Haters gone hate! I have enjoyed each one of your videos and the love that has been shown to you has not detracted from all of the hard work that YOU have put in hiking!
God bless the trail angels!!! I always learn something about hiking the AT from watching your videos.I appreciated your " moment" of emotion on the trail. How great of you to share that experience.
Really struck by how at peace you are at this point in the trek. Especially noticed when you solo camped before Hanover, you seem equally at peace alone or in a group. Really “neat” 😁😁. Thanks for the great videos
Starting around the 6:40 minute mark, it looks like Merica is walking on a totally different path. He's up & down turning corners, whereas Frozen looks to be on the same level path. Expert cameraman! 🎥
Most of the trail vloggers I have followed this year and in previous years, got their channel up and running just prior to their hike. You are the first hiker I have followed who had an established channel. To me it seems that has presented some Unique challenges that others aren’t facing. You are handing those with an admirable amount of grace. Thanks for your work in getting these videos out!
I'd have to agree with what the other subscriber said about your hike not being like most his when it comes to the trail angel experience. Of all the AT hikers I've watched on TH-cam over the past 6 or 7 years, you have had the most "engagement" that I have ever seen from your subscribers. It's not that there is anything wrong with that, but in comparison to others, say for example Wanderlust, Darwin Onthetrail and Red Beard, there is no arguing that you have been provided with many more opportunities for Cheery Cokes, food, rides and overnight warm bed stays than the average AT hiker. That being said, hers's wishing you all the best on finishing your hike on July 3rd and hopefully, with your entire tramily.
Agreed. But we also left a lot earlier in the year. I never asked for anything. These people just wanted to come out and see me. And I wanted to meet people along the way to make up for my introvertedness
Frozen, I know the feeling you experienced. I felt it on a trail in the Swiss Alps as I hiked along a very steep cliffside, rounded a bend and came upon a scenic vista that no explanation, no video or a professionally taken photo shot could justify its beauty. All I could do was stop and catch my breath. I did have tears roll down my cheeks as I stood in awe. It was truly a religious moment and I'm not a church goer. However, I thanked God for what I was seeing before me and breathing air that seemed to be different. I've hiked in the Rockies, the Continental Divide and in the Sierras since then, enjoyed the beauty but have never had that sensational experience I had in Switzerland. Dude, your hike is nearing its end and I'm very happy for you. However, there is a period of remorse that you may go through after the hike.
Hopefully Togs bounces back quickly. No surprise everyone is feeling a little beat up at this point but you seem to have a strong crew. I have no doubt everyone will go as far as they want to. Your remarks about the hammock in the rain are some of the reasons I prefer them over a tent. Keep pushing just be mindful of what your body tells you. Awesome journey hike on.
Trail angels seem to make one of the best parts of a thru hike. The gift is so overwhelming, and kindness given to the hikers is restoring my faith in humanity. Would be humbling to feel so blessed.
When you get a chance, you should do two more hikes. The Northville-placid trail, and the Cranberry Lake 50. Both in the Adirondack Mountains of NY. Love your videos!
Welcome to NH! I have head that the Long Trail is hard, and the Southern part is the easy third, and the Northern part is the hardest of all long distance trails. You will have to come back and try it! I wish you and yours success on the rest of your hike. You are beaten up, but you can't make an omelette without beating a few eggs! (You need more food in your videos!)
thank you for the Videos. i am reliving my thruhike everytime i watch you.one downside from knowing where the rstaurants and Hotels are is. you allways end up carrying to much Food and you need lot more Money then we did.i needed 2000$ back in 2003,my hiking Partner used resupply boxes from home every 150 miles and 800 $.
I noticed that you said you’ve been rolling your ankle a lot lately. I wanted to offer some friendly advice based on an experience I’ve had recently. I have been running in super cushiony shoes that led to instability in my ankles and knees. I ended up tearing my meniscus in my right knee. My doctor recommended stability shoes with extra support and less cushion to make my alignment more stable. So maybe the new shoes you have are too cushiony for all of the miles that you’re putting in? I’m not a medical professional - just passing on advice from my surgeon and physical therapist so take this for whatever it’s worth. I just don’t want to see you injured! Love the videos; my husband and I always look forward to them. We can’t wait to see you summit Katahdin!
I have gotten a little tired of the early through hikers trashing the southern Long Trail. You have reached Vermont at exactly the wrong time. We are only a month out from snow on those trails and they take time to dry out, we also had a rainy spring. The VOLUNTEER trail maintainers are just getting out to do annual maintenance. Most of the higher elevation area are actually closed from mid April until Memorial Day. No views - I could list you more than a dozen places! Plus three beautiful backcountry ponds. Black flies - Welcome to June in Vermont! Good luck with the rest of your Hike! "WIDG" NH 48 4K LT '03 GMC Trails and Shelters Volunteer
i'd suggest anyone doing the AT etc on a tiny budget who needs trail magic / post on youtube... even if you only have 1K subs, a lot of them will want to meet you and help out if possible/// obviously your hike is a little different from other people's hikes/ it is special for fans to be able to run into you on such a big hike. Having followed so many hikers on youtube i will say this is a little bit different because of the fans but mainly because of how well prepared you are in terms of gear, physically, and financially. It is not surprising some other hikers can't fully relate to your experience but it sure is awesome for us fans
Awesome vid once again. Vermont can be a bruiser of a hike! Hope your friend toggs gets better! I've been sick for days too it sucks. Hopefully its not limes though. A few members of my family have it. The ticks are bad here in upstate NY aswell as Vermont. Good luck man almost there!! Look forward to vid 53..Hike on!!
Hey Frozen. It would be hard not to get emotional about this journey you're on. You work so hard, the highs are high and the lows are low. Eventually you start thinking about it and realize a dream that you've thought about for a long time. How can you not get emotional? We're all thankful that you've taken us along. We are all loving the videos and I honestly look forward to them. I'll be sad when you reach Katadin. Stay safe. "Kleen dry cleaners." What would be more odd is if it were "Dirty's dry cleaners." Merica was right...what was funny was you're reaction to it - that was funny!
I remember how excited you were counting down days until you stepped onto the trail. Now it's a countdown until you get off. Probably a different kind of excitement now. Or is it dread? Disbelief? Relief? Anyway, enjoy these last miles. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels!
Been a subscriber for years, Frozen. Thanks so much for bringing me along. Have to just tell you that I think it is plain to see that you need a little alone time. It helps restore you.
I hope Togs is ok now. I got Lyme in 2017 and my son got it this year. A round of strong antibiotics cleared it up for both of us, I hope the same is true for her!

I know you said something was wrong with your comments so Ill ask again if you missed it. I was hoping to know what your hopes and dreams are for the next chapter of your life after the AT. What is the direction of the channel and what are your furture goals and dreams. Proud of you bud!! It was awesome to be able to hike with you and help you train for the AT.
CONGRATS ON NEW HAMPSHIRE ! Thanks for addressing the subscriber/trail magic aspect. It was something that I had been wondering about, but I assumed that it was because you had put "the work" in for your channel. As someone who is doing the AT next year as a flipflopper, I assumed my experience would be different, but still very positive. Sorry to hear about Toggs - I hope that it isn't Lyme - Lyme is the reason that I'm hiking in very breathable pants - I have had too many friends with deliberating Lyme. On another note, just got back from 1/2 of the Laurel Highlands Trail (did 40 miles over Memorial Day, had to cut it short after tornadoes hitting Johnstown), did an 18 mile day and thought of you! I recognized a lot of places from your videos.
Very well made AT thru hike movies! Have watched your movies since day one, really appreciate your honesty! To bad I’m on the other side of the atlantic, so can’t bring you a beer on trail :) Keep on hiking, you will reach your goal!
Hello my hiking friend, happy Sunday to you and your fellow hikers. Thank you for sharing your timely update. Watch out for the moose crossings. The very best to you out there on the trail. 🤗
you dear man will figure out what that was. be open to the revelation when it happens and don't try to explain it away. You are a special person thank you for putting yourself out there for us and the rest of the world.
Goodness, sure hope that Toggs will get better quickly, she's had somewhat of a rough go. She's strong and has a great attitude tho. Best wishes to all of yous as you finish this last difficult trail's end. We're ALL behind you. BTW does Toggs have a channel?
Love all of these videos. Been following/with you since the beginning and cheering you on. You mentioned in this video books written about the AT trail mentioning your moment of tranquility in the last video. Can you recommend a good book on the AT and someones experience with it? Thanks, goodluck here from Canada.
Awesome! The Whites are incredible. Friend of mine and I hiked a few weeks down there last summer. Unforgettable views! We also saw a moose coming up Garfield ridge
Awesome job man, really enjoying the content! I've found your hammock videos the most informative on TH-cam. Can you show me how you carry your camera gear and also protect it at night. Also the charging of the batteries. I'm doing a small 4 day trip in NH and need to charge multiple cameras and keep them dry.
You are not off your rocker for having your zen experience in the woods. You very lucky to have had that experience. Anyone who thinks you are, are narrow and short sighted. I envy your experience and look forward to having my own. Hike on.
Sweet pack from LiteAF... understand that everyone is a little beaten up by the journey at this point...hoping that all of you can persevere through to the end. Finish strong. Finish together!
I'm so glad what you experienced in that magic moment was bliss. :) New Hampshire! I can't believe this is all going to be over soon. We'll have to go back to the beginning and watch the whole journey again. Congrats on the nice new pack. Really hope Togs and Merica are doing better now and continuing to Katahdin with you. Hope your rolled ankle gets better as well. (Someone must have mentioned how hard it was to hear Merica on video. Heard him loud and clear this time.)
Hahaha enjoy the food and we really enjoy it in your words this your adventure keep staying positive and the supporters have been outstanding glad you have met exciting people
How do you plan to reintroduce yourself back into “ normal” life again? Are you going to take more time to get back into life off trail and are you nervous about post trail blues?
Been following you through this trip. So awesome seeing you transform into a whole new person from day 1 till now. Do you have anything that you wish you would have brought that you didn't? How about something you wished you left behind?
Welcome to the home of Vermont the state that she'll kick your butt up hills and down hills but afterwards give you such a beauty to behold within days and nights of the sun rising and setting And the beautiful Crystal clear nights as you can see the milky way in all of its Glory
Hugs to Togs! 🤗 Hope you get better and back on trail soon! Well, that was a nice commentary on trail magic! At least you didn't slam the person for making an honest comment. Well, hopefully, there will be enough trail magic to so around for the SOBOs! They get no love...not even the decent number of white blazes facing south!!! Happy trails to you and the tramily! ATStrong 🌺
I ran into a mother moose and baby hiking up to Katahdin very similar situation . I had my head down and thought man those are the nosiest hikers ever. Looked up and saw them heading down the trail toward me. Did the same thing stepped off the trail hid behind a tree and let them pass me. Unbelievable!
I figure people really love seeing others push for a goal that you would if you could ... Or love the AT. You're videos paint a great picture. Enamored by your great yet realistic attitude. It's not like watching Garfield or Odie ... Just a man reaching for his dream. That's plain cool // David the Psalmist once said paraphrased that creation points to God. Part of why I love short hikes.
My guess is that service is limited. I don't know how many drivers would want to wait at a trailhead, let alone hike in the woods. There's a lot of rural territory in NH and ME.
The Skinny Pancake in Hanover. Welcome to NH. Wish I had a real time update I could have met up in Hanover. Excited to see your reaction in the Whites!
I've been loving all your videos and especially your positive tilt on the trail and the fact that the whole experience becomes about the folks you meet along the way. It took me 10 years to complete the AT as a section hiker, 2 weeks at a time and I became hooked I've since done the LT, which I would recommend you doing immediately following the AT starting at the LT Inn, the PCT up to the Sierras, stopped due to family illness. I've completed half of the AT a second time and the Arizona Trail last year. This year I will be doing the Colorado Trail and hope to convey how much fun and enjoyment I get from hiking as you! Please subscribe to my channel as any more I raise will go to the prevention of Alzheimers. Enjoy the rest of your hike especially the challenges of the Whites.\, Presidentials, and southern Maine. Everything will prepare you for the climb up Katahdin! Keep having fun.....
Okay I've been watching you for a bit. You are a introvert trying to put together a name in outdoor community. I think its admirable. I would never want to see you or a clone of yours in a future life. Your a quirkier goat then most. I think when your old and broken you will take that silver spoon out your bumb. Remember you did hike. And like your self from a far like I do. Be honest... your getting payed to live your dream in a year or two. I'm a little sourpuss about that. Keep rocking in the free world. DOC
Thank you for sharing your journey with us! I accidentally discovered you on you tube a few months before you started the AT and was excited to hear you were going to hike it! Anxiously await your videos! Can't wait until you reach Katahdin!
Your videos have more soul and your internal thoughts and great any other at video I’ve seen maybe after you get back home we. Can talk to on phone I wii be 72 years old when I try to make my attempts have some other physical issues but I can deal with them but I just want to know even if I have this in the internal Strank‘s even though I’ve had both knees replaced with in the last year if you think I could make it so just like your insight if you’d be willing to give it to me I followed you for a long time in between you and Shug I have learned a lot I have decided to go with the Hamic. Haven’t even tried to set it up yet because where I live I have no trees but I’ll find some in the woods someplace but I just have some technical questions and then some questions about my health condition everything else and what you think I know you’re not a doctor so I don’t want you to put any pressure on that but from what I get from you if you just want to put up with the BS every day you get to enjoy the fun you get your jet energy going in you get to hike some more feel depressed and get happy when you meet up with people so the adventuring it would be totally awesome I totall believe in the seals motto. That the only easy day was yesterda
Issues in my hat last. Year I had two total knee replacements one eye surgery etc I would appreciate any feedback thoughts or insights you might have god bless and stay safe
Frozen not sure how the comment was made, but I have thought about that before, where I feel some kind of "disadvantage" and it might seem like jealousy or envy when I see successful youtubers like you Darwin etc., how much help/support you guys get. The feeling comes because if I attempt something like a thru hike it would be even more difficult for me since I will not have people picking up, cooking for me, taking me to their houses etc. On the other hand I am happy for you guys and support your journey and if you were close to me I would do the same to help you out because I believe in you and you are giving a lot to us so you deserve/earn those perks/blessings. At least for me is nothing personal against you guys because I want that for you, again is more about me not being lucky enough to have that help/support that could make my life easier out there. Continue enjoying your "vacation" and glad this has been bigger for you than anticipated.
I'm the one who commented last episode, frozen either misrepresented on video or there was a loss in the message. I started to follow him because he was a good source of information that I could use for my eventual trip. I recall in early episodes that he stated that any subscribers wishing to provide trail magic and meet up to contact him through quicker means. By no suggestion was I referring to or bashing "trail angels" who do it out of the goodness of their heart for anonymous hikers. I fail to see the jealousy that others have referred to, because that would not be my kind of hike. If anything I feel that he had changed from a "purist" or "unsupported" hiker to a "supported "hiker. That's why I stated that he was starting to lose my interest, watching him meet up with subscribers for free food and beer yielded no educational benefit to me. I'm not knocking the way he's doing his hike, I'm knocking him not owning the kind of hike that he's doing, giving subscribers 30 seconds of airtime for beer/food and promoting "Outdoor Adventure" t-shirts, not my kind of hike. At no time did I wish him Ill-will or failure, I wish him only success. I also really came to like "Merica", seems like a good family guy.
Haters gone hate! I have enjoyed each one of your videos and the love that has been shown to you has not detracted from all of the hard work that YOU have put in hiking!

Keep moving
I have a feeling he'll be jumping straight into PCT preparation when this finishes!
Nah I have family plans first. And I must save up again. These little quitting the job things aren't cheap.
Not nervous at this point and slowly.
Almost there man! Keep going! You WILL do it!
Been following you through this trip. So awesome seeing you transform into a whole new person from day 1 till now. Do you have anything that you wish you would have brought that you didn't? How about something you wished you left behind?
I would have bought an underquilt protector for the wind. And researched rain gloves more. Everything else was spot on and I wouldn't change a thing.
Great video Frozen- enjoy the trail magic. I feel that you had a true spiritual experience 😊
Called a wood frog
Thanks
I was so excited to see your Vermont videos since im headed out to do the long trail in 4 days. Now im just wondering if I chose a bad trail 👀
Welcome to the home of Vermont the state that she'll kick your butt up hills and down hills but afterwards give you such a beauty to behold within days and nights of the sun rising and setting
And the beautiful Crystal clear nights as you can see the milky way in all of its Glory
Finally - My home state! Welcome!!!
I have the same setup with the hip sack wonder if I should be worried? Hope Toggs gets better!
Peter
Frozen, would you still recommend the hammock for hiking the AT?
Yes!
Love camping by Streams , nice video
Hey Frozen,
Has Murica had problems with his pack getting water into it? I assumed it would be waterproof
Only when it rains all day it wets.
You are on the home stretch. Hike ON Strong
what's tougher, Northern Vermont or the Black Forest Trail?
Vermont
I am going to do a trail and to film it. Can you tell what camera do you use? Has night vision?
Pixel 3
REI carries Alpine Start.
How’s Murcia feeling that night?
Ya'll are hard core. The Hard Corp. Slap some strips of KT tape on that ankle. I rolled mine a few times, now it's shot.
Does Uber Eats deliver on the AT?
My guess is that service is limited. I don't know how many drivers would want to wait at a trailhead, let alone hike in the woods.
There's a lot of rural territory in NH and ME.
Frozen, I've been meaning to compliment your new pronunciation -- Appa-LATCH-un. That's how the inhabitants pronounce it! (Well, most of them.)
I try and mix it up both ways are said plenty enough. No matter how I say it. Someone will always comment telling me I am wrong lol
Sweet video! Do you smoke weed on trail?
Not a big weed guy.
The Skinny Pancake in Hanover. Welcome to NH. Wish I had a real time update I could have met up in Hanover. Excited to see your reaction in the Whites!
Follow him on Instagram. Much closer to real time.
Kleen in their last name. Jesus.
You have got to be extra careful with your ankle
Try not to overdo it
There is a lot of what we call muds in the whites It stands for meaningless ups and downs God bless
We call em puds. Pointless up and downs.
Outdoor Adventures they are the same in any name you choose. Yourvidios are the most
Your videos have more soul and your internal thoughts and great any other at video I’ve seen maybe after you get back home we.
👍
Yes and I meant no offense to you but wanted to address your comment because I'm sure others might feel like that as well.
Thank you for replying , says a lot about your character, Kudos to you
