This one! Pre-ordered after watching you and Rahdo talking about filler games. Just waiting for it to ship! Oh I forgot about Furnace but that isn’t coming out until next year.
I had this on my radar since Rahdo first covered it, but it was not available at that time, so forgot all about it. After watching your playthrough I checked again and a single shop in my country had it. Thanks for the "reminder"
When I saw this on pre-order I picked it up. I don't have a lot of filler games and it's always a bit hard finding a good balance between accessibility and strategy, because I want to introduce people to boardgames ... but also not fall asleep :p This seems like a good game for that, thanks for the review!
I got my button you guys sent by the way - thanks so much for the button and handwritten note - this community is so cool! Can't wait to wear it around in board game cafes and cons again when they are possible.
So nice to see yinz get a play through of Cafe posted. I have been looking forward to this since your Rahdo filler discussion. I have it on order at my FLGS and am looking forward to getting it to the table. Thanks and nice to see Dexter join the game.
thanks for your excellent review for another filller friday, I once again have another game added to my wishlist. I was waiting for this review since Rahdo talk to you about it
This was such an informative and enjoyable play through - thank you! I got my copy after watching Rahdo talk about it on the show that you three were together, but haven’t had the time to play it yet. Great show and reviews - I just subscribed. Keep up the great work!
Just got this today, played a solo and 2-player to get the hang of it. Was intrigued when you two were talking with Rahdo about it, and have to say it seems like a fantastic little brain burner! After watching you play, I see I was making it even harder than it needed to be: was only producing on orthogonally adjacent of ONE colour per action spent, and as well was somehow convinced everything need to be in a-b-c-d order of action. Yikes! Should be a little smoother and a little better scores next time out. Thanks for the help!
@@BeforeYouPlay Ha! I was watching you two score out and was thinking " Oh I can do better than that!" and then proceeded to barely score double digits my first three games... Hubris gets me very time! ;)
Games like this and Hanging Gardens, you can use a playmat so you can shift around more easily. Now i dont use one but then again, i am not filming my playtrhough. thanks for this, as I have come to appreciate "fillers' when Karen and I are not in the mood (or dont have time / energy) for a normal length game.
@33:43 someone should have gotten an instant point for a great pronunciation of 'Viana do Castelo' :) Great playthrough and review. My wallet doesn't like you but I'm ok with that.
Great review, thanks! That luck element with revealed cards is a bit of a deal breaker for me, only because my shelves are full and I need to be super picky now.. But it looks fun!
Nice review. This game will be released in Brazill soon. After gameplay and all your explanations I am even more excited to buy it. P.S: I don't remember last review video that I have watched that Reveen beat Monique 😁. Just joking. You guys are awesome!!
Great play through!!! Definitely a game to look for. I have so many videos to catch up, especially of the pfister series! You've really being putting a lot of work in the channel lately, which is appreciated. Planning "vacations" any time soon?
I'm not really a fan of "layering" games (had to look up the name of the mechanism on bgg), but this one looks fantastic. Will be pre-ordering it right away.
@@BeforeYouPlay Maybe it's the fusion with pick up and deliver, or setting up the combo-ing actions. I don't know. I did get it ordered at my FLGS today, so I'm looking forward to figuring out why this one looks so compelling (I'm not a coffee drinker, so that's definitely not it).
Monique and Naveen, so what is your current favorite game where you overlap cards like this? I love that mechanic and dont see it often, so wanted to know what the current favorite. This looks great and might get it.
Monique, in around five it looks like you used to deliver actions (from your roaster) for only one action point although the roasters were not beside each other. Is that allowed?
Hi! Good question! Yes, for the deliver action, you must deliver from all of your roasters. The “deliver” action is not actually represented on the cards as a symbol, so the orthogonally adjacent rule does not apply.
Like it very much. So what is the ability of the ships again? The Grizzled, The crew and Lost cities are small boxed games I enjoy. But love to follow it up with this one. Made a coffee Builder game myself for an 18 card challenge. But this one (café) has much more panache to it.
I just recently discovered your channel (excellent job by the way) and must have watched 3-4 playtroughs until now, this one, Alchemists, Broom Service,... One question: Has Naveen ever won a game? 😉
What small box game are you most excited about?

I’m looking forward to Duffers by TGG Games. A golf deck builder game!

@@josyuen4207 when’s it release?
I'm obsessed with this game right now! Extra proud for my fellow portuguese Luis Costa and Rôla for crafting this wonderful game.
Isn’t it so fun?! It’s hard to be efficient! We also love that it was made by Portuguese designers!

So many games come and go it's crazy! Glad we could help :)
I am so excited I was waiting for yall to playthrough and review this.. love filler friday.. I am waiting for my Hats game.
Oh nice! That’s exciting! Glad you enjoy this series

Haha yes we totally understand that struggle of finding the proper balance! Glad you were able to pick it up
Great video as always! Even more fun for me, a Brazilian currently living in Angola. :)

Great job, thanks :)
Thank you for a wonderful game!
Great game Luis

So glad it made it to you! Hopefully one day we can see you at a con! :)
Great play-through! It’s amazing how much of a game can be played with simple components.
Thank you!

Lol, it definitely takes a few games to see the potential efficiencies in this one. Our first game we were both so so terrible!! haha

That's a great idea! We underestimated the footprint we ended up needing. lol
