hi!! i’m attending western next year and had a couple questions about rooming. i’ve heard people saying it’s harder to make friends if you res in suite style? idk if you already talked about this but did you find your other two roommates before or was it randomized. also do you know if it’s difficult to get ohall ? it’s the only res i really like haha! thank you :-)
my other two suite mates were completely random! i really lucked out! as for the making friends is harder part... it’s really what you make of it! you have to put yourself out there and hopefully your effort will be returned. i had a first choice as ohall and got it. i think it helps if u request a roomate. good luck!!!

the different credits are basically for breadth! they want you to take different types of courses for diversity! browse westerns site for which courses are which! hope this helps!
hey, your videos helped me make the decision to come to western next year :) I'm trying to order my res choices and was wondering what the parties are like at med syd in comparison to saugeen.
awe that’s awesome!! i hope u end up liking it that’s a lot of pressure on me 😰 i don’t know too much abt med syd parties but i do know that those who live in saugeen can sometimes struggle with finding a quiet place to study on the weekends or sleeping early! i’m sure you’ll find communities in both tho!
hey idk much about medsyd but saugs had a lot of parties in the beginning but everything kind of wound down more people started going to clubs and stuff rather than in-res parties. i personally don't think it's as crazy as the reputation but it was a great time i rlly loved saugs
Heyy so excited to go to western this fall. But just wondering as westerns a dominantly white school, do you sometimes get judged by your race? Is it harder to make friends?
this questions kinda complicated but to try and put it short. i got pretty minimal judgments based on my race but it was definitely more than i was used to at home in vancouver. as for making friends... i think you just gotta put extra effort in to show ppl who you really are ❤️ good luck and u got this hahahah
not sure how much u can help, but i applied to health sci and haven't heard back with a 90 overall average :((( do u know people who got in with 90 averages??? thx

Hey, I have got a question for you since I am enrolling into western med sci this fall. I have heard many people say that this program is very competitive, what does that exactly mean? How does it impact individual success? Can being in a program with a lot of keeners possibly negatively impact your own GPA? I have heard that profs can only give a certain percentage of the class a high GPA, so would that make it harder to be a part of that top percentage in a program with keeners like med sci vs some other program with students who are not as competitive.
hi! i think this mentality is the same w a lot of other pre med type programs but it is a lil less friends than most facs unfortunately. the profs can only bell curve our exams so much so much so that the majority fit in a certain quota. i would recommend looking at the competitive nature of it as a good thing to push you along!
