Tones and I..... freaking amazing Aussie artist....... I'm an Aussie woman in her mid 50's but I love listening to Triple J.... the new artists etc. to find out who is coming through.... and this wonderful artist is one of our best.
You need to watch her actuall music video of this song. She was a battling street busker, and became famous from her song. This is why in this she said one day she will play there , and she made it happen. In that why so happy to be there
The craziest part about this performance was that she was put on as the opener. You don't see crowds like that at the opening act at a festival. People got there early and were running to see her.
I loved seeing a wonderful lady singing beautifully, fun young song, with a massive crowd bopping along with her, and who wasn't wearing lingerie and dancing like Beyonce.
One of those freakish massive hits, 1st time hearing it "what is this?", 2nd time "OK', 3rd time it's in you're head all day. She had a couple more hits, but this made her enough to live off for a long time, she invested well (she's very savvy) and can now do what makes her happy, I think she got sick of that spotlight pretty quick too, so good for her. ✌❤
I’m a bit like you Mike , this music is not on my radar but ….. 😮 wow it’s a feel good song that’s having a crack at the establishment. People enjoying home grown music is the point . Great request Gorch . Thx mike 😊
I dug this, Gorch. I didn’t know quite what to expect at first. Mike, your commentary is fricken awesome. Your comments about the young people in the audience having a blast when they could be sitting at home doing bugger all is sooo true. You smiling and just digging the whole vibe and passion for new music and experiences is absolutely contagious. ❤🇦🇺👍
Yes, and it was because of busking and a request from someone that resulted in this song being written in like 15 minutes. But she's sick of being asked about it. I get it, my son, and AGT finalist, gets sick of being asked about being on that show etc. There's so much more to them. 😊
@@QuestionThingsUseLogic Super well done to your son! ❤ But I can imagine it’s like being an actor and being typecast. Like being put in a little box when you have so much more depth and so much more to offer. ❤️🇦🇺👍
Like many buskers she worked hard doing what she had to do, until one day, she was discovered. Admire her very much. Another of T&I's songs I like is "Bad Child". Mike have to comment did you choose your reaction location today or did your wife! Ha Ha😂
I vaguely knew this song, but hardly anything about her. She was a warmup act when P!nk performed in Adelaide and I very much enjoyed her performance. She stopped mid song when she saw someone collapse in the audience, it was well over 100degF in the shade and people had been in the sun for hours before she came out. She flatly refused to restart her act until the stadium handed out bottled water for free to the audience. It’s not my genre but I very much rate her as a person, and she puts on an entertaining show. P!nk was good too, she’s very popular in Australia, but was nowhere near as “genuine”
This song nearly destroyed tones. The song was written about being a music puppet, dancing on demand. It's a great song, but listen close to the words, it's not the happy song it sounds.
She invested the money made from this song into property and is financially sound. That has allowed her to concentrate on doing the music she wants and not worry about finances. However, like a lot of artists who have a breakthrough song, everything else she does is unfairly compared to Dance Monkey.
Cheers Mike Just like you not my style But got a kick as well at everyone out enjoying themselves Better then like you said stuck on social media or causing trouble This is all positive great for metal health for everyone Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
Soooo good, Gilly! I was thinking of requesting that a while ago, but it was such a huge hit I thought Mike probably would have heard it already. ❤️🇦🇺🇳🇿👍
She's a one hit wonder, but hell who cares? She made a motza$$ off this song😂 I'm with you Mike generally this isn't my type of music, but it is a catchy tune

I hadn’t heard of this lass before, but I love P!nk. When my older daughter got to that age where it’s difficult to think of birthday and Christmas presents I started buying her concert tickets and she saw P!nk two or three times in the early days. Her concerts are legendary. The thing I love about her (apart from her music) is that she’s always been such a positive role model for young women, unlike a lot of the young female singers nowadays. ❤ BTW, I love your handle!! Very clever! 😂❤️🇦🇺👍

Just love watching the crowd sway like ripe sugarcane in the breeze (appropriate because Byron Bay is a sugarcane area). Love this!

Well said, Anthea. ❤
Not my genre either, but a great song, great message and Tone's story is a great one.

She's just so awesome. Music is the most important thing to her. She doesn't have to do anything but be herself and keep making music.
Love this song!! My gym dance teacher used this song for one of our workout songs!!
It’s so catchy but I love her message and although the melody is deceptively feel good, the words tell her feelings and frustration. Great choice

She used to busker in Byron bay before she came out with her 1st song which was this song that nade her famous.

@@turdferguson400 thanks and exactly right! Appreciate you understanding. 🦘🦘
Tones and I looks completely different now as she has lost a lot of weight
Popular Aussie singer and recently toured with P!NK in 2024

Byron bay is New South Wales not Victoria. But she is from Victoria.
She busked in Frankston, correct
Yes, about an hour south of the Qld border. Used to live in the region & have even busked at Byron.

It was in reference to her singing. ‘One more time’ & ‘play it again’ ad nauseum as a busker
I'm a big fan of you Buck, but sorry, although the song is a bit of fun, not a fan myself. Great to see people having fun though.

I like her other stuff much more. Love Dance Monkey too, but she goes so much deeper than ear worm material.
Cheers Mike

Guessing the one that's hard to pronounce is Gotye..... absolutely massive global hit song " someone i used to know" another ear worm

@revolutionday1 yep, got it in one
Morning Mike 5.18k..... this is a real ear worm
Ear bleeeeeeder...🤮
so that's where Raygun got her moves from,

Whack😂
She got them straight from Kath and Kim ;)
What’s a Raygun? 🤣🤷♀️

She looked good anyway.
She more riz that most, she always looks awesome.
I'm pretty sure Byron is in NSW . That song has left me a little confused on how I felt about it maybe bemused is more accurate.

She's not really chasing Number 1s.
OK the person picked the live version but the studio version is way much better
I'm so sorry you had to put up with this....
As Mike pointed out, just look at all those kids having a blast! That’s gotta be a positive thing! ❤️🇦🇺👍
