The only problem is.... The government keeps ADDING NO FLY ZONES!! I live a few miles from an airport, and I still can't even fly near my house.

I agree - State of Fl doesn’t allow drones taking off in the any State Park. You can take off outside the park and fly in it. Every where you go - even county or city parks - look for the “No Drone” signs. State and Federal parks own a LOT of land - beautiful scenery - but not for drones.

I am near a small airport and I can override the flight restriction. It’s annoying you have to do this everytime.
It's for safety reasons. Let alone the whole drone. In case of malfunction on a freefall. The battery alone could kill someone if it falls on their head.
A great review as always by Iphonedo. Such a pleasure to watch, even for products I wouldn't buy (because I'd only fly 2 times a year making it a very expensive toy).

Thanks for the overview! The main question I have is ... does the ProRes actually add anything to the 166mm tele lens? Or it's just like converting an 8bit source footage in a 10bit file?
Only prores in the main camera.
@@calihawk82 on this new Mavic 3 Pro all 3 cameras can do ProRes, the question is if it makes any difference for the 166mm bringing in more data being 10 bit instead of 8 bit albeit with normal color and not log

Looking at getting this in a couple of months. It would be nice if DJI would add LOG recording on all the cameras to make things more consistent across the camera system.
Great review, just wish DJI would add a zoom lens to the main camera, that's all we need. Phones have had optical zoom for a long time, why not drones. We would get LOG and night mode all of the time. Cheers
I saw your introduction of mavic 2 active track two years ago, I was very impressed and liked it very much. I would like to see you to test Active Track 5.0 on mavic 3 pro 😊
One day I would love to have DJI and camera companies send me their products for review that would be living the dream can the cameras all film at the same time giving you a close medium and Anna pool body shot at the same time? That is awesome that is the case.
Thats what I was wondering - I know waypoints mean you can follow the same path - but thats not as effective as flying the path once but having all 3 cameras record at once - imagine the editing possibilities that would give you!

I’ve been using my first gen Mavic Pro since 2017 🙃.
Same! With each new release I tell myself "this time I'm finally going to upgrade!" But then my first gen is still going strong, I know that bird in and out and I'm comfortable flying it.
As far as I can tell from the review, this drone doesn't shoot still photos. Why do the reviewers and DJI ignore photography? I'm on my 6th DJI drone. I haven't had one yet that doesn't smear the details in the corner of the photos. Does the Mavic 3 Pro have better image quality than the Mavic 3?
Eric Staudenmaier actually in the beginning of the video he puts the info of each lens and how many MP photo resolution. The Micro 4/3 is 20MP, the 1/1.3 inch camera is 48MP and the 1/2 inch zoom camera is 12MP. Image quality is better than Mavic classic with the 1/1.3 inch and 1/2 inch cameras
@@lifejoy5703 Those are all tech specs. I can't find anyone on youtube actually reviewing this drone. Everyone's just citing the specs from the press release and speaking glowingly. The 4/3 camera uses a different sensor. Is it better in real world testing? Is the lens improved?
100% this. Tech specs are mostly useless and referencing them misses the point. How does the thing actually perform? It’s unlikely we will get this info until someone buys it with their own money. I’ve learned I can’t trust anyone who’s “reviewing” something given to them for a company’s marketing campaign. No disrespect intended towards the reviewer.
@@hey_im_him agreed. It’s weird. When a new lens or a new camera comes out there are many TH-camrs doing reviews, evaluating corner sharpness, aberration, distortion, comparing the item to other models, etc. The drone space is just filled with so much fluff.
@@ericstaudenmaier8134 this may be due to different audience expectations. A lens or a camera does just one thing, while these drones have literally hundreds of features above and far beyond a old school camera. Give it time, drones are a relatively new produce category.
Looks great, probably get it one day. Really wish they'd let us turn off landing protection, hate the fact that we can't. Also course lock would be good, so we can rotate and the drone will fly the same course heading.
use head tracking and you fly course heading but look in different direction

All wide panning shots, left - right, up - down are very jerky not smooth at all. Not the user just the drone.

Hi Faruk. Is the 3X camera 10-bit on the non-cine version, just like the main camera?
Yes, 10bit H265 Dlog-M for 3x camera. Just not prores. I never use prores on my mavic 3 cine. I do slower cinematic shots, so motion artifacts are never an issue.

A moment of silence for those who bought the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 classic 🤣 Dji really screwed you this time. I'm holding on to my precious Dji Air 2s. I have the best mode of any drone. It's called God Mode. 🤩😇
DJI changed their SD card folder and file naming scheme. My iPad Pro 11" Photo app can't read Mavic 3 Pro (or Action 3) files I try to import from their SD cards. The media file names are too long, too. Have you noticed this problem, too? Can you suggest a workaround? It's not practical for me to take my MacBook Pro out in the field when I practice my drone photography hobby. My Mavic 3 and other DJI drones continue to work as their folder and file naming scheme hasn't changed. Yet. Thank you.
Man if only you could use all three cameras simultaneously! Mavic 3 pro vs.2? ha DJI marketing plan right!... Question for ya please answer: The M3 has a digital tele at 3x that gives the same affect as the M3 Pro at 3x. How much real difference is there in the optical lense and the telephoto lense? Is it really worth spending the money to upgrade?
For a non pro drone flyer, is it worth updating from the A2s to this or the classic?
Extra weight will be problem in EU: sub 900g drones Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Classic (895g., EU versions) falls into C1 category, but 958g. Mavic 3 Pro falls into C2: extra examination in class and additional restrictions.
What is the problem with C2 class? What are the additional restrictions? Need special permits or?
Still not good enough to replace my Mavic 2 Zoom. I want something as fast as the dji fpv but with fold up form factor
