I was wondering the same thing. LOL. The AWD system automatically disengage the rear wheels when not needed but I bet it engages them when it feels its slipping the front wheels on the dyno.
Its like the Focus RS, you unplug the RDU and you get a fwd setup for tuning on a fwd dyno. The shafts still turns but the clutches doesnt engage the rear wheels. So the numbers would be similar to when the rdu is on.
I ordered a cover for mine, same thing as the ford escape, looks dope. You can even swap out the fully digital gauge cluster from the escape titanium if you want. Bronosport, escape and maverick are mostly the same parts.

These covers generally have a layer of insulation underneath them which does in fact reflect heat back on the engine and muffles engine noise from the valve train. I guess you've never heard of iat or intake Air temps. There's even a sensor built into the intake to measure that because as intake temps rise performance is decreased on any turbo engine. Please spend 15 minutes on Google doing some research before you put words in other people's mouths. Bunch of car enthusiasts with many different makes and models have removed these engine covers and the insulation under them to find lower intake temperatures, reduced heat soak, and steadier engine temps measured by the sensors that tell the computer to pull timing if temps get too high. Less timing leads to lower performance. There's also several companies that are already developing aftermarket intercoolers for the Maverick because testing on the factory intercooler shows that it's not very efficient.
No, no it doesn't. Go look up the Federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. Dealer must prove tune caused the failure. There's no blanket "your warranty is void".
Is this video a joke? I can't tell. You have an FX4, which is only available with all wheel drive and you have the front wheels on rollers, but the rear wheels are not...and they have straps running through them.

Theres literally a plug on the rdu that can be disconnected which locks in the read clutches in the rdu but still keepsnthe shaft spinning, thus you still keep the loss of power from the drive train in your numbers if you dont dyno on an awd one. I had a Focus RS for 3 years budd, I know what I am talking about. In Canada the only awd dyno available was over 2000km away from my home and had a fwd dyno at 250km away. Alot of Focus RS got tuned on fwd dynos with proper numbers showing. Just look into it mate. Dont be butthurt.
Good video, very interesting. I have one of your tunes for my 2021 E350 cutaway van. Big improvement in the hp and 1 - 1.5 increase in fuel mileage. With the FJB gas prices the tune will pay for itself in a year. 👍
Better torque, improves the fuel economy since it has to work less to get moving. i'm seeing over 10-15% improvement on my maverick, 28.5 city, 32 hwy avg on awd 2.0, boosted to 285hp, 325 tq, suck it hybrids lol!!!

Has anyone found anything that indicates the stock transmission can handle a tune? At stock power the truck is right at Fords max power rating for it.
I know the 4k towing package comes with a longer gear and stock with a bigger radiator and tranny cooler
4:33 - that small bed cubby has a "hidden compartment", when you open it slide out the bottom and it goes much deeper. Great for jumper cables, etc...
