Davis Cup by BNP Paribas is the largest annual international team competition in world sport. This prestigious event, which is one of the cornerstones of the tennis calendar, gives players the chance to represent their country in an otherwise individual sport.
Founded by Dwight Davis in 1900, Davis Cup began as a challenge match between USA and British Isles, which was held at the Longwood Cricket Club in Boston.
Davis himself played in the inaugural Davis Cup tie, steering his country to the first of many title victories. USA has won the Davis Cup 32 times - more than any other nation.

I don't think so. Tennis after all is an individual sports. Grand Slam means the most for any player.
The next important is Olympics, I suppose.
nonono, olympics isn't important for tennis players at all because they don't get ranking points. A lot of big tennis players never go to olympics because of that... It's a symbolic event but for a lot of tennis players... It's nowhere near as important as a grandslam or even a normal atp title

kei has amazing shot selection and with his ground strokes it makes him extremely dangerous
+Dat_Simba_Crazy Very true. He's prone to injuries, really the biggest hindrance for this talented Quicksilver in his quest for a slam.
+Karma Dondup He's a talented guy, for sure, but still has many things to work on in order to win a GS. Injury is one of those. I hope he will improve his 2nd serve too, or else he will always have a hard time with Andy and Nole.

Love Nishikori's game as well. He plays a heroic and high-octane game. Super dramatic winners and able to thread the needle with laser-like passing shots, and a badass leaping backhand like Marcelo Rios.
Nishikori is the only one of his generation (Raonic, Dimitrov, Janowicz) to really make an impact on the Slams. Only one to beat everyone in the Big Four. His only flaw is that he can't back up big wins in the next round, so he needs to build up his endurance.
Fans are very passionate for their country and who that player represents. Davis cup matches are very intense and loud.

pretty much, ballboys give towels to players every 2 points or so.. In long matches that can be over 400x times. Players need to concentrate and can't always look into the ballboys eyes, they need to focus on the game and the ballboys understand that
