Wouldn’t have got to that position I don’t think. I genuinely think PC had the better start and if the title required that heat as a win he’d have had the lead in to that first corner and held on.
Brilliant speedway rider Peter collins legend 😮
What a rider he was, great memories watching him
I loved going speedway with my dad and brother. Hackney speedway every Friday night...still love it
me too every friday ..got just one programme as souvenir
Simmo was my favourite rider at Poole 75-81 and Peter Collins. Great days. Wonderful days. Belle Vue always highlight of the year. Wow!
Mine too!
did what he needed to do... saw him at wimbledon mid 70's in his prime... great memories me an me brother getting showered in shale...
Peter Collins the reason why I got the speedway bug aged 7 in 1976 ♣️🏁
Simply the best
I was a regular at Belle Vue and saw PC so many times, he was my hero !! I used to love his races with Ole and Phil Crump...those were the days...
Phil Crump a ex Crewe King. And Ole Olsen used to test he bikes at Crewe too.👍👍👍

Peter Collins started his speedway at Crewe.Home of the KINGS.
No he didn't it was Rochdale Hornets then Belle Vue.

@@martynhepworthArchiveSpeedway He first rode a speedway bike at Crewe with the Morton boys. I in the second half of meeting.
@@simonbradshaw3993 No Crewe second half read his life story
And his classic race against michenek at Bellevue cup final.
Best race i have ever seen . Aces fan since 1963 . 16 passes in 4 laps doesn't get any better . So sad there were no cameras there to record it
@@MrManc55 👍
I am pretty sure if Peter had needed to pass Ivan he would have taken him apart just like he took all his other opponents apart that day...
Do anyone think ivan would have kept peter at bay if the title was on the line?
Wouldn’t have got to that position I don’t think. I genuinely think PC had the better start and if the title required that heat as a win he’d have had the lead in to that first corner and held on.
@@TheRiderGuider i honestly dont think pc would have outgated ivan
@@geoffhodgson1853 He didn't need to outgate him ffs ! He could of passed him at any given moment
If needed Peter could have beaten anyone that day.
Should have been a minimum 2 world titles
'75 Wembley, '76 Katowice, '77 Sweden....that's how it should have been but for circumstances.
Deserved it so much should have been more but for the broken leg just before the Final
The good old days eh Martyn.Seems like years ago haha lol
