I want to see that showdown as well. I’m shopping for my first lever gun, preferably in 45-70. Aiming more towards Ruger/ Marlin tactical lever gun based on more modern, higher capacity and whatever else I could find on their websites
Make sure you’re not suffering from Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), effecting your larynx (the voice box). P.S. I’ll stick with the Marlin 1895 SBL 18” 6RD .45-70 GOVT.
I heard someone on the radio talk about a 30-30 to carry on the back seat of the truck , great idea , red dot folding stock, it actually fits perfectly under the seat of my dodge
Love lever guns. My collection features a Marlin 336BL, Mossberg 402 Palomino, and a Rossi Rio Bravo. All are great guns and the latter two where aquired for under $300 each.
Good video, Got my attention on the you tube page because I love lever actions. A bear guide in Alaska told me that lever actions in a large bore caliber were the guides defense gun of choice in the event of an attacking bears because of their speed and reliable action. Good luck with the voice.
I absolutely love my Henrys! Have a Henry Big Boy in .44 Magnum, the brass receiver is just gorgeous! The brass buttplate combined with .44 Magnum can be...painful... but that's nothing a little sucking it up can't fix. My baby though is my Henry Model X in 30-30. I've done it up with Ranger Point Precision parts and not only is it a dependable rifle, it's also absolutely beautiful! I just wish we have something akin to Mad Pig Customs up here in Canada. I would love to get one of their Thumpers!
Love my Rossi R 92, have mine in 44 Magnum, got it when I was looking for a straight wall cartridge deer gun as in my county straight wall cartridges are the only rifles that you can use to hunt deer. Was trying to look for a, 1895 SBL but they are too much money for me currently but the Rossi for the money is an amazing gun
Unless you have done it already how about a build-off on lever guns? Do a high, completely custom tactical, midlevel and then inexpensive off the shelf and put them all though their paces like you did the ARs and bolt actions.
I used to have a Mariin model 36. In 30-30. Low serial number with original sights.unfortunately, someone had tapped it for a scope even though they put other screws in to fill the holes. At least you got close to one of the lever actions I had. I currently have a pw 87 which is a copy of the 1887 model winchester.that was originally 10 gauge but mine is a twelve.
definitely like to see the comparison of the .45-70's. Remember that during the long history of the cartridge, literally every big game animal on the planet has been taken with .45-70 - and most of them when this was still a black powder load. Look it up.
Great video and really appreciate it being in Illinois which lost its damn mind. My next rifle will definitely be a lever gun. Nice to see some great options.
Just asking for clarification did Matt say short of a Moose? Because in Alaska I have taken Kodiak Bear, Moose, Deer, Caribou etc you get the point. With the correct loads and of course distance there is nothing I wouldn't hunt. Look into Garrett Ammunition for all your needs.
Kinda sad the Henry long ranger series didn't make the list cuz it's such a unique design would a good replacement for the 1895 Winchester same primus just modern and available
All this talk about modernizing the lever gun, and the Henry X Model gets ghosted. Love mine with the Ranger Point Precision handguard. Comes factory with polymer furniture, fiber optic sights, pic rail and mlok on handguard, threaded barrel, and a side gate.
Clint practicing his Batman voice? I love my Henry Mares leg 22lr pistol. It can shoot 22 short, Colibri, 22 long, and 22 long rifle. I have speed tubes cut to size for easy reloading. I wish it was side loading.
@@Jeff.78 300winmag in a relatively light takedown package that will fit in a medium pelican with ammo is probably the ideal option for a big critter hunter that needs to fly to his stomping grounds.
really disappointed that you did not mention the BLR. Particularly since Matt wanted a Winchester in 7.62 x 54R. I have a BLR In .308. Great shooting gun that combines a more modern cartridge in a classic lever. Also has a box magazine for quick reloads. A lot cheaper that some Obscure Historical Winchester. Also a bit disappointed that no love was given to the .444 Marlin cartridge.
I'm obsessed with lever guns at the moment. Just waiting patiently for a new Ruger made Marlin 1894 in 357mag. But I might have to cave and get the Henry
Love my father in laws marlin 336 he's had it forever but I loved getting to shoot that thing so smooth and very pleasing to here the rounds hit there mark
What is the one from Terminator 2 where Arnold is on the motorcycle and he’s shooting everything in 1 shot and then flipping the gun around by the lever and reloading it??? Does anyone know what that is?
1:09 Winchester 1873 20'' .357 Mag/.38 SPL
2:40 Rossi R92 16'' 8rd .357/.38
4:51 Henry All Weather .45-70 picatinny 6rd
8:11 Marlin 1895SBL .45-70
10:54 **Honorable Mentions** Clint: **any** .22 lever gun (Henry Frontier Model Long Barrel 24'' shown) .22 WMR; Matt: Winchester M1895 (7.62×54R contract guns)
13:00 -POF Tombstone- Marlin 336 (reintroduced) 20'' 6rd .30-30 Win.
Clint from Classic Firearms is evolving into Clint from Thunder Ranch.
I was thinking the same thing.
I would like to see a Henry vs. Marlin .45-70 comparison.
Marlin is better. Henry uses MIM parts
Me too.
I'd love to see a .45-70 showdown.
As someone who is running the Henry 45-70 AW I'd love to see a throwdown between it and the Marlin!
I would love it as I love Marlin but want to see how it competes with Henry or Winchester.
I want to see that showdown as well. I’m shopping for my first lever gun, preferably in 45-70. Aiming more towards Ruger/ Marlin tactical lever gun based on more modern, higher capacity and whatever else I could find on their websites
Clint doing his best RFK impersonation.
Side note the Henry all weather is the best 😄
Browning BLR- even offered in belted magnums!
Make sure you’re not suffering from Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), effecting your larynx (the voice box).
P.S. I’ll stick with the Marlin 1895 SBL 18” 6RD .45-70 GOVT.
I love my Marlin 336 in .30-30 Winchester. I got mine from my dad when I was 9. It was his and I carry it every year.
i bought one 50 years ago and it does the job every time.
Totally should compare the Henry AW & Marlin 1895 SBL!
Yes. Definitely want a showdown video. Currently in the market for a lever action 357 and possibly a .22lr so it'd be great to see that video
I’d love more lever videos! Definitely the comparison video
Is it really a collection without a Henry or 7?
I have a 308 Henry long ranger. Great for ammo reasons, great for a lever. Awesome line of guns!
Good video, Got my attention on the you tube page because I love lever actions. A bear guide in Alaska told me that lever actions in a large bore caliber were the guides defense gun of choice in the event of an attacking bears because of their speed and reliable action. Good luck with the voice.
Big fan of my Marlin 1894 - I compete with it in the UK and with a decent diopter sight, it can outshoot a scoped rifle at 25yrds.
I could not agree more! I have a 1986 Marlin 336cs 30/30 Win, and I love it!
Henry vs Marlin!!! Henry is one of the few cool things to come outta Jersey.
I absolutely love my Henrys!
Have a Henry Big Boy in .44 Magnum, the brass receiver is just gorgeous! The brass buttplate combined with .44 Magnum can be...painful... but that's nothing a little sucking it up can't fix.

Rossi R95 in 30-30 with two models 16’’ trapper and 20’’ Traditional. And they also just released it in 45-70.
Unless you have done it already how about a build-off on lever guns? Do a high, completely custom tactical, midlevel and then inexpensive off the shelf and put them all though their paces like you did the ARs and bolt actions.
I just SBR'd my Henry Mares Leg in 45 Colt. Between that and my Marlin Trapper 45-70, I can't decide which is my favorite.
You completely overlooked the mare's leg. It deserves at least an honorable mention in every lever list.
New Marlin 336 needs production in 35 Remington!
I would love to see a 45-70 showdown.
I agree with the #1. I have a marlin model 336CS. Love it.
I would like to see a comparison of the Henry vs Marlin .45-70
I used to have a Mariin model 36. In 30-30. Low serial number with original sights.unfortunately, someone had tapped it for a scope even though they put other screws in to fill the holes.

I love seeing modern guns with legacy calibers
Yeah do a comparison video between the Marlin and the Henry .45 70.
Thxz, Video was very much helpful!!
The Rossi is also available in 454 casull!
@CIassicFirearm prize?
definitely like to see the comparison of the .45-70's.
Remember that during the long history of the cartridge, literally every big game animal on the planet has been taken with .45-70 - and most of them when this was still a black powder load. Look it up.
Halloween around the corner. It's a good time to pick up glow in the dark nail polish for the front site.
Henry long ranger, modern caliber lever guns
Nice list! I have a question. Why can't I find a lever-action gun chambered in 350 Legend. I live in one of those states and that would be perfect.
I wish Winchester still made the 108 in .243 & .308. If the added a 6.5 Creedmore it would be perfect
Great video and really appreciate it being in Illinois which lost its damn mind. My next rifle will definitely be a lever gun. Nice to see some great options.
Would love to see 300 savage made a comeback.
Which lever action rifle do you recommend for women, or does it matter?
Kinda sad the Henry long ranger series didn't make the list cuz it's such a unique design would a good replacement for the 1895 Winchester same primus just modern and available
Yes!!!! I want to see the comparison between the henry all-weather 45-70 and the Marlin SBLin 45-70...
Ooh...me likey. Can't wait to watch. Just bought myself a Marlin model 1895 in .45-70 and i am crushing hard on it. ❤
Absolutely love the darling 336 would love to see a full reveiw and accessories for it
Just bought that exact Rossi 357 for Christmas 😊 also bought a 44mag a while back also Rossi, amazing guns
I hear the S&W 1854 is something quite amazing, and should be in the next lineup of your lever action reviews.
All this talk about modernizing the lever gun, and the Henry X Model gets ghosted. Love mine with the Ranger Point Precision handguard. Comes factory with polymer furniture, fiber optic sights, pic rail and mlok on handguard, threaded barrel, and a side gate.
Id love to see the comparisons
Marlin 336 is my favorite. Me and my dad both own one. His is in 35 Rem and mine is 30-30
I heard the Henry 4517 discharges without the trigger being pulled if it’s dropped
That new DARK series by Marlin is badass! Ruger did a good job taking over Marlin.
What about model 64 from Winchester
Henry vs marlin 1895 comparison for sure!! Do it!!
Love the look of that Rossi but want the 44 magnum version...
I know my pick already. But I'd like to see the 45-70s comparison.
I would like to see a comparison of the marlin and henry!
Guy on the left knows his lever rifles
Clint practicing his Batman voice? I love my Henry Mares leg 22lr pistol. It can shoot 22 short, Colibri, 22 long, and 22 long rifle. I have speed tubes cut to size for easy reloading. I wish it was side loading.
Best duo on the tube
Any Henry pistol caliber side gate with 20” barrel.
Love all those levers, esp. Marlin!!
Clint who did you shout at before the video?
i love that hes talking about lever guns while sounding like john marston
No Browning BLR?
Probably my favorite due to box mags and caliber selection.
@@Jeff.78
300winmag in a relatively light takedown package that will fit in a medium pelican with ammo is probably the ideal option for a big critter hunter that needs to fly to his stomping grounds.
I have a beautiful 70s Marlin 336 with a red dot I love it!
Agree on Marlin 336 in 30-30. That's why I own one! I just wish 30-30 ammo didn't cost so much!!! LOL
I’d like to see the Marlin/Henry comparison
I’d like to see a best side charging folding stock ar type video. Like ACR, Scar, JAKL, Arak21, etc
My favorite levet action rifle is the 1892 mare's leg rifle.
really disappointed that you did not mention the BLR. Particularly since Matt wanted a Winchester in 7.62 x 54R. I have a BLR In .308. Great shooting gun that combines a more modern cartridge in a classic lever. Also has a box magazine for quick reloads. A lot cheaper that some Obscure Historical Winchester. Do comparison. Marlin vs Henry
Henry golden boy and the repeating are two contenders for sure.
I'm obsessed with lever guns at the moment. Just waiting patiently for a new Ruger made Marlin 1894 in 357mag. But I might have to cave and get the Henry
Browning BLR.
Love the Henry Long Ranger in .308
Would be good to see the comparison. TY
@CIassicFirearm what’s the prize?
Yes, please
Do That Comparison
My fav is my Savage 243. Never gets it dues
Agreed to everyone else who says yes to a 45-70 showdown.
Hello can u make a video on stoger str 9 S combat
Can’t believe that Clint got possessed by the spirit of john marston
The Marlin 336 what a great rifle
I prefer my Henry rifles, American made or not made at all!
Even though it's a fairly new cartridge I think you should check out the 350 legion it's similar to the 30/30 but not the same
Nice
Can anyone tell me what the gun is on the top right of the wall with the tan cam
Yes do a Henry vs Marlin compare
Voice is lost? You haven't been hanging around the new navy spokesman have you?
My Henry's are my favorite. Why? Made in the USA, or not made at all.
My personal favorite is the Winchester 1886
Bring on the .45-70 showdown!!!
🇺🇸👍😎
Winchester model 88 .308 is my honorable mention
Missed the Henry X and the Marlin Dark !
Just bought a 336 today...fk yeah!
Savage needs to bring back the model 99
Yes comparison please!
Need a guest interview with Clint Smith while your voice is like this... I'm sure he'd get a kick out of it too...
Why is the browning blr never included it's the best lever action
