Loved this! Absolute shout with Fanboy3. It's Lee who used to run GR Liverpool and seeing this pop up in my recs was amazing! Hope its going well mate!
I have been to two of these, took my friend to dice saloon in Brighton when we were there on a trip, introduced her to board games with codenames duet and sagrada. Popped into thirsty meeples in oxford with my husband last year and drooled over the games 😅
Elliot, thanks man. Very cool journey you're on with Influencer and making a cafe. Thanks for sharing all the practical insights you found along the way. I appreciated the details you highlighted around business tactics, cafe layout, pricing, and box size.
I've been to two of those! (Dice Saloon in Brighton and Ludoquist, my local, in Croydon) and my work colleague to one (Thirsty Meeples in Oxford). I always feel welcome in Ludoquist - it has a lovely atmosphere there, the staff are friendly and Nick the owner is a nice guy. Plus the food is good. Dice Saloon had a bigger choice of games (my heart leapt when I walked in) but the shop owner was a bit miserable and not very chatty when I visited.
Sorry I'm late to this. A brilliant video, and much respect for going to all those board game cafe's to give us an overview of each, and how they differ from one another. I love that you included a short interview with each owner/manager for their take. Since the only board game cafe I've been to is Chance & Counters based in Bristol (who do not sell board games) I never considered a board game cafe as a place to sell my game. Food for thought :-) I love Dave's end comment... so true.
Nice video, and lots of food for thought - just one criticism - the title is a little misleading - you didn't visit any of Scotland's many board game cafes in your review, it's part of the UK as well?
Is there a website where can find a list of Board Game Cafes. Trying to find one near me and then to see if accessible to wheelchairs. So was wondering if there is a list. Have done searches but mainly bring up gaming shops. Many thanks.

Love that you went to the trouble to visit a range of board game cafes and share with us. Useful insights to box sizes and display space 👌
I couldnt resist! I was visiting them all anyway for market research and making links. No trouble. But loads of fun!!
Great review Elliott! I love the idea of you with a board game cafe! Count me in when you start up...
Thanks mate. We'll see how it goes ;)
Huge fan of Dice Worthing, great place to go and awesome staff

Such a great vid!
Great video! I am designing my own game and I want to open my own board game cafe too! So it was like you were speaking right to me ✨ 😊
Go for it!

Hey friend! Do you also review Adventrue Settings for RPG's?
Not yet. What did you have in mind?
You missed a trick whilst in the area with the Comic Shop in Crawley who have undergone the transformation to Board Game Cafe...
I did consider it. But passed it by as it was promoted entirely as a comic shop rather than a board game cafe. So it didnt really call out to me
I'm surprised Draughts wasn't on the list
