Watching this on 7th August, a day after hearing the terrible news of the fire. This video is an absolute treasure now, showing how it was so recently, and with the fascinating "extra bonuses" of the drone footage and the BBC of how it used to be for so many years. At least those of us who loved it will have our memories, as well as beautiful videos like this.
It's great that you've got this wonderful footage of a famous pub, i bet your pleased to have it and sad along with everyone else that it's gone. Hopefully the police will follow up on their investigation on the arson and demolition of the Crooked House and prosecute those responsible.
Thanks for this. I suspect that many scale models of the Glynn Arms will be made now it has reached greater fame! I intent making one for my model railway layout and your video helps fill the visual gaps necessary for me to prepare scale drawings before i start. If the project, no, WHEN the project reaches fruition I'll try to remember to put it on youtube. Cheers!
I was born just a stones throw from there, how sad that other people will never be able to go and see this wonder. Why wasn't it a protected building. This was the only one of its kind in the whole world that looked like this, What a sad loss.
Why would someone do what they did to such an extravagant and quirky building. From the drone footage, the new roof on the main building looked sound enough. And what was not shown on any news reports was the extension on the back. While I can understand that some public houses are struggling to keep afloat, so much could have been done with place. Such a shame. I do hope someone is brought to task over this.
Never been there but always wanted to go and this will be the nearest I will get so thank you. I hope there will be an investigation because it stinks of deliberate arson 😢
The punchbowl inn was also destroyed by developers this year and they have been ordered to rebuild it. I don’t like all this greed. People have become money and power obsessed.
What can I say, a vid right up my street. When I watched your filming I thought did I see this pub in a documentary many moons ago. Right at the end there it was..the black n white bbc film of it. That coin rolling down the wall is ace. We'll done Yam Yam, loved that👏👏🍺
This place was a true hear ov Black Country history proud too av spent many years there watching my kids in the playground having banter withe the dingles sad sad loss the new owners need too be held accountable it was all planned discusting they couldn’t wait too demolish it how was that allowed absolutely stinks
This video and others like it are now the only reminders of The Crooked House (Glynne Arms) the new owners burned it down and bulldozed it. 6th August 2023 the pub has gone ta-ta's!
Most definitely folks they should go BROKE FOR THIS THEY DONT GIVE A CRAP WHAT THEY DID THEY WANTED THE MONEY MONEY MONEY PAL THEM TOO SHOULD BE MADE TOO PAY FOR THE FOLKES UP THE ALBION BOUNG BOING
They bought it and it was theirs to do what they liked with. It was just a knackered old building that would have likely fallen down anyway. Good riddence to that old eyesore.
That is our heritage and local Black Country folk have strong feelings for this building,,,, your comment is typical of the "Greedy London heartless money grabbers.." sorry should have said money crims.

Excellent drone footage. The more I see of this story the sadder I become. Sacrilege.
Great that you documented it so timely

sad to hear of the pubs demise, at least you recorded some historical footage.
any ghosts will now be homeless
It's absolutely criminal that this building was torn down. Whoever ordered it and lit it on fire should be publicly shamed and arrested
Absolutely devastating with the blaze and demolition..
However the lane and site was a shithole and the CH deserved better...

We're becoming more and more like America in this respect. Particularly since 2016 - and I find this very alarming.
@@robtyman4281 social media showing off plays a big part in it.
This was a "CROCKED DEAL" Rebuild as original,

This sort of thing used to regularly happen when dodgy builders bought places. They always got away with it through the Freemasons.
Jail the new owners

Used to drink every Friday lunch time
Pint mild used to work behind pub for Mobberley brick works for 😢😢
Do you have this drone footage in 4k? Would love to see if in all its glory
I will have a look, I should do 👍🏻
They must be able to build a replica. It's a bit Disney, but it is an option.
Why not! At the cost to the development company who committed the atrocity
What's the song called that starts when the drone goes up? It's awesome
Gone 😢
