For me that doesn't make sense. In the KNY world you don't go to hell because you chose to become a demon. You go to hell because you killed humans. It makes no sense that all is forgiven for Daki just because she didn't choose. It's like saying just because she got turned she can do whatever she wants. She very clearly made her own choice to be cruel and kill after. Tengen even eluded to that about himself even though his circumstances were different. Many fans here in Japan were also questioning why only Daki was in human form and had the choice to go to the light while Gyutaro was still in demon form and could only accept his fate to go to hell. Since Daki had killed plenty of humans as well she should also have been condemned to go to hell too. The only explanation that makes sense is that Gyutaro made the choice to accept all the blame and punishment, including his sisters share when he said she was his only regret. Until death and even to hell he was steadfast in protecting her even at a cost to himself, just as how he lived when they were both alive. The idea that Daki would have been forgiven if she didn't venture into hell with her brother seems backwards, since that was the path of punishment. She chose to go with Gyutaro because she loved him just as much as he loved her. That was the whole point of that scene. She took the hard road because it meant they could be still be together. It was the part where she actually matched her brother's love for her imo. When it comes to being a good brother and loving their sisters, both Tanjiro and Gyutaro are exactly the same, just different circumstances and paths. Tanjiro had Giyu to help and guide him to the light when he needed someone. Gyutaro had the Upper Six "help" him when he needed someone. Such a beautiful but tragic story😭

Fun fact : Daki's real name, Ume (梅) means Plum. . but it could be also a slang word for syphilis (梅毒/baidoku) that's why gyutaro said it's a bad name since their mother died because of that... given what her job is. . Gyutaro got mark like that because of his mom's disease and other kind of medicine that she took to kill him while still inside her womb. . and their mother also abusing Ume/Daki while she was a toddler/child. . and back then in their era (Edo era I think.. not Tanjiro's era).. Samurai are like a high class, so nobody wants to mess with them. and the punishment if you attacking a samurai are mostly death penalty.. and burned alive was one of the punishment back then.. . it's really cruel :(

Its really interesting to see the parallel story between Tanjiro and Gyutaro. Both love their sisters and gave anything and everything in order to make them happy and comfortable in every step of their lives. But finally, when they encountered the real hardships, one was saved by a Hashira, and the other was saved by a Demon. Such a nice story!
After seeing daki-gyutaro’s backstory, my biggest fear is that i’m not ready for akaza (sad) backstory. I mean he killed rengoku and i hate him for that. But i’m sure his flashback is gonna be tragic and i think i already feel sorry for him
🥹The mother was indeed cruel to Gyuutaro but it was depression and probably common scene at that time. I assume the mother was one of sex worker in the district (I’ve read articles and pls do cmiiw) but it was such a burden for a prostitute to bear a child so pregnancy was something you didn’t want to have. When workers were pregnant, they were not able to work/serve (men usually lost interest in pregnant workers) hence the brothel suffered big loss for months during pregnancy. Some people prevented pregnancy the hard way by killing the baby before it was even born (like what the mother did to him) or sold them after they were born but sometimes the brothel could just throw the women away (because they suffered from illness after pregnancy due to unsafe delivery procedure/hygiene aspects and they required money for medicine) And it looked to me that the mother was the lowest worker there, so when she had Gyuutaro it means more mouths to feed when they literally didn’t have anything to begin with. It’s pretty devastating 😭 Great video btw. What a genuine reaction there 🥹👍 keep going
He’s definitely in full plate but there’s always pretty solid justification and internally consistent reasoning for it. Actually kind of the entire series is about people protecting each other and Tanjiro is at the heart of that.

Did you notice the last few seconds Gyutarou wore stripe kimono,not demon figure.That means he will not be demon again. If Ume(Daki) didn't chase Gyutarou,he maybe still demon.Gyutarou was saved by Ume and Tanjiro.

Great reaction video as always! I've already read the Manga, but the Anime made the Daki/Gyutaro stuff hit different. Unfortunately no news on when exactly the next season will air, but very recently there was news that season 3 is being worked on right now (with character art for the Love Hashira - Mitsuri Kanroji - and the Mist Hashira - Muichiro Tokito - being shown). And an omen is some kind of "sign" pointing towards what will happen in the future, either good or bad. A common usage in Anime for example for a bad omen would be something like a friend or relative of someone in a fight suddenly seeing a glass or mirror shatter, signifying the person fighting will die. But in this case, the master believes that finally beating an upper rank demon after all those countless years is a good omen, which signifies that this may finally be the generation to defeat Muzan
"I'm actually sad that he's retiring so soon" Well, that's how the manga and the show are. It's a pretty short series if you compare it to any old popular shounen. The good thing with these new gen shounen is that the action and the animation DO look dope, on the other hand, it will leave you some characters feel underused. I also felt it with JJK, they killed characters and then they just moved on, but at least DS did them better.
yeah, if there is something i dislike about demon slayer is the fact that i feel like the series had a lot of unused potensial. basically: my main complaint about this show is that i wished it lasted more, cus *(MANGA SPOILERS)* i'm not a big fan of those series that end with a massive timejump, especially those that jump so far that we see the frikkin' descendants of the main characters haha

I recall I didn’t cry when I read Daki and Gyutaro's backstory in the manga, but I found myself sobbing when I watched this episode.
In the end when gyutaro accepts her apology and walks with her to hell was too much😥

i didnt tear up when i watch the episode first hand but when i watched their reaction, i tear up and almost cried.
Daki and Gyutaro's voice actors are so top tier (just amazing throughout). I really loved everything about this arc.😀

Tanjiro is the plot-armor-character that i can accept
He’s definitely in full plate but there’s always pretty solid justification and internally consistent reasoning for it. Actually kind of the entire series is about people protecting each other and Tanjiro is at the heart of that.

Did you notice the last few seconds Gyutarou wore stripe kimono,not demon figure.That means he will not be demon again. If Ume(Daki) didn't chase Gyutarou,he maybe still demon.Gyutarou was saved by Ume and Tanjiro.
Omen, I think it is an Event a sign of good or evil.
That moment when a Demon with no emotions at all showed Gyuutaro and Ume more empathy and humanity than everyone else in the entire world. WOW.

Great reaction video as always! I've already read the Manga, but the Anime made the Daki/Gyutaro stuff hit different. Unfortunately no news on when exactly the next season will air, but very recently there was news that season 3 is being worked on right now (with character art for the Love Hashira - Mitsuri Kanroji - and the Mist Hashira - Muichiro Tokito - being shown). And an omen is some kind of "sign" pointing towards what will happen in the future, either good or bad. A common usage in Anime for example for a bad omen would be something like a friend or relative of someone in a fight suddenly seeing a glass or mirror shatter, signifying the person fighting will die. But in this case, the master believes that finally beating an upper rank demon after all those countless years is a good omen, which signifies that this may finally be the generation to defeat Muzan

Well, that's how the manga and the show are. It's a pretty short series if you compare it to any old popular shounen. The good thing with these new gen shounen is that the action and the animation DO look dope, on the other hand, it will leave you some characters feel underused. I also felt it with JJK, they killed characters and then they just moved on, but at least DS did them better.
yeah, if there is something i dislike about demon slayer is the fact that i feel like the series had a lot of unused potensial. basically: my main complaint about this show is that i wished it lasted more, cus *(MANGA SPOILERS)* i'm not a big fan of those series that end with a massive timejump, especially those that jump so far that we see the frikkin' descendants of the main characters haha

An omen is like a sign of a good/bad fortune, it can be a good omen / good fortune or a bad omen / bad fortune. For example a shooting star, some people consider it a sign of good fortune, others might see it as the sky is falling.... we're all gonna die....lol...
Season 3 - Swordsmith Village Arc, hopefully, will be released in 2023, high hopes are it can be released late 2022 once covid chills out.
