@@pretzelking4618 Just level up his Authority to unlock Battalion Vantage and Battalion Wrath. Have him take some hits to drop his battalion down to 1/3rd (which activates B.Vant/Wrath) and never refill it. From there just slap a Wo Dao+ in his hand (and the Chalice of Beginnings if you have the DLC) and presto: 100% Crit Dimitri on the Enemy's Phase that attacks first regardless of the range he's being attacked from.
It's absolutely hilarious to have someone with Warp just yeet him right into the middle of a swarm of enemies then watch them all get slaughtered as they try to attack him.

I don't remember struggling with that part of the map in Hard mode, but the really difficult part was the top left corner...

Oml I just realized that it's a euphemism for "see you in hell" and I'm spiraling-
What I found so great with the Blue Lions campaign is that Dimitri is OP story wise and gameplay wise, and that's maybe the first time where a videogame tells me "this guy is a beast" and I actually agree with it. I mean, during my playthrough, there were 2 groups : Dimitri, and the rest of the characters, and I never doubted that Dimitri would destroy everything in front of him, he was actually much more efficient than the group with every other characters
What made this section in part 2 so amazing on top of that is you cant do any activities with Dimitri. No lecture training, cant give him gifts, etc. so you feel like Dimitri is gonna lose it at some point, maybe even betray you, or that you’ll never get that opportunity to train him again. The narrative and the gameplay worked hand in hand at that point

To be fair it's not that hard to make any character into an unstoppable badass in this game with the right class path. I had a playthrough where Caspar was nigh untouchable while one-shotting damn near everything. Put that bugger on a Wyvern and he was a flying force of destruction.

Okay so. After finishing blue lions, this is officially: The theme of Dimitri's crazy crits, Claude's stupidly good avoid, Edelgard's amazing durability and Seteth's versatility.
I love how Dimitri and Byleth and just clear the map alone, but all the others come back and help anyway. It’s so great seeing all my students come back!

My Pre-Timeskip BL playthrough: What's a crit?
My Post-Timeskip BL playthrough: Pfft, I need Killer weapons for higher crit chances? What a chump!
In my most recent playthrough of Blue Lions Dimitri regularly averaged about 55-60% crit with his normal lances and he had an insane 90% crit with a Killer Lance. And, in true Fire Emblem fashion, at least once, he missed both crit chances.
War master's innate 20% crit boost, forged killer weapons (35%) plus a high crit batallion (15-20%) puts you in the 80s without even factoring in dexterity. It's just a bit game-breaking. I think I got a war master byleth to have over 100% crit on one playthrough.
@@Turk3YbAstEr Throw in a critical ring and a crit bonus skill from S ranking a weapon and that's almost 100% crit
@@wildfiresnap In my maddening run he reliably has a 100% crit rate with killer lance and 50% crit rate even when equipped with a broken weapon. I was trying to grind class and skill experience and had to refrain myself from screaming “stop critting everything in your way I need that parselene combat art damn it!” at Dimitri

This really stands out over the other thunder battle themes

Is it just to be or are the crit words "ALLOW ME TO DEMONSTRATE." Unnecessarily badass?
I kind of visualize it as you correcting one of your students on the fine arts of decapitation. "If you cut like that your opponent won't immediately die and they might feel some of the pain. This nice bandit here has volunteered for me to show you how the painless form of decapitation. ALLOW ME TO DEMONSTRATE!"
You could also read it as them "showing" the enemy how to REALLY fight.
Like, "You'll never hit anyone waving that thing around like that, let me show you how to actually use a sword!"
*This playing while desperately trying to grind for class masteries for other saves and critting everyone.*
My Byleth in paladin>swordmaster build couldn't tank when she got ganged up by multiple bandits and almost died until Ashe flew in to save her ass. Meanwhile Dimitri was off killing/critting/doubling everything in sight with a bow and lance by himself, telling Mercedes/Annette he doesn't need help.
This song always reminds me of my failures. I made it all the way to chapter 14 of my maddening run, thinking I was doing good. Then chapter 14 came along. I've lost count of the hours and hours of attempts that I've spent trying to beat the chapter, and no matter how lucky I got, I could never win... I think at this point I've probably sophlocked my run, so I might restart it at some point :_(
So incredibly relentless
Edelgard lingering in the backline, struggling to keep up with the rest of the team. Dimitri doing the opposite -- leaving the rest of the team in the dust as he eviscerates everything in sight. Claude flying around in the backline, occasionally taking potshots at armor knights. And Seteth being a filler unit.
I think this can even be better than the rain version .

I wouldn’t necessarily say it better than the rain version but it’s certainly on par with it. It’s probably my favourite thunder version of a track in the game though

Dimitri has the best theming with his crest. Every once in a while he'll just pop off and do 200 damage to some poor fool, and nearly break his lance in half with it, which is canonically one of abilities/consequences of the Blaiddyd crest.
It seems to happen more often post Timeskip too, but that might just be because I use combat arts more then.

In the past few games I found the ablaze/storm/thunder variants of the battle themes to be pretty damn good on their own, some even better than the regular versions. Three Houses kinda disappointed me in that respect, because most of the thunder variants were pretty underwhelming in my opinion. This particular song though, was the one exception. I love this one.
