I got a 2014 CB1100 just weeks ago, owned by someone who almost never rode it (only 4,800 miles), and have really enjoyed putting another thousand miles of mostly highway riding on it. Very smooth from the first tick, it's definitely more refined than the 2002 Suzuki Bandit 1200 I've put 54,000 miles on since new, and only a bit less awesome on the highway. I would recommend either highly.

You can't forget about the pure *_LOOK_* of the beast. The air-cooled engine is so much more impressive than the water-cooled versions today. You don't mind hiding most new bikes under a fairing, but with the Honda here, you want everyone (yourself included) to see the powerplant. Mighty purty!

I currently ride an Alpine Pearl White Coloured 2008 Honda VTX 1300R Power Cruiser Motorcycle that I totally enjoy. If it was financially possible I would have a Honda CB1100A as my 2nd motorcycle.

Makes me miss and think of my 1973 CB750 four I had when I was 18 back in 1982 .That was a great bike .

I would love to have the opportunity to take one of these Honda CB1100A's for a test ride if they're available for the experience on future Honda Demo Ride Events.

The CB1100A is sweet smooth. It was in fact even more smooth, but the designers engineered in a bit of roughage so the engine can be felt.

I have the bike and it is perfect. If you want it louder, do as i did and add a GPR slip on. Sumbitch is loud without be too loud and the bike feels as though it has more power.

Good review, super nice bike. I saw a used one in the showroom a few years back and bought it, it only had 600km on it. Now it has 3100. Dual exhaust would be nicer though and just a tad louder. I may make those mods some day but I like stock stuff.

that's one thing I can say about the Japanese their engineering is superior to all other motorcycle manufacturers I can't think of one motorcycle manufacturer that can compete with the Japanese they are on top of their game

The Harley Davidson sportster is close. I have a 14 cb1100 s and i really like this bike. I had a 12 Harley Davidson 48 and a 12 Harley Davidson custom, i also had a 14.5 Harley Davidson 1200t so i can say they are really good bikes... i bought my cb1100 because of my love of my first street bike, a 1982 cb750 nighthawk. This bike is awesome. But i wouldn't hesitate to buy a new sportster ether. Just saying

@@northrider8628 Harley Evolution motor is one of the simplest and most reliable of all time. I absolutely love my 05 XL1200C. Triumphs are nice too!

@@teslaedison6236 yep I 100% agree with that. Has nothing to do with resale value... I have no intention of parting with my Harley Davidson bikes, yes I have more than one... Japanese bikes too. Same goes there, but the Harley Davidson's didn't hold their value any better 🤔

I’d love to ride one, unfortunately our local Honda dealers don’t carry anything but Rebel 300 & sometimes a 500 can be found. They stick to selling ATV machines 😑, guess that’s where the bucks are, 👀

Same, but also 50cc metros and $700 lawnmowers.

Absolutely gorgeous motorcycle, however, if you check CB 1100 owners forums online this motorcycle has serious premature rusting problems of metal components including cooling fins on the engine! (one owner reported surface rust appearing on the fins in just six weeks of riding)

    • @TheKevphil

That's weird. This engine has been around a while, unless it's always had this issue.

Don't get the EFI ABS version one day you'll need to replace those computers..

How about that most ugly looking tail light? It's definitely the first thing I would change.

Unfortunately, it is a fundamental part of the retro look.

I should like this bike, but I don't. Good review, though, so thumbs up.
