Yeah I have them on both my Patrols, my theory was he won't be towing or carrying huge loads and driving fairly cautiously so should be sweet but definitely could do them down the track

Maaaaaaate - the dad’s car is going to be a big change from the Isuzu! Mint! The ROH wheels are awesome - I chose them for the 1500kg rating and run 32.7” with the tire and awesome! A bit difficult to clean after a muddy run but not too bad! As for extinguishers, thought you may get the fire sticks that last 100secs once started and good on ALL types of fires 🔥

I was hoping that you were going to show Burto fittin that swaybar. Just fitted my one and the diesel tank was in a prick of a spot to fit the drivers side swaybar link pin mount. Was interested to see how a mechanic would have tackled it.

I learnt something new from this episode. I've never known about inner tube bead-locks. Looks like a great bit of gear. I hope you do a long term review on this in the future. Will cutting part of the rear door inner structure, to fit the Horizon table weaken the support for the rear spare tyre mounts (if not being remounted on the bar)?
@@-PORK-CHOP- That's what they did. They cut part of the sheet metal to enlarge the whole in order to fit the spice rack. Just curious if this will have a negative impact on the rigidity of the spare tyre mount.

Not grandpa spec anymore. Your dad should invest in the Bushwrapz paint protection film to protect the paint on his GU for as long as it can. It seems like the paint on it is still relatively good (on camera anyway).

Saved many out in remote.. especially a GU Patrol with 15L and LC200 with 10L water in tank from fuel stops contaminated fuel drum...after realising, they poured a couple small bottles in...shake 4x4 left to right to mix..ALL GOOD and both kept going finishing track! Great Vid. If ya have a DMAX still under warranty, would you put a Fuel Pre Filter and Catch can on ?? what priority? do they void warranty? this is for 'NORMAL' 4WD and Big Lap trip. Its only $$$ :-)
@@Jacobtheunwise at low pressure I would imagine the inner device or at high pressure both the tyre and the inner would be punctured . So if highway driving the imbalance would be really bad.as inner would be deflated.and you would have to change it out?
@@jamestanner9198 The SecondAir Beadlocks as a system are only about 2kgs, which is pretty light compared to the tyres these days, and they balance up really well. Mostly if you puncture your tyre, the SecondAir will let you limp to a safe spot to fix, protecting both your rim and tyre. Plugging the tyre will still work, just keep the SecondAir at 50psi, and increase the main tyre pressure rather than keeping on at 5-10 psi.

Sounds like you copped a w@nker of a cop. Do what i do. Keep specs of your 4wd in the glovebox. When they say things like, 'Youre .1% over" (which is BS by the way. How would he know). Just pull out the specs from the factory and prove theyre wrong.
If you look at the RVDS sheet 275/70R16 was the biggest tyre that came out on a GU wagon, technically you can go for a 295/70R17 and be 6.7% which under 7% max increase
beadlocks aren't illegal wtf are you on about. it's illegal to modify wheels so weld on beadlocks are illegal, if the wheel was designed as a beadlock and certified it's legal. a lot aren't certified because the manufacturers don't want to fork out for testing. but saying beadlocks are ilegal is false, then you go and modify your wheels and claim they're legal, unlikely and the internal tube type beadlocks were al;ways moredrama than they're worth.
Hope it doesn't blow up like the last 4 maybe get a different mechanic if your going to go far away maybe get your own truck running properly first you got the shitbox army at the moment

Nice build Tyler. One thing you should've added is rear coil tower braces as they're prone to cracking with added weight and stiffer springs.

I would assume cutting and not adding reinforcement to the inner skin will cause some issues

No. Will not void the warranty, and dont let them tell you any different.
Definitely do the pre filter but catch can is only worth it if you're going to make sure to check it and empty it often

How much weight needed to balance the tyres? You can't plug the tyre now on the track to get you out trouble I guess
