This is the performance that got me into Anthrax. A year after this, I got into my first moshpit when they played this at Sonisphere UK 2011. A gig I'll never forget.
I was really glad to see Anthrax included in the Big 4. I feel sometimes they are overlooked and underappreciated for how good and influential they are. I mean come on, they rock!!!!
And they still got it, compare him to Dave mustaine a vocals ! Anthrax shit on all the other bands they still have the energy on stage and are actually a band and all appreciate eachother and enjoy it !
I went & seen The Big 4 in Columbus, Ohio decade ago & it was absolutely unbelievable one of the best concerts I ever been too & well worth the money .
Frank Bello: totally underrated. Him and David Ellfeson do seminars at NAMM, and donate to charities to teach kids music. Maybe a lot of people don't know this.
most favourite punk metal intros of all time. That drum fill just seems to grab the fuckn planks of the stage. I would go see them live just for this song intro!
Damn right. Real energy and commitment to their performance. Megadeth and Metallica, as objectively good as they were, seemed rote and by-the-numbers in comparison (and Slayer just do their thing - they don't give a f**k). Anthrax still had to work the crowd to win them over and, even as openers, they really did. Tight, well rehearsed and sounding great: the backing vocals really set them apart from the other 3.
@@Johnny6666 I was extremely disappointed with Slayer. I give Megadeth a slight pass though as Dave was dealing with throat issues at the time and they weren't even sure he'd be able to play at all.
@@bobbychilds3080 Yeah, Mustaine's vocals were dubbed on the official release. The original clips tell the real story (which is just the reality of his voice this past decade). Perhaps Anthrax are the lesser recording stars of the 4, but they really bring total energy to their shows and it really feels of-the-moment (not just rehearsed grandstanding and posing).
This happend to me lmao I was at a great festival in Antwerp Belgium with my friend, my math teacher and my math teachers girlfriend And this amazing german thrash band Dust Bolt was playing I came from the "chill zone" and I wanted to get to the Marquee where they were selling drinks my math teacher and his girlfriend just walked past this big moshpit with the craziest shirtless guys my friend followed and then I got after my friend, and ofcourse I got caught in that crazy german thrash metal MOSH! I got pushed hard and some random (cute) girl grabbed my arm so I wouldnt fall I tried to walk past again and then I fell to the ground I got back up and went to the other side but let me tell ya German thrash bands are killer That was one of the biggest pits at that festival
TRUE STORY: I was at the Slayer 🤟🤪🤟concert last weekend in Sacramento CA and as I was watching Anthrax getting ready to start- standing there minding my own business, this song “Caught in a MOSH” suddenly begins and literally I got caught up in a “Mosh” pit!!! True story it really does happen people!!! So as this mosh pit is forming around me and of course with my luck I’m dead in the center of this chaotic, Violent and Physical dance of pain!!! What do I think to myself???? I say “FUCKIT!!!” I decided to join in and after getting knocked down a few times, knocking other dudes down and after tribally moshing in circles a few times I realized that it takes a lot of fucking cardio to “Mosh”, so me being chunky and not a very fit Dude and so way out of breath, I decided to make a beeline out of that pit and continued to head bang all the way through SLAYER!!!! 🔥🤟😆🤟🔥
F*cking one of my favorite songs off Among the living, would love to see Anthrax next time they come to MN, seen Megadeth twice they put on a f*cking bad ass show, and seen f*cking Slayer, f*cking bad ass; so seeing Anthrax and Metallica are on my bucket list😜🎸😎💀🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Learn to give respect! That others give to you!! And who said metal could never teach you anything helpful in life, which Jay Z song says something like that?!
Anthrax - Nobody is asking you to live your life this way. Christ is coming to you with grace through faith only not of works lest any man boast. There is no need to get hostile.
Anyone know the attendance at this show? Just about all venues outside the USA seem to be well into six figures in attendance. I saw Slayer Motorhead and overkill at Lehigh u in 88 on freaking Halloween. It was held in a damn gym that could be in any high school. Less than 10k attendees. Even had the roll up side goals. Don't get me wrong. The show was epic. Just a little perplexed as to the lack of fan support here in the states. And btw while I'm rambling on and on , i would much, much rather see concerts in the smaller venues. Just my 2 cents......
They need a big ten( Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer) Exodus, Testament, Death Angel, Dark Angel, Sacred Reich, Flotsam n Jetsam, but since Slayer probably wouldn’t be up for it then Sepultura. That’s just fantasy...... but it’s a big universe. Who knows
Good thing there was no Metallica on that show. Oh, wait, was there? Nah, couldn've been them, prolly some substitute country rock band did a stand in as Metallica.))

Joey Belladonna still sounds amazing!!! At like what 50??? Still hitting them high notes. This dude, this band haven’t lost a step!
He sounds totally different now.
I’ll admit his voice is a lot lower and less technically impressive, but for someone his age he still sounds great
@@dr.frenchtoast7620 I think he's in his 60 now, and he still sounds badass!

Who else would it be? Or could it be?
A.R. T. ll I completely agree with the “BIG 4” but other contenders in my honest opinion are Exodus, Testament and overkill! 🤘🤘🤘
Metal forever
@@ARTll-zy1cp exodus
@@ikon4255 exodus is cool, but nowhere near as successful as anthrax, hence why they are part of the big 4
Very underrated compared to the other big 4 bands. Absolutely love fistful of metal, spreading the disease, and among the living.

I saw em play medusa in 87. It was the best
they're still the best
And they still got it, compare him to Dave mustaine a vocals ! Anthrax shit on all the other bands they still have the energy on stage and are actually a band and all appreciate eachother and enjoy it !
@Highest_earth23 I just disagree tbh live they are incredible so are slayer and Metallica but megadeth not just can't do it
I love Frank's stage presence
Me too! He likes to jump around in literally every show since the 80s! That's what makes this band awesome, their ENERGY!
What the fucking hell is that bass, it's perfect *-*
Looks like Fender Aerodyne Jazz, but Frank has it`s signature from ESP as well so who can tell? :)
He had a Fender signature around those days. It is not currently on production but an Aerodyne bass should do the trick.
Frankie is a beast! very underrated also.
In 88 when I was 12 I got introduced to great music with this song
I was 16

IMO He is better than Cliff Burton

YES, He's severely underrated! He inspired me to play bass with my fingers. He's EVERYTHING and HE'S MINE!! Frankie has always been a cutie to me.

Well, they were all probably there for Metallica.
I remember replaying this DVD many many times back then
This performance left no doubt why they are one of the big 4
The drummer is insane! 2:00 mark is where shit gets real!
To be exact, it 2:20 til 2:24 I wish that part lasted longer
Charlie is one of the best drummers in metal scene
Charlie Benate easily one of the best drummers ever... Frank Bello on bass
