Problem we're seeing here in Vegas is the people moving from Californaia are voting in the same crap they're fleeing. If you move to Nevada please vote and drive approprietly.
Just moved to NV from CA and you can rest assured, I will be voting conservatively. In fact, I'm excited about my voting actually mattering instead of just being drowned out by CA democrats.
I'm in Texas. I ask people, I get to know if they moved for the right reasons. Surprisingly, we Texans are pretty forthright like that, where I have heard of realtors showing homes to Californians asking them if they moved to Texas for all the right reasons. Thank goodness a good portion of them, say yes. They moved here because of the benefits of living in Texas. However, people do cite Austin and Houston as very liberal. However, they have always been pretty liberal. That's what you get for Austin, when their motto is "Keep Austin Weird". Plus it's a huge college town.
I give anyone fleeing California credit for acknowledging there's a problem and leaving. The problem is most of them keep voting for the same crap they left
But there's a difference...if a Californian moves to say, Missouri, other than in St. Louis or Kansas City, they're just a drop of blue in the Red Sea; i.e. the reverse of California. And, many (not all of course) realize fairly quickly that it IS different here, and maybe there are good reasons to vote differently here... (Also, in the Midwest, the rural voters, *if they choose to unite* can override the city voters. )

I moved from California and it was the greatest move ever. I moved because I simply outgrew California and the cost of living with the no rent control did it. It was simply overcrowded, even when I left the Los Angeles area to the IE. The elementary school was like a military camp when COVID hit instead of school. Being a homeowner was out of reach, so when a company offered me a relocation package I took it. It will be a year in November, and not even a year in I’m already a homeowner. I do not regret leaving Cali the place that I was born and raised in.
@@jmanil I moved out to Justin area/Fort Worth/Haslet area. Quiet and nice homes. About 30 to 40 minutes away from Dallas. I bought a new build. Just moved in it this past July.

Three families moved in on our street here in Gilbert, Arizona. All three are originally from California. Paid cash for close to million dollar homes - although the difference here has a closing gap. Prices are insane but have stabilized recently with the rise in interest rates. The fact Californians have cash means the higher rates mean very little to them.
I hope to heck they don't vote the same way they did in California. Here in Phoenix we are holding onto the conservative slant by the skin of our teeth what with all the new people coming in and acting stoopid.
I'm not wealthy so I'm not sure but I think in more recent decades Malibu has been the hot locale. It seems that the new trend among the wealthy out west is to make sprawling estates in scenic wealthy enclaves in western states (like Tahoe, Aspen, Jackson Hole, etc) your primary residence and homeschooling the children when they're young. With high speed internet they can do that now and "winter" in southern California or exotic tropical locales if they so desire. Once the children get older they can either move back to the California as part time residents and either rent or buy a small mansion so their children can have a city based social life or just send their kids to an exclusive boarding school.
Born and Raised in Hollywood and still live here. Parents been here since 89’ and Hollywood high has always been ghetto and has had fights, gangs, drugs. The Hollywood portrayed on TV for years and years is not what Hollywood is in terms of living and especially in more recent years it is genuinely horrible in all cities. I was in rodeo and ran into 3 or 4 homeless people when that wasn’t the case growing up. Democrats are driving this state to hell.

NO, I didn't get a college degree and am not rich nor am i upper middle class. But I am not poor, and now have a good job and rent out a house. I am not better than others. IT TAKES WILL. I am NOT knocking the poor, BUT i am getting tired of people saying its impossible. yes, being homeless two years wasn't great. BUT THE MONEY I SAVED by not having to pay rent was tremendous. I also sought out new job references whenever I got a chance to prove myself to somebody while working hard and homeless. IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. I know, seriously, I know its hard for some individuals and families who live in ghettos or who are dirt poor. the first step would be if they have a car. Plus, you could "stealth" camp inside your vehicle or near parks with tents. On youtube, there are plenty of channels thats show this. If you have to, you lie about your old living place, saying you are still there. Do a bit of prep. But you dont' need a lot of money to get the hell out of dodge and you can "reboot" your life. It probably won't make you rich or improove your finances, but it will improve your safety and some of your quality of life. And I think it can improve your finances.

Living outside of the anglosphere (Asia to be specific) and dealing with younger people for almost two decades, I can tell you first hand that the US has SQUANDERED the soft power cultural influence they used to have with Hollywood and the music industry. Hollywood started creating movies with Chinese audiences as a fundamental guiding creative principle and on top of that watered down the quality with wokeness. The kids I talk to cannot even name a SINGLE actor or actress of the current generation (apart from Leo because Titanic is the only movie many of them know outside of Disney) but they can tell you all about the latest K-dramas or K-pop. People outside used to look to American culture despite the failings of its government as a beacon of freedom of expression. This is why they pay money to see Hollywood movies and rock and roll. Not to find out what the Chinese censors want them to hear that particular year. Get it together America! You used to be creative!

That's not exactly true. If you move out of state, but still have a physical office in California - or, your company gets income from customers that live in California - yes you will still get taxed. But as long as you completely move yourself AND your physical operations out of California and no longer specifically derive your income from California customers....then you no longer have to pay tax to the state.

Me too, I am blue collar worker, raised and live 10 minutes from the coast, bought a house 25 years ago but I know I can't retire here, in fact, wages has dropped over time. I just don't know where I can go as I have no skills which puts me inside an air conditioned building, so the weather and climate is a huge deal for me. I feel stuck here, or get a job at a retail store elsewhere (huge downgrade in job status and pay fyi). it's an all around crappy situation.

Three families moved in on our street here in Gilbert, Arizona. All three are originally from California. Paid cash for close to million dollar homes - although the difference here has a closing gap. Prices are insane but have stabilized recently with the rise in interest rates. The fact Californians have cash means the higher rates mean very little to them.
I hope to heck they don't vote the same way they did in California. Here in Phoenix we are holding onto the conservative slant by the skin of our teeth what with all the new people coming in and acting stoopid.

I'm not wealthy so I'm not sure but I think in more recent decades Malibu has been the hot locale.
It seems that the new trend among the wealthy out west is to make sprawling estates in scenic wealthy enclaves in western states (like Tahoe, Aspen, Jackson Hole, etc) your primary residence and homeschooling the children when they're young. With high speed internet they can do that now and "winter" in southern California or exotic tropical locales if they so desire. Once the children get older they can either move back to the California as part time residents and either rent or buy a small mansion so their children can have a city based social life or just send their kids to an exclusive boarding school.
It's not all it was hyped up to be. For many it was hell..even the most beautiful guy or girl. Unhealthy environment in every way possible.

Born and Raised in Hollywood and still live here. Parents been here since 89’ and Hollywood high has always been ghetto and has had fights, gangs, drugs. The Hollywood portrayed on TV for years and years is not what Hollywood is in terms of living and especially in more recent years it is genuinely horrible in all cities. I was in rodeo and ran into 3 or 4 homeless people when that wasn’t the case growing up. Democrats are driving this state to hell.

NO, I didn't get a college degree and am not rich nor am i upper middle class. But I am not poor, and now have a good job and rent out a house. I am not better than others. IT TAKES WILL. I am NOT knocking the poor, BUT i am getting tired of people saying its impossible. yes, being homeless two years wasn't great. BUT THE MONEY I SAVED by not having to pay rent was tremendous. I also sought out new job references whenever I got a chance to prove myself to somebody while working hard and homeless. IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. So lady, not to be rude, but YOU CAN GET OUT of a place if you want to. IF YOU WANT TO....

Plus, you could "stealth" camp inside your vehicle or near parks with tents. On youtube, there are plenty of channels thats show this. Or just squat inside an abandoned house or railroard tunnel, preferably in the country somewhere. Act desperately if you have to. Another key is find DAY LABORER jobs and companies WHERE YOU CHOOSE to "run" to or relocate. I did. And where are the shelters inside another county?

If you have to, you lie about your old living place, saying you are still there. Do a bit of prep. But you dont' need a lot of money to get the hell out of dodge and you can "reboot" your life. It probably won't make you rich or improove your finances, but it will improve your safety and some of your quality of life. And I think it can improve your finances.

Living outside of the anglosphere (Asia to be specific) and dealing with younger people for almost two decades, I can tell you first hand that the US has SQUANDERED the soft power cultural influence they used to have with Hollywood and the music industry. The kids I talk to cannot even name a SINGLE actor or actress of the current generation (apart from Leo because Titanic is the only movie many of them know outside of Disney) but they can tell you all about the latest K-dramas or K-pop.
People outside used to look to American culture despite the failings of its government as a beacon of freedom of expression. This is why they pay money to see Hollywood movies and rock and roll. Not to find out what the Chinese censors want them to hear that particular year.

Me too, I am blue collar worker, raised and live 10 minutes from the coast, bought a house 25 years ago but I know I can't retire here, in fact, wages has dropped over time. I just don't know where I can go as I have no skills which puts me inside an air conditioned building, so the weather and climate is a huge deal for me. I feel stuck here, or get a job at a retail store elsewhere (huge downgrade in job status and pay fyi). it's an all around crappy situation.

Didn't happen to Las Vegas, where 1 out 3 residents moved from California, they made Las Vegas, a conservative city to start with, even more conservative. The only tax increases they approve are for more police protection.
It is really sad that they are so right about it. My fiancé has family here, and I have to be here, but if it was entirely up to me, I would be moving to Nevada as well. :(

And yes that’s exactly what I did with my wife in New Jersey we now currently reside in North Carolina. I moved from Hawaii to California, Hollywood to be specific. One of the first things I remember was a lot of Homeless people asking me for money. Unfortunately now that I have moved back to Hawaii, it's become more difficult to live out here also. The leadership of the Democraps has Destroyed all of America!!!!! FJB LET'S GO BRANDON!!! Marks a real one. My buddies and I met him back in 2004 or 2005. I went to high school with his nephew. The ladies were all giggling at the mall, they were really into the guy. He was used to it though, and carried himself like a good Uncle would. God Bless Him.
