The recognition of this movie is just scary. Films represent society. Meaning millions of our generation went through the same as Sophie. That's just sad, man. You need to have an absent parent to truly get this movie.

I liked it but didn’t love it until the last dance scene came on and I was stunned and devastated. That alone brought the movie up to masterpiece.

It was recommended to me. I watched it over a week ago. I'm still thinking about it. It was like being inside someone's memory.

I think the rave scene represents Sophie's gradual loss of memory of her father, despite her attempts to preserve his memory by watching video footage of him.

I think it’s her trying to save him. The rave represents depression. It’s a metaphor of her crossing through time in an attempt to save him but ultimately failing.

I think it more likely represents his suicide. The fact that he walks into a dark room that seems to have the flashing lights as the last shot of the film kinda just solidifies it for me.
The race scene would be her want to save him, but of course being unable to

A modern classic indeed. The most powerful film I've seen in years.
