That’s crazy.

They paired up pretty well but the Antares DC is a bit on the heavier side. Now I have it paired with the Daiwa Steez A II, and I feel like it balances out a lot better.

@dvangfishing ok, but isn't better reel the Antares for JointedClaw 178 than the Steez A II?

@dvangfishing is The Black Rose the ideal rod for JointedClaw 178 type swimbaits? I mean 2-2,5 Oz swimbaits

@@gheorghitacatalindobrita6642 yeah you’re right , the Antares DC MD is a better swimbait real. But I was just saying that it’s a little on the heavy side. The Black Rose is a really nice rod and it’s super light as well. I think a lighter reel matches better with a lighter rod.

@@gheorghitacatalindobrita6642 the Black Rose is a great rod. Most of these Evergreen Orion rods are very versatile. I use to throw Swimbaits with the Black Rose and didn’t have any issues with it at all. Now I have a different dedicated Swimbait rod. I use the Black Rose now mainly for Frogs and Punching.

It’s actually a very nice rod for the price point. It not heavy like some of the broom sticks for Swimbaits. I can cast it all day and not be exhausted.

In my opinion, most of the SV models are used for smaller applications as the Steez A/A2 are used for bigger applications. I do like the new SV a little more as it does feel smaller in hand. But both reels are really good and durable.

@@livinglife3230 thank you. yeah, I just saw the info about the 25 Aldebaran and 25 Antares. I think my next reel will probably be the 25 Steez CT SV Limited. And then maybe the 25 Aldebaran.

@ I might check out that Steez limited also, I swear it’s a never ending game! Makes fishing more enjoyable though. I was disappointed in the new Antares, 7.5oz 😫

@ yeah, I didn’t like the 25 Antares visually right off the bat. One of my favorite reels is the Steez CT, so when I saw that they are coming out with the 25 Steez CT Limited, I was like “I gotta get one”.

@@Johann-x7z thanks. I think it’s personal preference when it comes to what you like. I do prefer baitcasters over spinning though. Hahaha. When it some to the Metanium or Steez Limited, I can’t really said which one is better. They are both great reels but I have to say, the Metanium DC is super smooth. Probably one of the smoothest reels I’ve ever used.

I think I'll have to order the metanium and take a look myself. It just annoys me that there is no drag clicker in that price range... If you had to give away all your rods, which combo would you keep? I'd be interested to know with a lineup like that. Sry for my English, but I hope you understand me.

@ yeah, you’ll definitely have to try out the new Metanium DC. And don’t be sorry about your English. I can understand your comments/questions just fine. That is a pretty hard question though. Hahaha. If I can only keep one combo, I’ll keep the Evergreen Orion The Lighting Strike with the Steez CT. That rod can do so much. I think my next reel will be the new 2025 Steez CT SV Limited. I actually installed a drag clicker on the Metanium DC and the Steez Limited. Check out my short videos I posted of them.

Ich schalt mich hier mal dazu, habe auch beide Rollen. Die Metanium DC nutze ich ausschließlich an meiner Evergreen Cobra RS ltd zum Fischen mit Jerk/Twitchbaits der OneTen Klasse (+1 auch noch). Mainline ist zwischen 10 und 14 lbs Fluorocarbon. Sie hat keinen drag clicker (ein klarer Malus für diese Preisklasse) und ist trotz DC System durchaus zickig. Die Rolle ist allerdings an sehr windigen Tagen einfach unschlagbar, weil sie auch mit relativ stark eingestellter cast Control enorme Wurfweiten liefert. Ansonsten ist sie supersolide und super smooth. Ich bin eigentlich Daiwa Fanboy, weil Daiwa viel gutmütiger zu fischen ist, aber die Metanium hat gerade beim oben beschriebenem use case ihre Vorteile….

@@dvangfishingbro I have a question on the new Met DC. Do you have the US version or JDM? If JDM did you experience any casting issues with distance or castability? I read theres a diff but I cannot confirm.

@ I have the JDM model. I haven’t experienced any issues with it but then I don’t have the USDM to compare it to. But as of right now, I haven’t had any issues with mine.

@@shakeyhead0079 this is my old setup. Most of these setups are gone and have been replaced with something else. What I use for crankbaits right now is the Daiwa Steez Machine Gun Type I.

@dvangfishing by far but I did order the new 2025 tatula sv with the sv boost spool from Japan. I guess it's basically a cheaper zillion, hopefully its as good because it was only $160 shipped and got a $25 lure as a free gift.

@@dvangfishing I got another question about the SS Air. I have an Alphas Air at the moment and braided line occasionally digs in causing my light lures to stop mid-flight when pitching. I heard the SS Air is better with braid since the T-wing moves faster and the line lays less parallel. Do you know if that is the case?

It’s a great reel. I really enjoyed throwing it. It’s built on the same Steez CT frame.

@@dvangfishing is it magnesium or aluminum frame?

@ magnesium alloy is used for the frame and gear side plates, and Aluminum alloy for the dial side plate.

@@gazziesukor4859 I guess it depends on what you’ll be using it for. For smaller applications, I’ll go with the 24 SV. For bigger applications, I’ll got with the A2. I have both reels and really enjoy them both.

@ thanks for sharing, i kinda like the design on the A2 more actually but the 24 SV seems smoother. Feel wise i prefer the 24 SV and asthetic wise i prefer the A2. Guess u're right on the safe side i'll go for the A2. Thanks again 👍🏼

@@tobywonkinoby8916 I feel like the Metanium is a lot smaller in the palm but it sits a bit taller on the rod. It’s not as low as the Steez in my opinion.

@@TBstr8nsty it’s not a Real Control rod. The first fish I caught, I was using the Steez Machine Gun Cast type 1 66M. Second fish was on a Steez Harrier 610H. Fourth fish was on a Steez Hermit 64L.

@dvangfishing thank you. I'm not so versed with these models, but have the Steez AGS 2021 line to be fantastic. I'm wanting more of this line and the Real Control Steez AGS 7'3" solid tip, as well as the 2021Steez AGS The Sensor 7' solid tip both casting models. Problem is no videos of anyone using them and no reviews.

@ that’s true but I’m sure you can’t go wrong with Daiwa’s high end gear.

Man, that’s a tough one. I really enjoy the Met DC. Casting and reeling. It’s probably one of the smoothest reel I have. I really enjoy the new Steez SV too. You can’t go wrong with either or.
