Very good. I've went through this on my wife's 01 turbo beetle. I love buying old broken German cars, they keep your diagnosing skills on point. Great video.
Great work team!! Nice fix, ya know I was thinking too many shops would say you need Freon or worse yet a new compressor. Not Astral, no way! Honest as Abe and a great teacher of the DIY’er. Thanks for all you guys do!! All I wish is you were in Minnesota!!!
@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos I would vote for Northern Minnesota!!! And back to your hockey viewing, after I took you too your first game, you would be hooked! Followed shortly there after, Ice Fishing!! Man I can just picture Timmy on a frozen lake!!
Astral guys: love your videos. But you want to read this. Just a heads up. The URO parts model has the 40, 30, and 20 amp fuses. But…. The bare metal fuses between the wires for the bolts are different as well. I believe the stock fuses are 50/50/40/110/150 or 120 depending on your alternator output, but uro comes with 30/40/50/110/150. I almost didn’t notice it. There is a spare 120 in the package, but you may have to reuse your old fuses. You may want to check those so they don’t blow/burn up. The captive bolts are a pain to get off, but they will still fit in the URO fuse box if you like it up exactly and push.
Good job Timmy! Lord knows I don't care for Uro brand parts, but a fuse box shouldn't be bad. Their rubber parts like motor mounts and bushings suck. Strong work 💪
I was about to say I never had a problem with them, but then after reading the rest of your comment, I don't think we ever bought parts made of rubber by them, LOL!
Easy to dip that bunch of stranded wire in a flux and solder it in with a torch quick- your crimp got just the tip and solder would've prevented a repeat of corrosion induced bs. Overall though, great job finding and fixing!!

Thank you so much 😀
Awesome fix! Learned a-lot!!! That wire corrosion and terminal corrosion is a problem with all vehicles! I've never used that crimper before! Love it!
THANKS, and if we are having issues like this with gas and diesel vehicles, can you imagine the issues that will come up with ELECTRIC vehicles?
Can you please tell me what probe device you are using? It looks very handy/useful
I dig it!

@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos yeah Tim, I think Uro rubber stuff is made from crushed charcoal mixed with snot and Elmer's glue. Lol.
