Well, since you asked,, this is what Sweet Dreams are made of. Anyway Annie Lenox is a legend. She's simply amazing. And BTW this is how pop in the '80s sounded. Love your reaction.
Hi Millie, I'm not surprised that you haven't heard of them, they were very big during the '80s both Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart have had solo careers since leaving the band, songs by them which I recommend are: "Love is a Stranger", "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)", "There Must be an Angel (Playing With My Heart)", "Who's That Girl?", "Would I Lie to You?", "When Tomorrow Comes", "Thorn in My Side", You Have Placed a Chill in My Heart", "It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)", "Sex Crime (1984)", "The Miracle of Love", "Sisters Are Doin' it for Themselves", "Angel". There are many more but these are good ones to continue with.
@@filton12 I didn't include Annie's solo stuff as I thought that it would be better if, Millie becomes familiar with the group first. I love "Why" too.
If you really want to be floored by the Eurythmics, look at there live 1984 Grammy Awards performance of one of there other hit songs, “Sweet Dreams”. I bet your jaw will hit the floor.
I had the privilege of working with Annie for a week in a studio. Not only is she an amazing vocalist and musician but a truly beautiful human being. Very funny and down to earth. Her soft lilting Scottish accent put everyone at ease. ✌️❤️🇬🇧
I really think you should award yourself and listen to the studio/original video version too. It is a masterpiece of cerebral 1980s synthpop with one of the best and most iconic synth-basslines ever composed under the sampled string tracks played on the legendary (and insanely expensive) Fairlight CMI (Computer Musical Instrument). It is a vibe even today.

Eurythmics are the duo of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart. They recorded most of their between 1981 and 1989. They are known for their artistic, attention-getting songs, and their creative music videos, which were some of the best made during the 1980s. I’m an old Eurythmics fan. The songs that I like are often the ones that don’t quite make it to the big charts. A couple of examples are “Love is a Stranger” from the Sweet Dreams Album and “You have placed a Chill in my Heart” from the Savage Album. I also want to mention “Pavement Cracks” from Annie Lennox’s “Bare” Album and “Money Can’t Buy It” from her “Diva” Album.
Sweet Dreams are Made of This (Giant hit) ...Would I lie to you / Missionary Man / Why (See her live solo with her playing piano / Miracle of Love I could go on and on ...
Lots of great Eurythmics songs, and Annie's voice is gold. You should listen to her solo live performance of the song Why, in 2000 at the Clive Davis tribute.
Guitarist is Dave Stewart. He plays a number of instruments including Sitar. He was first introduced to America in Tom Petty's video Don't Come Around Here No More. Annie Lennox has one of the most outstanding voices over the last 4o+ years.
Annie Lennox is one of the best singers in the UK, period. Her and Dave Stewart (the guitarist you see here) formed the Eurythmics in the early 1980s and had a string of hits before going on to very successful solo careers. You literally cannot go wrong with anything with Annie's name on it. My personal favorites are "Walking On Broken Glass", "No More I Love Yous" and "Cold". Walking On Broken Glass also has a WILD video with Hugh Laurie and John Malkovitch in it. Oh and I sympathise with the clicky bone Millie: I've had a clicky elbow ever since me and a motorbike landed on top of it nearly 30 years ago...❤
I was at a 2004 concert where Annie opened for Sting. After she performed, it was such a let down when Sting came on stage that I left. She really should have been the headliner that night.
