This looks fantastic - though I think we would probably house-rule the last player marker out, but we'd have to see how it goes. Our favourite patching game is the card version of Carson City. It's silky smooth to play, perfectly balanced and the only remotely complex game we've been able to teach our family! Quickly, too.
Hi! You can easily play without the master token rule. This exists because with 3 or 4 players, with the enthusiasm to do their actions immediately, it is very easy at some point to be confused about who has already chosen a card or not, whether the round is finished or not, etc.
@@josecarlossantos292 Yep definitely sounds sensible with more players. I can definitely see us doing that with less board game-savvy family members in particular! Good to see a new approach being advocated as well. It just didn't seem like an idea which fitted well with 2 players (which is what we normally do).
I love playing Hanging Gardens on Yucata and was so disappointed when I realized it was OOP. This one is card patching AND engine building, which sounds even better! Thanks for sharing this game.
That's funny-I read the title and for a brief moment thought this was a review of the Café Rundown. I thought, yeah, I've been there, aside from the problem with flies the pastries looked surprisingly good.
Rahdo, since you mentioned you placed 4-5 times, I presume you haven't tried the advanced variant, where everyone is bidding for the master token. In that variant ship squares have additional uses, i.e. give discounts in auction. I haven't played/own the game, but I am interested in what you think about the advanced variant on the last page of the rulebook.
i do really like the idea of the ship having more use but i didn't try it because i was worried it would bog the game down a bit. but i should really give it a go i suppose!
19:32 It sounds like he’s suggesting that having 1 yellow and 2 brown beans would be worse than having zero of them because they would cancel out the 3 green and 3 red scoring in the warehouse. Actually if he had no yellow or brown beans, it would be worse, because then he would score zero for the warehouse. In other words, zero beans counts as one of “the colors with the fewest cubes.”
yup, having zero would be worse, that's correct. i was just doing a hypothetical there. in reality it's incredibly unlikely you won't have some beans in all 4 colors at the end of the game :)
Every rundown or playthrough of yours is gold for me not to touch the rulebook, Thank you so much. One think that I dont see here (or missed) or in the rulebook: you can only score multiple once per cafe? or can you send multiple beans and score multiple times at the end of the game?

Maybe just cut back on some habits for the month? Less coffee from coffee shops, if u smoke cut back, if you drink cola cut back, drink alcohol cut back, don’t eat out as much and use the extra bucks and go premium TH-cam and save a tonnnnnnn of time watching advertisements. Time is money. It’s well worth it. My 2 cents.

@@steveleamont I do miss the time when I stopped watching live TV to watch TH-cam because TH-cam didn't have the in-your-face adverts (plus you could play the sounds without having to have the app on screen). It's inevitable that ads would arrive on TH-cam, but the fact this stuff used to be the selling point of TH-cam does make TH-cam premium feel particularly artificial.
@@rahdo Agreed! I once tried cutting my premium subscription to save a bit of money and immediately resubscribed to it because I couldn't stand the constant ads everywhere.
Nice game but the camera angle is not the best in this video and it is hard to see all the icons, specially for the cards on the market. Hope you go back to your previous angle Point of view.
it plays well, except that it's a "try to beat your high score" and the game doesn't even provide a "how well you scored" chart, which is unfortunate. but the gameplay itself is fun
i think it'll be going into retail soon, though you might want to ask the publishers at pythagoras.pt/contactos they'd have more information obviously :)
