So many people, especially a lot of people who dont read fanfiction, are always going on about how fanfiction as a whole is bad or cringey. Its really nice to see them appreaciating the work some people do, especially cause TMA has some fantastic fanfiction.
Exactly, not one book has made me cry (or even come close), yet Comfortably Numb by Becky Gregory did. Sure, most of that thanks is due to the source material, but she was able to take that preconcieved emotions and turned it up to 8.
It is not "cringey" and it sure isn't "Bad", it's a form of writing that deserves respect.

I like fanfiction a lot, and occasionally write it, though I don't read too much of it. It makes me sad to see people blanket hate a genre because it's not proffesional. Yes you get some bad writing on there, because the writers aren't proffesional, but you get some incredible writing too. And anyway it's not a problem to write terribly written things sometimes; that's how people get better

This is the first time im seeing their faces and quite frankly i’ll never get used to that unique feeling of seeing podcasters faces for the first time after you’ve heard them play a character for years.
Truly; it's not my first time seeing them but I still can't quite get Jonny's voice and face to make sense together in my brain. I adjusted well and quickly to all the other actors, but whenever I see Jonny speaking, it feels mildly like ventriloquism 😂

re: fix-it fic, in specifically tma stuff I see the term used a lot where they don't mean they "fixed" the plot or the writing but instead to mean "fix" the bad things that happen in the story, like an "everyone's fine" au that they wouldn't necessarily want to be canon
btw personally I'm all about really well-done tma/mechs cross overs, they bring me so much joy
yeah. i think a key part of sad or tragic story is that there's a part of you that wishes it turned out better. And even if you don't want that kinder universe to be cannon, because you love the way the bad ending is written, you want the kinder universe to exist. Alongside the sad cannon. which is where fanfic comes in
Yeah, a lot of times what can make something so tragic is you can see the ways it might've not turned out as it did. Or it makes you wish you could make things better for the characters.

The GDPR fic is one of my favourites of all time, for good reason. I do love me a fanwork that is clearly written by an adult with a job who is very tired of that job.

Just finished watching, and it was an absolute hoot. Also, as someone who grew up writing fic, it's SO refreshing to see fanfic getting the recognition it deserves as a high-quality medium. Being free and derivative (and horny!) are not downsides! My anxiety is through the roof at being SEEN even though I'm not in this lol, but also feeling very mirthful, thanks boys! I REALLY want to use "ghost inflation" as a punk band name!

three months ago was on s1, and i think i finshed mag 200 two days ago, and I Dunno Why. ut i was expecting this to be an older thing they did soon after the finale. Tbh, im just not used to creators of content i like still being super active and doing side projects of said content with so much enjoyment and dedication. like honestly when i first got into tma (3 months back) i knew it was a Finished series, so i just expected everything to be super dormant. like a really quiet fandom.

we know that Agnes and Gertrude were connected, we know Gertrude had a penchant for using fire to solve problems, and we know that people tend to fall in love with Agnes. Sure, I don't think it should be canon, but this is not a "this should be canon" stream, this is a "this is good fanfic" stream.

im genuinely so blown away by their continual commitment to the fans. From day 1, this show was successful because of the connection between the fans and creators. Even though its been months since i thought about Magnus, i 1000% feel like part of the fandom when i watch stuff like this. Just wow! It feels like they’re being so indulgent in the best ways. The reason that a hundred twenty billion ghosts doesn't hit for me goes back to the Ottery Saint Mary episode of Cabin Pressure. I don't think anyone *can* imagine that many ghosts- it ceases to mean anything. If you think you're imagining that many ghosts, you're wrong- your just imagining a lot of ghosts. The number can't mean anything.
It was a terrible idea to start listening to this at work because I now have to try so hard not to laugh in my cubicle. Every single time Alex ducks his head to laugh, I am trying everything I have to not laugh too. This is so, so hard

On the way home I would phone my housemates before I went from a busy street to our quieter area. They would look out the window to watch for me and chat on the phone (good people). My mom was born in North Carolina but spent several years in England. I've been told I sound more New England when not being asked if I was British or German. "Shrugs"

Hearing the Virginian accents as a native Virginian was so funny (esp. since the region I’m from doesn’t have a southern accent). Johnny’s accent sounded more like a black southern one, though, which was pretty neat!
