Welcome to another Mortal Kombat 11 video!
Now in todays history of breakdown and analysis I will be talking about non other then a son of Argus, the edenian half god Rain!
With Sindel only a few mere week away, I somewhat wanted to celebrate and shine a light on her fellow Edenian within the series!
So over the next few week Ill be covering the few remaining Edenians Im yet to talk about all the way up to Sindel release, Im also extremely pleased to let you know that It will be Mileena! So If you are a fan please keep an eye out for that!
Now I am a huge big fan of Rain so I am really really hoping that In the future he will make a return! What are your thoughts on Rain as a character? Would you like to see him return or do you feel like his time Is done?

This is probably the most ignored character since Chameleon
I've never seen so many people literally beg for a character just for it to be blatantly ignored.
psy lence yeah especially since he was skipped over in MKX from being playable then we would’ve figured he would at least be playable in MK11 to make up for it.

Dank Man more like Cassie and Jacqui being kept again instead of replacing them and even though I dislike Dvorah I get why they let her stay in the game again plus it’s fun watching everyone making fatalities and brutalities on her ass to avoid demonetization.

Dank Man and yet they skip him for the other dumb ones (Cassie and Jacqui) that were waste of slots.
Gabriel Tejada raiden since launch is a wasted slots they took away all his good strings that he had from injustice 2, mkx and mk9
VSVPx GooNz96 Raiden is an OG character and a staple of the franchise at this point (besides Scorpion and Sub-zero) whether you like him or not he’s never going away.
The History of Rain = Ed Boons most hated creation, the one character everyone wants but Ed Boon keeps away from the games while trolling us about him. Instead we get characters that use his moves and even make themselves look like him.
Not to mention ermac actually got into mk9 even though he was as much an add on to umk3 as rain was
apocalypse, the but Ermac has been playable in more games than Rain was.

Rain was in Mortal Kombat X but he was unplayable I would’ve liked to play as him instead of Tanya but I don’t understand why they didn’t place both of them also Reiko and Havik they did appear on the comics too
I really liked Rain's design in _Armageddon_ that made him look like he was a sorcerer with the loose robes and half-cape. His numerous long-range water attacks even attributed to this. It's definitely my favorite look of his.
You must be rather pleased with the new game if you're a fan of sorcerer Rain

Anton Grünhardt no she’s not. She’s mid tier at best when actually using logical power scaling. Top tier is like Raiden, Shao Khan, Shinnok etc. Plot armor doesn’t give them a giant leap up the ladder. Example being Kitana beating Shao Khan in MK11 even though this Kitana is the first tournament version who is by far way weaker the Khan, but plot armor made it so she won....

Here is my theory. Rain has always been so underrated and misunderstood by NRS and because of that has always had a place on the back burner mentality. Players such as myself know that if given the attention needed (updating some of his moves) and given the proper stage, Rain will be and would have been in the ranks of Scorpion and Sub-Zero. NRS... listen to us the people of the MK universe.... give the Purple Prince what he deserves... the chance to prove demi-gods belong with mortal and immortal alike

Rain deserves so much more respect. Was relegated to DLC in MK9, a game that was based on Trilogy. And he showed up in MKX story, yet wasnt on the main roster and was ignored for DLC, despite fan demand. And he's ignored again in MK11. He can easily be more relevant in the story if NRS gave him the chance

@@revival18 Yes exactly! They gave us a taste then stole him from us forever. I really hope they don't take the arcade version as cannon and declare him dead for the rest of the series. Seeing how they have been reluctant to add him all this time, that seems like a likely outcome though.

I have fond memories of Rain's fighting style in Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I'd like to see him return as DLC.

I don’t think Ed Boon cares about the real Mortal Kombat fans anymore. I wish people like John Tobias comes back for one last time and give us a better Mortal Kombat sequel than MK11. To me, MK11 doesn’t feel like MK11 since the story is very inconsistent. It should’ve been titled “Mortal Kombat Sands of Time”. I miss Rain, Sareena, and Fujin. We’ve been asking for those characters for so long but we still didn’t get them! I’m tired of the trolling bullshit with Ed Boon, his trolls aren’t funny anymore, it upsets me. Mortal Kombat franchise needs some serious help.

I kinda liked the story in the cartoon where he was close to marrying Kitana. It would add some drama to their story at least. I hope he gets some more development eventually than just "egotistical bad guy"
Man, he needs to unlock his Demigod Powers. Tap more into his God side, if he did, he would have greater power. Just like Sub Zero needing to tap more into his Crymancer heritage in this timeline like he did in Deception.

Really happy to see this video! It seriously has not been easy having Rain as one of my favourite characters since his first appearance. I get that he was initially conceived as a sort of joke character but aside from (or including) the joke he's actually a freaking awesome and interesting character with a vast amount of potential.
So tired of him being teased and then being slapped in the face with it being an elaborate troll.
It would be cool if the chaos realm anointed Rain as their god. He can literally manipulate the the idol they worship. That could be a cool way to use him cause he is severely underused.

My headcanon is that ever since Mileena was captured and killed, Tanya and Rain have been on the run from Kotal ever since. While they’re on the run, they’ve been scheming on how to revive Mileena. That’s where im at so far.
LOVE RAIN! Have since his appearance in Ultimate MK3. There was none of this lore to go off of, and every character was far more mysterious than they are now. But Rain was never just 'the purple ninja' to me. I never could have guessed where they went with his story. He'll ALWAYS BE IN MY TOP 3 though. Used to be so dominant with that character - it was so much fun!
Rain is one of my favorite characters too but right now I think he's just chilling back at his pad rocking out to some Prince records eating popcorn and enjoying life knowing that he's a demigod and he's going to come back one day and crush everyone

What if in MK1 instead of betraying the Edenian resistance, he becomes their hero? Rain could be interesting as a good guy and maybe later in his character arc he betrays the main characters after being corrupted.

The fact he is a jobber in story mode just confuses me so much. He's probably one of the most interesting characters in the MK universe and his entire story can offer so much. Redemption arc, a full turn to the dark side etc.

When MKTrilogy came out I was happy I had finally found a main character in Rain after going 2 games without really liking anyone and then just like that it took him 10 long years to appear in another Mortal Kombat game. I remember thinking when Deception came out he would probably never come back again.
My favorite mortal Kombat character until the day Kung Jin made his debut. Acid Rain Drop on a Sega Genesis with the auto button push switches was my introduction into breaking a video game 😂

The next game should be about the invasion of Edenia. Rain is such a cool character that I think many can relate to, similar to Kung Jin. The idea of being rejected by your family and society is very compelling.

I like Rain, his story is one of the most intriguing for me, but not for NRS. He can be a great villain or a great hero and i think he deserves more respect than everyone gives him.

Rain is probally my favorite character and they ignore him so much, everyone asking for him and Netherealm and Ed Boon just making jokes with us is so disapointing instead of fun, wish they give him more chance and more love that he deserves as the Purple Ninja with so much fun moves one of the most fun characters to play due to his special moves.

The demigod thing is such a great character concept and I wish they did something with it.
Oh man.. I remember getting stuck in that endless loop of doom that was Rain's kick you off the screen gimmick. The CPU did that to me MANY times in the arcade mode ladder.
Rain has always been an extremely underutilized character.
The way I hear is that Rain was retconned as an Edenian in the later games after his debut. Also Both Taven and Daegon are Demi gods as well because their mother is also an Edenian woman.
I love both Rain and Tanya so I hope Tanya’s ladder ending isnt canon. Then again, no one ever really dies in the MK universe so if Rain does die, they’ll bring him back sooner or later. I really hate this no repeat DLC rule Ed Boon placed. Like, you’re just not getting enough money by putting people’s favourite characters up for DLC.
