    Thanks for sharing another way to use the gel press with dye inks. It's great to know that supplies we may have on hand will work so well. The cards are beautiful!

    I was pleased to see you using the gel plate. You got some great pulls and turned them into beautiful cards. I am a major sucker for silhouette stamps.

    These are gorgeous! I usually play with paint on my plates, but I'm definitely going to have to get my inks out and see what happens! This would be a fun way to work through a creative block, too. Thanks so much for sharing this ❤❤❤

    As usual, your cards are lovely.
    For those without a plate who might watch this, in the absence of stencils or stamps of some sort (including textured objects), I generally just brayer my ombré directly on the paper. I started doing that before I had the plate, but I see no reason to change if that's all I want to do. (Spattering on the plate does create the option to remove some of the spatter before committing it to paper, which is worth considering if you're not a confident spatterer.) I particularly liked the brayer effect on Tyvek (which resists ink enough that the results will be paler than you'd expect). I haven't seen a lot of mixed color pads lately (I think Hero Arts has the most recent offerings, and Kaleidacolor are still on the market, though the format of those pads can make picking up the ink with a brayer a bit difficult), but I've been doing this for decades, and they can be handy (though perhaps less vesatile than picking one's own color combos).
    I'm curious why the ink-saturated brayer-off sheet isn't useful to you. I find that some of my most colorful efforts (whether inking or digital design) work well under coverplates with fairly small holes.

      Thank you for the useful info! ❤️ Normally I would have saved the brayered off piece but I went over some of them so many times, I didn't see myself using it because of the variety of colors I applied to some of the sheets. I did save a few though :-)

    I think I saw that you had the Gel plate on the Waffle flower mat. If you had put it on the glass mat your mat shouldn’t move (without the acetate if you leave that on, it’s recommended to just keep your plate in the original packaging without the acetate. 😀

    • @MindyEggenDesign
      @MindyEggenDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually mentioned in my video that I put it on a piece of white cardstock so viewers could see what I was doing. I personally like don't like having it stick to my glass mat because I like to move it around as needed. 😊
